The receipt showing what my pizza SHOULD have looked like. It didn't.
    Christopher C.

Back in the day this Round Table was huge! Then maybe 20 years ago they built a wall (and Mexico paid for it?) and cut the restaurant in half. The other half became a Subway, which has just closed. Anyway my experience tonight was less than stellar. Took my wife and her mother here to celebrate her birthday (hey she wanted pizza and wings). She really wanted a pizza with bacon, so we ordered a supreme, add bacon to half. The pizza came out and we couldn't determine which half had bacon, since there was none to be seen. My wife went to ask the girl at the counter if she could point out the bacon. She sent a guy from the kitchen, who said that they forgot to put the bacon. He offered us complimentary fountain drinks (I'm drinking a pitcher of Mango Cart) but we declined his generous offer. What he DIDN'T offer was to remake the pizza that I had ordered. Next time we'll stick with Dino's. Or Peeps. Cause Round Table did us wrong.

    Maui Zaui Pizza

I've been here a few times recently for the excellent lunch special, but I came back this evening for dinner and found it equally enjoyable. The staff are super friendly, the service is quick and the place is clean and comfortable. Good ambiance! And there are enough TVs showing sports and news to satisfy everyone, but without volume so it doesn't bother those who just want to eat and talk. Sometimes a place with a salad bar can tend to look a little neglected and semi-unappealing, but not here. Prices are very reasonable too. I'm not a huge fan of Hawaiian pizza but one of the people in my group ordered the Maui Zaui and it was pretty damn tasty. I would definitely get that one again.

This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.

Fuji itself was probably like 40-50% occupied and there was plenty of parking. For $37 (and 20% for seniors on Mon/Tues), I thought it was pretty worth for the amount of food we ate. - Korean rib (grill): thinly cut, tender, and nicely marinated (even when you don't ask for any special sauces). so yummy to eat it fresh off the grill - snow crab: i prefer eating this hot than chilled, and it hit the spot! meaty, sweet crab. they refilled this often - cajun seafood: not too salty! includes mussels, shrimps, thin corn cobs which I actually prefer - crawfish: nicely marinated and tasty but dry meat ); parents said the last time they had this here a month ago it was better - salmon sashimi was also restocked and tasted fresh - Fish maw soup/chowder: both were tasty as well - matcha ice cream: yummm - lots of fresh fruit options: blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, cherries even Other selections are standard and not bad. Dim Sum is unique but usually not done well so I didn't even bother. Chicken feet isn't bad tho Bathrooms could be cleaner and service was slooow. We maybe saw our waiter like 3 times? He only cleared our plates once and he never offered us water refills, which we had to actively flag him down for. It wasn't busy as it was a Monday and we were the only table in that seating area (lower level by the Mongolian grill)

The fried chicken was room temperature, the fries were mushy, the salt and pepper calamari was chewy and cold. The crab legs were the only item that was good, it wasn't overcooked, perhaps that's the benefit of the food not being hot in the buffet. Dishes were cleared but drinks were not refilled. And drinks are in addition to the buffet price. The desserts are sad. Place is clean and large, but not particularly well kept. We will not be coming back.

So the seating was kind of just random, very close to one another, and out in the open. I don't want to say it's a part of the hotel lobby but it pretty much was. You can see everyone dining where you check into the hotel. Kind of awkward. Service was ok, nothing special. I get it, maybe they were short staffed for what the crowd was but I wouldn't even really say there was a crowd to begin with? I couldn't get a specific drink bc they didn't have a "soda gun" and the drink only comes out of a gun I guess lol. But the food itself - I would only say it's "worth it" if you're only there specifically for the lobster and crab legs, and only those 2. Worth it is kind of a reach too because $140 per person? I'm better off just buying a whole lobster to myself for way cheaper - and I'm not one to cheap out on food either. Everything else that was included in the buffet was mediocre. The prime rib was dry, the mac n cheese was salty, the mashed potatoes were decent, my toddler ate it so that's good! Galbi was better too. But $700 for 4 adults? Don't let them fool you and double check- they already include tip in the total on the receipt that they give you. My bf went to go pay and before he got to look at the receipt, he asked if tip was included (we had 4 adults and 3 toddlers so sometimes it is included bc of the toddlers, sometimes it isn't) well they said it wasn't and when my bf showed them the receipt where tip already was included, they said "oh well that is tip for the staff" ok???? So tip WAS included then. Idk I didn't like that. Kind of shady if you ask me. Honestly over all - I would only come if I was specifically going to eat only lobster and only crab legs and that I had a huge craving I couldn't cure. Other than that, save your $140, go to Vegas, go to Bacchanal at the Cesar's Palace, and enjoy their lobster and crab legs and their AMAZING 100000 other choices of food. You won't regret. We most likely won't be returning due to the price and what the food actually entails.
