I've left six reviews in the past and I have to say that this place gets better and better! It never fails to deliver. I cannot believe their rating is what it is, as we find this restaurant to be an amazing entity. Now they are including boba drinks in the normal meal tab; now how terrific is that - and of course, a wide range of coffee choices are also included. As ever, the shear range of choices is mind-blowing. FYI: we start with sushi dishes and graduate to hot dumplings, fish and other hot dishes. I haven't been to a buffet in a decade and this place blew it out of the water for me personally. This place was huge with so many tables of all sizes. Came in for lunch for the Lunar New Year and ate a ton of great food. My favorites from the buffet were definitely the hot & sour soup (amazing!), the sautéed mushrooms, and the sushi, which tasted pretty fresh to me. But the cherry on top was the Mongolian grill!! Next time I know to put even more on my plate because it was absolutely amazing. I wish I took pictures but the second I sat down at my table I immediately started to eat. I have seen many reviews complaining about the service. Umm... it's a buffet. You serve yourself. My only complaint was a few items were definitely mislabeled with a lot of items not labeled at all. Came back on the 1st day of new year after a long time but unfortunately didn't see any improvements but the price did go up and now it cost exactly $37 for 1 person buffet plus drink and you have to pay first before entering the buffet hall. So I went to the Kings buffet recently located in Western. The service was good. We got sat pretty fast and the food was a decent price very much affordable we went with the group. We were able to all sit together and there are tons of options. Also, I wish they would've had games on. It would've definitely added to the vibe. It had nice lighting and little background music but if they would've had some of the basketball games on, it would've definitely helped the experience. So because I tried so many different things I wanna talk about the stand out the shrimp there really really good and there's fried shrimp there's baked shrimp. There's all different kinds of it. All good really good. The orange chicken was actually pretty solid. Nice flavor nice texture good consistency. The crab was good, but there wasn't a way to crack it so you have to crack it yourself and it was so freaking difficult. And the salmon was some of it was good went back for seconds wasn't as good as the first time like it's a buffet so there's expected to be inconsistencies. The desserts were OK. I enjoyed the ice cream tons of different flavors but the baked goods I wish there was brownies. HORRIBLE place, and very bad experience. Sorry for writing that but iam gonna share our family and kids experience. Place: The furniture is ugly and not clean. smell bad every where Seating is too crowded Staff: Not friendly at all and talk aggressive with no single smile, starting the reception till the food servers. They cannot understand English at all. They come rarely to collect the plates. They bring the sodas 1 time only. They are not clean at all, we saw the grill man wipes his mouth and faith with the same towel for the table. The sushi lady were eating directly with her hand from the food services in-front of us. Food: The food was too much but not delicious at all. Sushi was fine. Salads very limited. Grills so slow. I got diarrhea immediately from the food. For the most part, I liked this spot for the variety of dishes and the unexpected cleanliness at an Asian buffet! There is everything from broccoli beef , short ribs to soft shell crab which was my favorite and pizza for the kiddos. There is a coffee machine , a milk tea machine and i swear it's Thrifty Ice cream for self serve and a chocolate fountain ! Definitely family friendly. I had family visiting from out of town, so we went to Hollywood and Highland to look at the Hollywood stars. After that, everyone was hungry, and my uncle wanted to eat at a buffet, so he suggested this place. We walked in, and once we paid, they asked what we wanted to drink, and we went to find a table. The place is pretty big with enough tables for larger groups, but you can't move the tables, so we had to sit at different tables to fit everyone. The buffet is like any other buffet where you grab a plate and serve yourself. They had a lot of seafood items, including sushi. I didn't get to try the sushi because I was super full, but my sister said the sushi was pretty good considering it was a buffet. The rest of the buffet includes Chinese food and a Mongolian BBQ station where they prepare the food for you. They also had a boba drink station, which was pretty cool! The chocolate fountain was also a hit with all the kids! The food that I tried was pretty good, and it tasted fresh. Now for the service. Unfortunately, the service was just okay. For some reason, when I asked for extra utensils, the waitress seemed bothered and said I should have some