I went here on a Sunday around 4-5 pm and I am rating this based on the the following 1. Card top up experience 5/5 - the staff was patience and polite. Care to do the explanation on membership differences. 2. Arcade/ufo catcher 4/5 - the ufo catcher was always empty or it was all messed up. Had to ask the staff multiple time to refill and to reset the messed up one. Overall it was not too hard to win but I'm deducting one star because I asked this lady to refill the prize for one of the machine and she said I don't have the keys for that and left. Didn't even bother to resolve the problem. 3. Food 1/5 - I'm giving one star because of the ice cream. Other than that I ordered a cheeseburger combo and a small size pizza. I waited almost 30min for my food and it was not even busy hr. The worse part was after 30min wait the pizza was cold in the center and the burger was very overcooked. It looks like it was made by 3 years old. The cheese is not even melted! And it tasted so bad and dried. Avoid cheeseburger at all cost. read more

I wanted to check this place out because I had heard they had or were getting a Japanese style photo booth here. Unfortunately I'll never know because I couldn't explore very far into the place. I love arcades but this one, with all the manic flashing lights, was unfortunately like a combination of Las Vegas and hell. Seriously, if you are photosensitive or have any problems with flashing lights, you need to avoid this place. Downstairs (where bowling and billiards are) is a bit calmer but there's still flashing lights in the lounge area to the right when you enter :( Seriously, I don't understand why this makes things more "fun" and it frankly can be dangerous. I should've done my research first and I usually do and let this one slip through the cracks just simply because of what I seen walking by. Perhaps it would have been a better experience if we would have bowled or did something other than play the arcade games. The arcade games are a RIP OFF especially if you have more than one kid trying to play. They charge $2 for the card which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I started with the $8 60 minute unlimited play and was told it only included the games with the green light. Well there were not great selections for an 8 year girl to play so I had to go back and have them refund for that and purchase the 44 credits for an $10 making the total $12 to play about 4 games. Try doing that for 3 kids. So our trip here was short. Tons of games, but most of them cost 5-8 credits and this isn't Dave and Busters. Most of the kiosks were out of order to add money or check balances. Prize selections are cheap and overpriced. This is a good place for teenagers to hang out. The staff was friendly though. I would give this better rating if we weren't sitting around waiting for service for the bowling game. The manager in charge seems nice but not enough people working here to fix the bowling we wait around for 15-20 minutes they do offer to give us time for the game we lost out on which is good. This place is fun but be prepared for hick ups and expensive soda drinks almost $4 for a medium beverage. I never really liked arcades and coming here reminded me of it. There are some games here where you can't understand the instructions of the games since it's in another language. Also, some games are shut off or they're just not working. My sister and I tried to play an air hockey game, but it didn't work. We had to look for different games and we're not the biggest fan of shooting or racing games. I was looking for other types of arcade games but they were very similar. Also, some of the machines didn't work that gave tickets. I was supposed to get extra turns and tickets, however they only registered it as 1 ticket. For the claw machine, the claw would stop functioning and we would have to ask someone to help us multiple times. However, the only good thing is that the workers gave us credits back for the malfunction. This is definitely a fun place to go if you're bored and if you enjoy shooting or racing games. There's a lot of hassle through talking to workers for the malfunctioning games. On the plus side, karaoke is pretty cheap as well as bowling. Bowling is about $13 for unlimited games. (As I'm told, however, check). I'm not sure if I'd come back anytime soon. However I would definitely want to check out their bowling and karaoke. read more

While they have a good selection of games and activities, the staff is horrible. My husband and I went for a date night and decided to do bowling. The staff behind the counter couldn't be bothered to end their conversation to help the people in front of us, and the cashier never once looked up at the guy as he was paying. Once we got to the counter it was the same story. You could barely hear the girl, and she just handed our papers to us in a pile and went back to her very important convo. They put us on a lane right next to other people (sharing the same table and balls) even though more than half the lanes were empty (yea it's being picky but just weird that they didn't space people out when they were so empty). Pins fell out of the pin sorter thing and at one point the computer stopped counting our scores. When we asked they just told us 'theres nothing we can do, just roll a ball and it will fix it'. We ended up leaving after half our game because we were disappointed with the way it was run. read more

