    Paella for 2
    Edison H.

Came here on Sunday evening shortly after opening. Reservation wasn't needed at this time. The service was a bit slow despite not having a full restaurant. Water took forever and we felt other people had seen the server more than we've had. The food was decent. We only ordered their paella for two and that was more than enough. They do have outdoor seating which seems to be the preferred choice. We sat inside and ended up dealing with flies. Appreciate the parking availability though! That's one less thing to worry about.

My husband and I tried this place while visiting Carmel valley . Service was impeccable. Our food came out quickly and was so tasty . Our only mistake was ordering too much . We started with the scallop appetizer . This was so delicious ! We also got the French onion soup and seafood soup . Both were good but the French onion was to die for. The seafood pasta was fantastic along with the baked lobster . Our pup was allowed inside and had mini burgers . The crème brûlée and chocolate cake were so tasty . Enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Pinot Noir from Bernardus. We will be back !

Easy last minute reservation made. Great patio; stifling inside. Friendly service. Keeping name, there's been a change of owner and executive chef since here last. On this visit: hearty "Heirloom Tomatoes with Burrata"; standout brandy sauce with undercooked shrimps "Gambas with Brandy"; and, an amazing abundance of seafood, chorizo, chicken but with no socarrat whatsoever found in their "Spanish 'paella' Surf & Turf". Cheers!

Made a reservation for Christmas Day for 7:30. Called half an hour before my reservation to confirm that they were serving their full menu and not a "Christmas Menu" as some restaurants were doing, otherwise we would have found somewhere closer to eat. Someone answered and said yes. Drove 30 minutes to find the restaurant completely closed down, it did not look like they were even open today. I understand completely that most businesses are closed for Christmas but to have reservations available online, answer the phone and confirm their menu and then end up being closed is completely unprofessional. (They even had reservations available at 8pm, their closing time, which makes zero sense.)

Their white wine sangria is so refreshing. I heard they used to sell it to-go during covid because it was so popular. They use fresh fruits like oranges, mango, peach and it blended so well with the white wine. We enjoyed their tuna tartare with taro chips. The chips were thin and crispy and went well with the fish and avocados. We also got the chicken and seafood paella, which was tasty but honestly a bit heavy, but I think all paellas are like that. Come hungry! Oh and they didn't take card when we went. Cash or Venmo only.

This is a really nice and trendy restaurant in Carmel Valley. I dined outdoors with two little ones and felt very comfortable. They have baby chairs available upon request. I arrived on a Saturday right when they opened and guests quickly filled up the dining space. It seems like folks come here for mimosas and small bites. I tried the pomme frites, house smoked pulled pork sandwich, orange glazed chicken skewers, and the house beer batter alaskan cod sandwich. Everything looked really pretty and presentable. The fries were crunchy and not overly oily. The pulled pork sandwich was a tad on the sweet side, but came with a nice purple cabbage slaw that balanced the meal. The salad was rich and creamy. The bread was fresh and soft. The chicken skewers were soft and had a nice touch of orange glaze that was not overly sweet. The cod sandwich was crunchy and not oily. It tasted pretty good and fresh. The food was made quickly and there was absolutely no wait. The waiters are attentive and come out often. There is free street parking, and a few spots specifically for the restaurant right out front. This was the first restaurant out in the Carmel area in my experience that either took cash or Venmo. Venmo was convenient as there was a QR code. Perhaps the COVID precautions here are different as I did not see workers wear masks or hand sanitizers readily available.

We were here for our Anniversary weekend as we were staying at Carmel Valley Ranch close by. It's cash only. Not sure if it was always like this. No problem for me. We came 2 times once on a Friday, the other on Sunday. Parking can be a challenge as there are many places to eat. My wife and friends got the paella which they loved. I had Tuna Tartare with avocado under and it was delish. Found out they also sell wine. Ate outside on a very nice day. Wait staff was very good . We will be back

Duck confit with mushroom ravioli and tuna tartare with taro chips
    Kenneth S.

Long time no Yelp review! Attracted to this place cause of the duck options on Yelp! The interior was very intimate and classy - a very nice date night location. They have a full page of wine to choose from though I opted out cause I just had some pain meds. My girlfriend did partake in white sangria which was quite refreshing (couldn't help but try haha). They have a nice selection of small plates available with pastas and entrees. I haven't had tuna tartare when I felt satisfied. Typically, you get too little taro chips or not enough tartare but this was a good balance. I felt it had enough tang though my girlfriend felt it was just so-so. The duck confit with mushroom ravioli was fire! It was very savory and the meat felt like it melted in my mouth after it fell off the bone. I was able to taste the truffle oil and it had a delicious mix off flavors with the mushroom ravioli, sauteed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, and roasted squash. The yucca fries had a crispy exterior and just can't get enough of the chipotle aioli, ask for more! We got there an hour prior to closing but they were able to serve us their paella for 2! We did ask for it to go since it took a bit to be prepped and but it was worth the wait. The Spanish surf and turf was good with chicken sausage shrimp veggies and rice and tasty spices. I really like that it survived a 15 min drive without drying out in that box! Be warned, it might not look a lot in the pic but it really is for 2. Definitely would return for date night in Carmel Valley!

