I've been coming here for a while now for a basic, straight trim, nothing fancy. Recently I decided to drastically cut my hair from waist length to my shoulders. Didn't think it was anything much different than getting my normal trim, just a lot more inches. Came in and was seen by Sally. She cut my hair with a razor and I immediately noticed that she had cut my hair much shorter than I wanted. On top of that my hair was uneven and choppy. I wanted one length but ended up with an A frame cut because I didn't want her to cut anymore off. She ended up not charging me because she felt bad and offered to fix it when it grew back in 2 months. While I appreciate the gesture, I think it's safe to say I won't be coming back. read more

I love this place! After trying several nail salons, this is the only place I will go for my gel manicures. The ladies are friendly and do excellent work! I appreciate the time they spend preparing my nails, and their artistry always impresses me. I show them a pic of nail art I found online, and they copy. My nails always look healthy and beautiful when I leave. The quality of the work also shows in how long my manicures last. I can go four weeks without seeing any grow out at the cuticle, and no chipping! My last appointment sealed the deal for me that these ladies really are the best. They went above and beyond. My appointment was on a Friday at 4:30 (they close at 6:00). This particular night, they had a big family birthday party to attend that started at 6:00. Rather than rush the job and cut corners so they could be done, get ready, and head to their party, they insisted on giving me the full usual treatment. When I suggested we skip the nail art so they could get ready, they refused. I tried so hard to help them get out on time, while they insisted they do their best work regardless of the time. They worked on my nails until 6:00 pm! Having a happy, satisfied customer was more important than being late to a party. So much respect for them! read more

I give kudos to all these nail salons who moved heaven and earth to keep their services available during the lockdown. Artistry was one of the few salons willing to do services outside at the time, and I was so thankful they were there for us. You talk about businesses being able to pivot; it was like a merry go round. How did any small business make it? I don't know. We usually used Sofia. She was great. Kudos to this place. I wish them nothing but success. I say this in the past tense because I'm now retired and we are moving. But when we come back to the Pocket neighborhood; I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. Went in today with a Groupon I scored for a haircut. Groupon is a good way to try new places out. Well, I wouldn't go back again. First, he shaved part of my bear on both sides randomly so now my beard looks ridiculous. I didn't ask for my beard to be cut. Second, my hair is supposed to be a faded Mohawk. It looks more like a flat top with a V in the back. The whole top of my head still has hair! I just said thank you and gave my voucher and then called my regular person to ask them for an appointment to fix it tomorrow! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made a waxing appointment with Sally on Thur July 11, 2024. The appointment was originally for full arms and legs but the experience was so horrible that I didn't continue with any services beyond half arms. Sally is the one that performed the wax services on me. To begin, the wax itself was very unsanitary. She used the same stick on me the entire time and each time would wax same stick in the wax. Second, Sally bruised my arms with the wax. She applied a large amount of wax on my arm, got a phone call, attended to the call and left the room on the phone ALL while the wax was still on my arm. The wax can only be on there for a few seconds before it has to be removed with a strip. The wax was already beyond removable when she attempted it first made my arm pink and I could see the skin peeling and now I'm left with a nasty brown permanent stain. She did something similar with my inner elbow. She left the wax on for too long and then used the same strip she applied on another area to pull off the wax and had to do it multiple times instead of using a new strip to remove the wax leaving a bruise. On top of that she didn't take any accountability and got irritated with me for telling her that she bruised me. read more

So glad I found this spot!! I'm very picky with my gel manicure, and this is the best gel manicure spot in Sacramento. I've been going to Jenny, she tries to cater to what you would like. She didn't get my nail shape perfect the first time, but she has me figured out after a few times!! I keep going back bcuz of the service and her work - It lasts 3-4 weeks without peeling. Love it! I've been waiting to write this review because I'm not sure how I feel about my experience here but I think I can say I don't think I will be returning. I read the reviews & saw many were good so I thought I would try it out. Make note many of the reviews are for pedi/mani. Sounds like they do a really good job in that area but I don't know & don't think I will schedule any future appts. This review is for hair only. Sally did my partial highlight/trim. She was nice but I truly believe I could've been done a lot sooner had she not been working on other clients in between. I totally get that she wants to be able to take on all our customers even if they just drop by & need something done real quick. I know some she asked them to schedule an appt either for later in the day or whatever time but there were a couple she took on ASAP when I prob should've been rinsed instead or not have to sit under the heat for so long on multiple occasions. Like the time she rinsed my hair & I was ready to blow dry & trim/style but I sat under the heat to dry my hair til she was done with the other client. Or the time she had me lay in the back sink with shampoo or something & said it was good for my hair after she worked on another client 15mins later. I watched the clock that hung & counted the min. Then I finally got my rinse after she was done with her client. There was one other client who was there before me & she must've been there for 2.5hrs+. I was there for at least 2 hrs. As for the partial highlight, some parts turned out ok a bit lighter than what I wanted. I noticed certain parts were extra lightened in patches after I got home. I don't think this salon is for me so I won't be coming back. read more

Tony cut my daughter's hair and she is very upset. We specifically told him to only take 1 inch off. We showed him how she had dead ends on the bottom inch of her hair and that's the only part we wanted cut off but he ended up cutting about 4-5 inches off. And we couldn't even stop him during the cut. His first cut was about 3-4 inches from the bottom. Don't go here. read more

This is an overdue review. Sofia is AMAZING!!!!!! I've gotten my nails done with her several times and she's fabulous!!! She'd always take her time to make sure that everything looks perfect and the gel nails would always last at least 4-6 weeks. The price? I've been coming here since my daughter was in 7th grade and she just recently graduate high school. My sister comes here as well as my friends. The service here is beyond expectations as well as the flexibility of their schedule. I get my nails done here, my haircuts, color you name it I've got it all done here and am happy with all services rendered. This is The Place! I've been looking for a salon to get my nails done, hair cut and styled, and No traveling to do so. Lo and behold! This little hole in the wall (it's a magic cavern, I think, where beauty happens!) called Artistry Salon & Spa. Looks average, but the service! Ach! Jenny and Sofia will make Van Gogh drool at your fingertips. Even their solid colors are true perfect little gems at the ends of your fingers and toes. I have been going there for 3 years now. They have special seats for kid's haircuts and Sally and Tony cut their hair. It's so fun to see great big men in their massage pedicure chairs getting their feet done! With all their wonder, it's a quiet place. There's two manicurists, Sophia and Jenny, sisters by the way. Hairstylist Sally and Tony, the man of the room, cutter and stylist. Everyone is sooo nice! You can chat all day or read a book, your vibe. They also provide waxing, eyebrow taming, hair coloring, perms, facials, I just haven't indulged. I suggest you do! I had a Mani Pedi today with Sophia. She did a fabulous job. She took the time to do really great work instead of rushing me through like some salons. I will definitely be back to see her. She really takes her time on everything unlike other nail salons I've been to where it's all about speed. My fiancé came in to get a haircut today and was serviced by the male barber that works there. He works really fast and doesn't bother you with a bunch of small talk, so if that's what you're looking for come here! I showed the barber a couple photos of what style we were looking for and they delivered!