I like going here to play the cranes, it feels like this is the only place I can find cranes based of skill. They don't rig the machines and they love to see you win here in Aurora. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. I can tell they are passionate about their jobs when we talk about how cute the plushies are and share common interests with anime! Made this review on round 1 fox valley mall page. Just have to say I'm very disappointed in the managers/higher up staff, I had been told multiple times aggressivley by one manager that if I kept winning the prize locker game they "have to put DVDs in there" then the pac man swirl game didn't pay out my 3000 tickets and went to error mode, the mechanic came after 35 minutes and just unplugged the machine right away, luckily i took a pic of the amount of tickets but if I hadn't I most likely wouldn't have gotten any of those, So I just suggest if anyone Is going to fox valley mall round 1 to try and win prizes, they let you win... but as soon as they feel you win too much, they do everything they can to try and make you lose read more

I have to give this place a solid 5 stars. My husband and I needed to get out of the house on a cold, dreary weekend evening. We headed to the mall to try and let the small kids walk around and get some energy out before bedtime. This was our first time walking into this place. We walked inside the upper level where the arcade games are. We unfortunately didn't make it downstairs, but will be back to check it out soon. The games were newer, clean, and seemed to be a lot of fun - for us and the kids! We spent about 2 hours here and it felt like we were there for only 30 minutes. Time flew by! You have to buy a card (for $1) to play arcade games. You load up how many credits you want, swipe your card like a credit card to play, and the tix are then held on your card. Hooray for not having physical tix to hold on to (or to count at the end of the night with a ticket machine). Overall we all enjoyed ourselves and are planning on going back in again this winter. read more

Worst bowling alley we've ever been to. We went on New Year's Eve 2018 and signed on for two games for about $110. The lanes kept getting stuck. They didn't have enough staff to effectively deal with it. It took over an hour to bowl 4 frames. They tried moving our family to a second set of lanes to start over, but those wouldn't start properly. The user interface on the computer systems is terrible. When we were annoyed at having spent 90 minutes struggling with trying to bowl at all and wanted a refund, they informed us that they don't give refunds. That's quite a racket to charge the money they charge, then allow their shoddy equipment and systems to deliver a crappy bowling experience, and when you don't want to deal with the waste of time any more, they won't return your money. This place is a rip-off joint. Go at your own risk. read more

Three men die instantly in a plane crash. They find themselves in some strange new realm, surrounded by beautiful women and kegs of beer. "This must be Heaven!!!", one of the men excitedly exclaims. Just then, a very glum looking gentlemen approaches the three men and states "welcome to HELL". "Hell!?!?!?!", one of the men asks, in a state of utter confusion. "I see nothing but beautiful women and kegs of beer!" "Let me explain..." the glum looking gentleman says. "Those kegs of beer...they all have holes in them...and the women...they DON'T..." Looks can be deceiving. This place draws you in because it appears clean and modern from the outside, but spend a few minutes trying to enjoy any of the games and reality quickly sets in. The floor and the machines are filthy and nothing works. They do not prioritize maintenance in any sense. The Pop-a-Shot style game's basketballs remained mostly lodged in the machine as the timer ticked away. They would come out every now and then allowing for only a handful of shots before the clock expired. Was this thing set on Carmelo Anthony mode? The water squirt gun game sprayed for a few seconds, then a message popped up on the screen in big red letters stating more water needed to be added. This game must have been made by the California State Government. The game next to it, fishing themed, had a handle that became unscrewed and was laying on the floor for who knows how long. How many Round1 employees does it take to screw in a game part? I dunno, I give up. Not far from this malfunctioning cluster was an employee themed game...a bunch of clowns standing around doing nothing, looking like they deserve to have rubber balls thrown at them. This could be fun if it wasn't for the fact that the mechanism that stands the clowns up is broken, leaving three out of the four rows permanently laying down. Get up and do your damn job you useless clowns. The claw games are complete crap as well. Everyone knows they are a scam, but these don't even maintain the illusion that you can win. The claw is essentially unresponsive to the control buttons. Swiping the preloaded credits was as much stimulation as these machines were capable of providing. On top of all this, they arrange this place like a labyrinth, making it very easy for your children, who are already in an ADHD frenzy fueled by endless flashing lights and loud noises, to scurry out of sight at a moment's notice. Combine that with a plethora of exits and a staircase, and it is a kidnapper's wet dream. read more