Had a very nice date lunch here with my wife while we dropped the toddler off at a friends for a play date. It's a small spot with a wine cellar vibe inside, pretty patio seating outside. The service was friendly and attentive. All of the food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The shrimp all was tasty, my wife loved her gnocchi and the steak for my steak frites was cooked perfectly. I feel like it's really hard to get a perfectly medium rare steak anymore. This chef clearly knows what he's doing!

The food, especially the brussels sprouts and scallops as an appetizer are amazing! The service is impeccable and top notch. I came here about two years ago and still the food keeps my attention. I actually dream about the Brussels sprouts,Definitely worth a try and highly recommend coming here to this slice of heaven!

We snuck in without a reservation, and got seated immediately. A quick look at the menu indicated that this place was full Spanish as far as food. It took us a few minutes and we elected to go with the Chicken and Chorizo Paella, and an order of the Empanadas. The Empanadas come in a flight of 4, so it was two per person. They were quite tasty, and came with a small dish of a creamed hot sauce, which worked great with the empanadas. The Paella came out - it was a 30 minute cook time. The spices and the chicken and chorizo worked so well together. We had to find a wine that would work with this, and we went with a Derby Tempranillo. It was light enough to work, and cut the grease in the dish like a laser. We finished up with a Limoncello Tort, which was tasty. Ambiance is kind of mondernesque, with interesting power and gridwork overhead, and some sound deadening panels on the walls. There is a lot of art, so take some time to look around and appreciate it.

The junction paella- was very delicious, the depth of flavor was amazing and the Spanish chorizo was delicious and the chicken was really good. The rice just had these amazing flavors and had some heat as well. The mushroom empanadas were just amazing, the dough was crisp and buttery, the mushroom mix was so very delicious and the sauce they gave was such a perfect complement to the dish. The patatas bravas was my favorite to be honest... it's such a simple dish but it's just so good. The sauces and crispy textures of the potato were just delicious. Me and my wife came here at the end of our roadtrip And it's about 4 hours from where we live lol... but we enjoyed it so Much we would make the trip just to eat here again.

Don't bring your sober friends here...they will be kicked out for not spending money. Met a group of friends here for a show and drinks. My friends had been at the bar for about two hours, ate food and ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of drinks. They had been over served and slurring their speech by the time I got there. ARE WE IN SILICON VALLEY? 4.5…read more One might never know this restaurant exists, tucked away near a Google business park just off Highway 101. You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Heard of this place for a couple years and finally got to try it on a business dinner. In the past…read morewhen I checked it out, I didn't find the menu extensive. Today I was happy with the food, more to that later. First off, this place is not so easy for me to find. There's a blue glass building outside, which misled me to drive around, looking for somewhere else. Would be better to have a sign somewhere more visible on the street. The place was well decorated with hanging plants and gave a calm, peaceful, and open feeling. It feels great to be inside. It's also a good setting for business HH or gatherings. We started with the drinks, and I tried the Goat Gibson, thinking it must be their signature cocktail since it has their name on it. I don't like it at all. It's too savory for my palate. My Vietnamese coworker saw the ingredient list had fish sauce, and he took an interest in it. After having a few sips, he also didn't like it. The Blush Spritz was a lot more normal for a cocktail. Overall, we found the cocktails pricy for the size offered. They also ran out of Laughing Monk which was the only beer our coworkers were interested in. The food on the other hand was better. We had: -Goat empanadas: great bakery skills on the wrapping, fragrant and buttery -Crispy Quinoa + Tuna Poke Salad: fresh tuna, everyone loves the dressing -Roasted Asparagus: interesting presentation with flowers covering the asparagus. We had to dig in to find the asparagus but they tasted good and fresh. -Wood-fired Mary's chicken: half a chicken, the meat was juicy with few bones -Sticky Pork Shank: This is the best. It came with a whole knuckle-sized portion of meat on a bone. At first I was surprised that they didn't offer any serving knives but only a tong. Amazingly, the meat was so soft that the tong was the only tool we needed to break up the meat. Super soft and juicy meat with lettuce leaves on the side to mimic a Korean wrap. -Daily special of Hamachi Collar: not bad, but I prefer the Japanese hamachi kama way of cooking. This one is a big collar that had a lot of meat, but I felt like too much meat could easily make the cooking uneven. One thing we noticed though, is all 3 large plates have very similar salad on the side, all the same pickled onions. It would be good to have some differences among dishes. We also tried their Pandan Flan for dessert. I was expecting a green flan, so when a white flan appeared, it took me by surprise a bit. It did have the pandan taste once I spooned in. And the crispy rice was a pleasant addition to the dish. Lastly, onto service. We had to wait till the party was mostly there to be seated. But our waiter service was good. He gave us good suggestions and kept our water filled. Dirty dishes were also cleaned up timely. All in all we are satisfied with the meal. Some mentioned they would come back. With Google and other big companies around them, they are not short of business. Making a reservation is essential.
