A few years ago, we had our daughter's eighth-grade graduation in the large banquet room. We had a great experience. However last month when we went on a Friday evening, I was sadly disappointed. The overall cleanliness wasn't the same. The glasses for the bar were dirty. A majority of the beers on taps wines were empty or non-functioning. There wasn't silverware out for the salad bar. When asked for clean pieces, they handed us plastic... while an employee stated. She didn't want to have to wash them later. We ordered a vegetarian pizza that was brought out with chicken. The young man that delivered it to our table argued with us that if we wanted a vegetarian pizza, we needed to order it next time without the chicken! Eventually, he did take it back and remake it... reminding us to order it correctly next time. They should inform the customer there is a new policy that Deliveries are cashless and they are a call center. I go in and there's always someone greeting you. If you're doing dine in you can either let them choose where to sit you or you can do it yourself that is of coarse after you order and pay. They renovated here so we thought they would be be an upgrade all around, but sadly not the case. We came in for the lunch buffet at 11:30 (starts at 11:00) and they had no pizzas out. They said they would make them when someone came in for the buffet, so I guess it isn't very popular. We had to wait for a good 5 mins to be helped and were debating about staying since they didn't have any pizzas out, but what sealed the deal was they didn't have any to go cups that we could put a lid on for my boyfriend's son who would have spilled it everywhere otherwise. We had to ask for our money back and go to the one on Willow and Herndon that actually had pizzas ready and to go cups. Worst experience at a pizza joint EVER!!!! We arrived at around 7:50 pm and finally placed our order at 8:07 (per the receipt). While we waited and waited for our order to be completed, I thought I would have the kids play games (since it's billed as a "CLUBHOUSE"). So apparently, you need to get a game card to play games, however the machine did not take ANY cash. Not a problem, I thought I would use my card. Well, the card machine would not work as well. We wasted about 10-15 minutes trying to get the cash and card machine to work, neither worked. But, by the time we sat back at our table it was about 8:30. Which wasn't a problem because our pizza would be arriving soon, right? Well 8:50 came and no pizza. Kids were hungry, I'm hungry, and EVERYONE inside of the restaurant is looking frustrated and annoyed. So much so, that two people almost got into a fight in front of everyone. Tensions were high because hardly any food was coming out. I spoke to people next to me who said that they were there for almost TWO HOURS!!! And they said that a table (with two parents and three children') were there before them, and they all looked like they were there for that long. Mom and Dad looked soooo annoyed and upset while the children looked bored and hungry (much like mine were). A long line was forming of people trying to order and others trying to inquire about their order. All of which had the same exact look (annoyed, frustrated, hungry, and tired). After looking at the lack of personnel in the back and at the counter, I realized that they were extremely understaffed. On top of that, the two people (1 male and 1 female) who were in the back making pizzas were hardly working. They were slow and one actually took a break. There was a point where I did not see any of them for approximately 5 minutes. The lady in the front counter was overwhelmed. However I still believe that she should have avoided all the phone calls that were coming in. But she appeared to be doing her best. At about 9:17 (after seeing the two employees in the back disappear again for the fourth time) I decided to join the long line and demand my $66 back (2pizzas and a few drinks). This Round Table location recently moved across First Street into a much bigger building and rebranded as a Round Table Club House. I'm very happy with this update! The new location is a lot more modern, much larger, and has some better features. There's plenty of seating, 2 party rooms, an arcade room, the salad bar, and a new self-pour beer bar. There are a bunch of TVs showing various sports, and there's usually a good mix regardless of where you sit. It can get really busy but fortunately the party rooms keep the larger groups contained so it doesn't feel like you're rubbing shoulders with everyone. After my first couple visits here I might've given it a lower rating: it wasn't very busy but a good number of the tables hadn't been bussed. On my most recent visit, though, they had clearly stepped up their game and had the servers actually guiding people to their tables and making sure everything was picked up in a timely manner. Our server was on top of getting our pizza out (we didn't feel we'd been waiting long when she came by and said she'd check on it for us) also and in with us a few times. The salad bar was also restocked throughout the evening. For the beer bar, you hand over your ID and they hold it as collateral for as long as you have the arm band that you use to operate the taps. I was uncomfortable with leaving my ID so asked if they'd take our credit card instead, which to their credit they did. There's a good selection and a couple of wines on tap, too. Watch out fresno this place is trying to compete with the other pour your own beer places in town. This round table got a really good remodel by moving across the street from their old location. They have 24 taps 4 are wine that you self pour. They open up a tab in your name while holding your lic or credit card. Then you get a bracelet to pour your own beer/wine. Beers range from tioga, ballast point, Firestone, house of pendragon to your norms. They have two party rooms that don't require a deposit to hold the space. They have tons of TVs. Small arcade to keep the kiddos occupied. Each game is around 2 to 4 tokens each. Some games give you