the bowling was fun in all BUT, the arcade upstairs is a scam it's too much to pay for 90 minutes when half of the machines don't work and are out of order. then i went back again to give it another try all the food was out except the burgers and fries but then they replaced my fries with tator tots that were dry and cold. the cheese burger was cold and tasted like outside it was gross, once i got home i had a terrible stomach and threw up multiple times. the service was terrible the cashier was confused on what to do. the wait for the food was at least an hour. read more

The employee was nice and switched us to another lane but the same thing happened and then everything shut down 7 frames in to a 10 frame game. I do like this place. I wish it had a few more old arcades. It's always busy, but the staff is pretty attentive & helpful. We started going here when the mall was considered as a "dead mall". & yet, Round1 was like a huge flagship for the mall and keeping it alive. The mall is thriving again, and the popularity with Round1 has increased as well. It's not great for me to admit, but I like to watch in awe over the people who bring gear with them to sit at the same game all day. Hey, I get it. I just am not that capable of putting all my attention into one game anymore (not since the nes). Though I do prefer the shooting games. The option at Round1 aren't too shabby. But like I said, I like older games. The prizes in the crane games are always interesting, and the BF is kinda a crane game wizard. So we always leave with a trunk full. Had a birthday party for my daughter and 11 of her friends. All and all things went well. Big complaint though, after the purchase of 4 large pizzas, 2 large party platters of wings,and a platter of fries I requested if I could have 2 boxes to take home one large pizza and some wings that were left over. Though I bought all of this food I was told I'm not allowed to get to go boxes company policy!!!! Worked here, due to miscommunication I'm fired and banned after 2 months. I worked in Amusement for a month after applying for mechanic then they moved me to facilities where I got yelled at by customers for cleaning up piss, shit, you name it. But since I know a lot of people don't know. Here's how it works. Buy a 1$ red game card, it never expires and you just reload money on to it and you save all the points on it. For the Club card it cost's 5$. (Keep in mind you have to pay 5$ per year) The 5$ Game card comes with benefits. The benefits are you save a 1$ for every 10$ or more recharge. The club card has a special feature that lets you move up in tier. So... for 10 recharges you get Silver you save 1.25$, for 30 recharges you get Gold you save 1.50$, for 50 recharges you get Platinum you save 1.75$ For Unlimited time play (Green Games Only) Red Card = 60 min. Club Card = 70 min Silver Card = 80 min Gold/Platinum = 90 min FOR KIDS! Kids Club Card has benefits just like a regular 5$ club card. But it only cost 3$ on it. And it comes with 3$ of credit already on it. It also comes with 1 free game Bowling per kid/card. As well as a free drink when purchasing 1 hour of karaoke. (You have to pay 3$ a year to keep it) You're welcome. I hated arcades even before I worked here. Parents, would you rather pay 1$ per game or save your money and buy it online? This place has soooo many fun activities but the service is TERRIBLE. IT took 26 minutes for someone to take our order while we stood in line. Two managers & two workers behind the concessions with only two orders ahead of us. No urgency, one register wasn't working & failed to relate it to the customers. I went to the Round 1 in Fox valley mall in aurora IL. I had a HORRIBLE experience. The manager was so useless and extremely rude to me and did nothing to help. He just lied to my face and smirked at every remark he made. He was short, stubby, and wore glasses. This is the type of person round1 hires to represent them? My little 11 yo brother had only 1 dollar, and the staff took his dollar and put it on a card knowing he can't use it to play because it only gives 4 credits on a card. Each game in the store is 5 credits. Why they took the money in the first place baffles me. When I arrived and heard this I asked to speak to someone because the workers didn't care to help. The manager and workers were so rude and careless they would not let me pay any amount of money to get 10 credits on his card to let an 11 year old enjoy two games when they basically stole his only dollar. They put 4 credits on a card and took his money knowing he can't use it. They basically scammed a child out of his money and didn't let me fix it no matter how hard I tried. I will NEVER return to Round 1 and neither will any family or friends, I hope you'll do the same. 0/10 for customer service, they have no heart to help a child play at a place made for children to play and instead robbed an 11 yo. My brother left the mall sad and disappointed he did not get to play any games at all after running around the store for 1 hour excited to play a game he picked out. Wow...just wow! I have been waiting for this place to open and finally made it out during my kids spring break. I tried not to have any expectations and the ones I did have were blown away lol. We arrived a little before 12pm on a weekday. It was pretty empty thankfully. We started downstairs since it does have two floors. On the first floor they have pool tables, bowling lanes, darts and a concession stand. I was so curious as to how you would get between the two floors and was surprised to see they had stairs, escalators and an elevator! Upstairs, now thats where my kind of fun is! There really is so much to see up there you should really walk around before you play anything! First you'll need to purchase a card to add credits to so you can play games. They have different cards that give different perks and obviously they're different prices. If you enjoy arcades I do suggest buying the upgraded card for the perks. There is something for every type of arcade lover. They have some classic games that you win tickets from and some carnival styled games too. There is also a section with games like DDR and Guitar Hero type games but they are slightly different. If you love claw games...well, they have a ton! And the prizes are sooooo cute!! So many plushies! I'm really holding back inserting "kawaii" emojis lol My favorite section is upstairs near the main entrance...they have Inital D racing games!! Initial D is an anime lol Thats also where you'll find the fighting games...like Tekken 7 and street fighter. You can purchase time if you want to play friends instead of swiping the card over and over. If you're not into those they also have karaoke lounges that you can rent time in. Complete with a little stage and everything! I've never been to japan (hopefully one day!) but I get the feeling as those the actual arcade area is like an American/Japanese style arcade and I love it! I absolutely plan on spending a ton of free time here with or without my kids lol oh and they're open till 2am all week long apparently! read more

