My at-home manicures last longer than this. The polish application was uneven, streaky, and overall very blotchy. It looked rushed and poorly done. My pedicure experience was even worse. The technician seemed distracted after having a disagreement with the previous customer, and it showed in her work. The service felt very performative--she applied scrub but didn't actually massage or work it into my skin, skipped lotion entirely, and barely spent time on my feet. At one point, she even scratched me with the pumice stone by dragging it harshly across the bottom of my foot. They also don't offer disposable sandals, which led to my freshly painted toes getting smudged almost immediately. That alone was frustrating. I won't post my toes but it's just like my manicure. While the person who did my manicure paid more attention to my cuticles, the polish itself was just as bad--thick, stringy, and clumpy. It honestly seemed like the salon uses low-quality or old polish. The most concerning part, though, was what I witnessed regarding sanitation. After finishing with a client, tools were rinsed in the sink, placed back into the same "sterile" sleeve, set on the same towel in their cart, and then transferred into a new sleeve. That completely defeats the purpose of sterilization. On top of that, I realized afterward that a drill bit was used on my nails without being changed out for a new one. I called them to check for an open walk in which they were available. I get there and asked if they could do cat eyes on my nails. She said yes and got started. When it came time to paint the nails the tech realized that she forgot to bring the magnet. She fumbled around looking for it, and then they asked me to come back tomorrow. I didn't have time to do that so I just decided to get blue glitter gel. She hands me green glitter gel because they didn't have blue. I didn't like the green so I decided to just get regular nail polish. So she puts on a top coat of some sort and sticks my hand under the UV lamp. She puts on the REGULAR nail polish and proceeds to put my hands (with regular nail polish) under the UV light. I was confused and asked her if it was gel. She told me it was regular polish. She puts on a top coat of some sort and sticks my hand back under the UV. She tells me we are done. I asked her if my nails were dry enough for me to get the money out to pay her. She said yes. NOPE. The polish was still super fresh and smudged all over the place, getting on my clothes and my skin. Why? Why were you putting my nails under the UV gel light? Like for what? It doesn't even help with drying. I'm not a nail tech, so I didn't know if there was a top coat you could put over regular nail polish to seal it. I guess not. And so I left the salon with this set of nails. This was in the car right after I walked out. I paid for the service, and still tipped, but I drove directly across the street and had to get them redone. Waste of time and money. I understand that people have off days sometimes, and that is why I still paid and tipped. But I won't be back. Terrible experience.