a paper ticket amount. But no prizes at the location you have to download the gamer green app that lets you save the tickets to pick a prize that gets sent to your home for free. They have a normal soda fountain and a newer touch screen soda machine also to pick flavors. High and low top tables and booths for your sitting convenience. Where to start, where to start, where to start!! I have been to this resturant since 2011, and since then service was inconsistent until January 2018. With that being said tonight my family and I visited their new location in the Hoover Pavilion on First and Bullard; to say this visit was phenomenal would be the understatement of the century!! Upon entering if you look to the right you see a wall of beers; the wall of beers contains about 20 beers on tap including three different varieties of wine!! I have been to several restaurants in Fresno, and have yet to see this amazing site!! I'm not even a beer drinker, and still I recognize the awesomeness of this wall (but I do drink wine)! On the same side of the wall of beer there is a vapor table that looks like a fire table, and it is a Beautiful site. Now let me tell you if you are expecting a regular Round Table menu please throw that misconception right out the window!! At this location you will find all of the go to favorites you've come to expect, but now their is so much more!! The menu now features 4 different types of Harris Ranch burgers, 9 different types of wings, 5 varieties of sandwiches, 4 bread twist varieties, 5 different appetizers, three different types of Sliders in addition to three different salad offerings. If you choose to take advantage of the wall of wonder (as I call it) you will give them you credit card to hold, and show them your ID to scan. Once this is done you are given a bracelet that has your information (name only as you don't have to close out your tab by credit card) which will operate the wall. I got wine, so I grabbed a glass, scanned my bracelet, and poured how much wine I wanted. As I was walking by I saw a gentalman pouring his beer in a frosted cup; but I also saw the screen warning him that he might have had too much to drink. I must tell you this is COOL AS ALL GET OUT!! My family and I ordered our normal which is Ulta-Meat and a dozen garlic parmesan twists; but this time we also ordered one of their newest menu items bacon cheddar twists. Naturally the pizza & garlic parmesan twist were on point; but let me tell you the bacon and cheddar twist came out of no where!! I mean where have these been all my life!! I also ordered a truly yummy caesar salad simply because I knew just by observation that this salad would be worth it, and I was right on the money. To me what makes this location stand out is the employees!! Having been to the prior location many times I was beyond impressed with the level of customer service every single employee offers!! I had the pleasure of speaking with Danielle, Allison, Milton and Justin; let me tell you I am so excited to see this resturant have such amazing people working there. Our order was taken with care, and was 100% accurate. It was Allison who advised me to try their new bacon cheddar twist, and I'm glad I listened!! I will be back this week coming, and I asked Allison if she is there to please choose my meal option for me. At one time there was over 10 people waiting for there orders all had been waiting an hour there was 7 staff members and they couldn't get it done they messed up my pizza and had to remake it and made the same mistake again after waiting over an hour. Then they tried to send me away minus some of the food I ordered finally I said I want a refund and told them I would pick the onions off the pizza but I didn't want the other food that had been sitting g under a heat lamp for an hour then they said they had thrown it away. I pulled up my mobile banking app and what do you know-there was a $20 charge from round table Pizza. So I called and spoke with one of the managers who said his name was Joe. Basically he told me that there was nothing he could do and I would have to call my bank regarding that charge because nothing came through on their end. Tried another card and same thing. Ended up driving to the location and no problems With my card. Manager joe gave me corporate number and 25% off of my order so I'm switching review from 1 star to 3 because of discount and the fact that the pizza is always amazing. Round Table has always been a nostalgic treat for me. I grew up with this chain and then moved to an area that they didn't serve. I moved back west and have always enjoyed the experience until today. I ordered a bbq chicken pizza, extra large. When we received the pizza it looked great! But from the first bite, it seemed bland, and a little soggy in the center. Then I noticed that it had some white sauce under the cheese. The only bbq sauce was just a slight drizzle over the top. I thought perhaps that they made a mistake and tried to cover it up with the drizzle. I called to check and the manager told me that, "the bbq chicken pizza comes with white sauce." I told her that, I have never had it in the past, and it makes no mention on the menu. On line, or in store. She insisted that I was mistaken and sounded as if she would be doing me a big favor for making it a special way. I don't know when I will return to this facility. Well what can I say about my family favorite Pizza place since I was a kid. I love this place so I decided to pay them a visit again. Well as I walk through those doors it really put a big smile on my face. The location is behind KFC and not small but not as big as other locations. I really love the big TV screen where you can dine in and watch TV. So far so good then I placed a big order since I was meeting my girlfriend for pizza and beers. I was impressed with the salad bar very stocked and fresh and if I wanted anything else there were very accommodating. The pizza was absolutely divine and the hot wings, pizza sticks, and salad had me complete. The overall environment is adult friendly and kid friendly as well.