Felicia was outstanding and gave my friends and I helpful tips on how to win from the claw machines she provided probably the best customer service experience I have ever had. I also would like to recognize Alexander he was the first staff member I came in contact with when I arrived he was at the cash rep and was so friendly and helpful. read more

We hosted a birthday party here for an 8 year old: Management couldn't help us with arcade cards that were intermittently not working - they only give unlimited play for a handful of arcade games. The manager told me to call "corporate" if I had any concerns about that. Yup, I'll step away from my kids birthday and alienate my guests to call corporate. They needed to make sure people finished their ice cream before giving us another scoop -- a couple kids dropped their ice cream and they wouldn't just courtesy replace it. I spent about $450 on this event. Lol what a waste. Food came out in piecemeal - we prepaid for lots of food and they didn't bring plates or enough cups and it was truly embarrassing as my guests had to constantly go up to the staff and ask for help. Additionally you are not allowed to get "to go" containers for the food that's on the table. I mean it's going to be thrown away and we paid for it so we argued to get to go containers for the food already on the table. The manager seemed bothered by all our concerns and I even expressed to her I was embarrassed in front of our friends. I recommend considering Bowlero or another facility as their service has been stellar compared to this place. read more

Do not bother coming here on the weekend as long as there are COVID restrictions. They are at max capacity as early as noon and you have to wait to get in. Then, once you actually get inside, there is still a 90 minute wait just to bowl. They don't open more than three lanes at a time. The wait for the food is long and the staff is rude. It's been awhile since our last visit so when the family came over we decided it was time for another trip. While their karaoke system may not be top notch, with the most updated song selection including Asian songs, the price couldn't be better. Plus karaoke is the best with famiy and friends! The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. There was an issue regarding our room and Jessica was quick to step in and help us. Asenath was also quite patient with our fail attempts at winning plushies. She was willing to explain how to play and was all smiles with every reset.