on my table, but I didn't, so she brought out 5 forks, and I only needed one. Also, one of the other waiters didn't seem friendly at all and was almost upset when I asked him for my son's drink. For a buffet that's ~$35 per person on a weekend, I think you get a reasonably clean place with a wide array of options and free parking (which was so nice). My mom and I came here for a relative's birthday dinner and we were seated in a separate area next to the main room. They have sushi, dim sum, a Mongolian BBQ station, and more. The desserts had a good variety as well, with a chocolate fountain being the crowning jewel. The food was decent and though some was a bit on the cool side, I didn't have any stomach issues the next day. No tips are expected and there's a 10% service charge on top of the main price (there's a discount for senior citizens). I went into the restaurant right when it opened, and the bowl holding the kimchi had old kimchi juice stains dried along the rim, making it look dirty and unclean. It seemed like they had left leftover kimchi from the previous day sitting there without even covering it. Even after some time passed, they didn't bring out fresh kimchi or replace it with a clean bowl. Since kimchi is a side dish that's often eaten in large amounts, you can tell a lot about a restaurant's cleanliness just by looking at the condition of the kimchi container. Whenever I visit K-town, I try to go back to this buffet place. The lunch price went up $24-$28 (automatically includes a refillable drink). They've been having issues with people leaving without paying, so you must pay before you get a table. This place is enormous. Parking is FREE! They have a decent selection of food and a fresh grill option in the back. Service is quick. Workers always walk around to remove plates when you are done or refill drinks. I'm not sure why this place has 3 stars because this place is great! I've been twice so far. They have a Mongolian BBQ bar, sushi bar, fruit bar, dessert bar, ice cream station, & even a boba stand! I reccomend to come before 4:00pm to save money. Staff is friendly & always on top of cleaning tables & bringing you re-fills. Went last night: $35 per person to partake in below average food (lukewarm at best, orange chicken that was like mush, teriyaki chicken that was tough as shoe leather, pizza crust that could crack a windshield, etc.), the most unfriendliest staff ever: no greeting, no welcoming smile of any kind, and a staff worker who all but grounded me for not having my receipt on the table so that she could see what my beverage should be. The food was completely bland, lacking any flavor whatsoever. On top of that, the entire place felt unsanitary--so much so that I was actually afraid to eat the food. There were not enough utensils or tongs at the buffet, leading to clear cross-contamination between different dishes. The floors were a mess, covered in food, napkins, and chopstick wrappers, yet the staff made no effort to clean up. It was obvious that cleanliness is not a priority here. Given the poor food quality and unsanitary conditions, I would never come back and definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food is obviously the main factor people come here, but King Buffets' shortfall is their equipment. I want to say that 95% of the food in the warmers were cold...not even lukewarm. By the pictures, the food looks appetizing, but once you scoop it on your plate, the food is as cold as the plate. The only, ONLY hot items were the salt & pepper crabs, when they brought out a new batch, the noodle bar and grilled meats. So until they fix that problem, don't expect much because the "heat lamps" don't keep the food hot. Service was lackluster and they did the very minimum of clearing your plate and refilling your water cup. I will say that the bathrooms were extremely clean, especially for a busy buffet. Went on a Sunday night, price was 30.99 with a 10% discount for seniors. They add a 10% surcharge but indicate tipping is not required. The food was very good, they had the typical Mongolian grill and also a grilling station with Korean style short ribs, (worth the price of admission) all the usual buffet dishes were there. The chicken feet were a surprise but were done just like in a traditional dim sum place, surprisingly good. Mochi ice cream balls for dessert, save room for these babies. It's my sister's graduation, so we were looking for a nice place to eat. I really wish we had gone to BJ's instead, because this place was honestly disgusting. There was a fly at our table the entire time we were eating. The cauliflower was rotten and even had mold on it. Everything tasted bland and lacked flavor. If you're thinking of going, you might as well prepare yourself for food poisoning. I swear the only decent thing there was the ice cream--and even that felt off. Every tub had bits of other flavors mixed in, like they don't bother cleaning the scoops. It genuinely feels like the staff doesn't care at all about sanitation.
