I've been having issues with my tire, I did not want to spend on ONE new tire. Glad I stopped by this place, I got a great deal for a used tire and in good condition but before I bought the tire. I originally came for air, Jesus was very helpful and kind. He was not pushy about selling me a tire but more so understanding of what I needed at the moment. I'm not even sure if I can make it anywhere closer and they have all the people here just decided to close anyways . horrible place . if you are in a bind and need a tire or anything don't come here . they will leave you stranded. read more

BEWARE: Rowlett Discount Tire and Auto Today, my niece took her car in to get two tires replaced due to tread wear. Her car has pressure sensors in the tires like many cars do now. When she drove away, one tire was reporting as zero. She went back to the shop and they claim there was not a sensor in the tire. Odds are, the tech accidentally broke it when removing the tire. They refuse to accept any responsibility or even the possibility they made an error. Be careful when you do business with them and be watchful of the Techs when they work on your car. Do not drive away until all of your tires are reporting pressure again. read more

You only want to use these jack butt's if there's nothing else left in the world. They are low down and mistreat black folks. All I needed was my tirss checked to report back to Audi of Plano the issue. I had already called and was advised it was free to diagnost the tire once I got here and he saw was black he charged me $10 dollars. So sad how these business are. For the last 5 years I have used this place to get used tires because they were always $25. Even after we moved I kept making the drive out here.. 6 months ago I came to get a tire..it cost $25.. Went here with my boyfriend because we popped a hole in his tire. My boyfriend patched it as best he could and we came straight here to see if we could get a professional patch, or if the one my boyfriend did was holding. The MANAGER said "we don't do patches on Sunday. Come back Tuesday".... My boyfriend asked if he could at least come look at it..... he did hesitantly. My boyfriend preceded to ask if he had an air compressor to bring the psi to normal and the manager extremely rudely said "what do you think!?" They get 0 stars from me today! For years I've given them my business. Yesterday they changed my tire and the tech didn't put my Mercedes stem cap on instead I got a regular one. Which was in my opinion an honest oversight, no big deal. I call this morning to let them know. The guy tells me to come back he'll put it on. I told him my husband would come pick it up since I'm in Dallas. My husband goes to pick it up and the owner is beyond rude and disrespectful. They couldn't find it and so he asks my husband if he expects him to pay for it? Then rudely invites my husband to go look for it. Not looking to get something free, just looking for them to do the right thing and makeup for a mistake that was made on their part. I just bought these stem caps not even a month ago. He begrudgingly gave my husband $8 (which doesn't even fully cover the cost) and says don't come back. Talk about awful service. I wasn't going back anyway. He is not the only tire shop in town and I wouldn't want to support a business who handles their mistakes this way. read more

I am a small business owner so I called the shop to ask for clarification before writing this review because I feel like all businesses should have a chance to make things right. My two teenage daughters came here to fix a groaning/squeaking noise in one of their cars. Connor inspected the car and let them know that the front rotors needed to be replaced because they were bad and it would stop the squeaking noise. He even specifically said that the back rotors were not the issue because the noise was coming from the front. My daughter had just replaced the brake pads at a previous place that had told her that the brake pads were the problem, so she was already pretty skeptical of anyone offering such an easy fix for this groaning/squeaking noise. She asked him "so are you sure this will fix the problem?" Connor said "Yes, this noise is coming from the front rotors." My daughters had to go to a different store to pick up rotors and they came back to have them replaced. As Connor was driving the car up to let the girls get back in to leave, it made the same horrific noise as before. He informed them that it was actually the back rotors making the noise now and that they don't do those and then proceeded to hand them the bill. My daughter paid for the bill, drove away in her squeaking/ groaning car, and promptly called me crying. The front rotors were replaced. Thank you very much. You said that they noise sounded better than before, but I can tell you without a doubt, it is the same noise. A customer went in for a specific problem, paid you for the solution you promised to offer, and left with the same problem. Even if it wasn't intentional for you to not realize that it was the back rotors and not the front making that horrible noise, I feel like there could have been so many other things that you could have done to help make this situation correct. Maybe, at the very least, apologizing to my teenage daughter who is a full time student and can only work part time for $9.50/hour, who paid for this work with the promise that it would fix the problem?? Maybe a full refund or at least a partial refund on the labor, since she now she has to go to a different place altogether to solve the problem you promised you could fix? I clean homes for a living and to me it seems like this. Let's say a client, who is short on money, hired me because their bathroom smelled. I go in there and see their dirty bathtub and tell them, "yea I found the problem and its definitely the tub that's making the bathroom smell." I go and clean the tub and present them with a bill for the work I did on the tub. The client comes home and says "dude, the bathroom still smells," and I say "oh yea, well not as bad right? And anyway man, that's because the toilet needs to be cleaned, but I don't do those." Did I clean the tub? Yes. Did I fix the problem? No. Who is right here?? I guess you have to decide that for yourself. I'm not saying he didn't replace the front rotors. I'm saying he didn't fix the problem when he said he would. When I called after the incident, Connor explained what happened several different times. Although frustrated with me, he tried to nicely help me understand his side of the story. Again, I understand that you fixed the front rotors, which you said needed to be replaced. But what never happened or was explained, was why you promised you could fix a groaning squeaking noise, didn't fix it, and then didn't do anything to make it right or even attempt to admit or apologize that maybe you could have done something differently in the situation. My family and I have gone here for tires for the last couple of years and have never had an issue. I always liked the staff and they have always taken good care of me. This complete lack of customer service in this issue, however, has lost them, at least, our business. I'm sure they couldn't care less because what is one family in the grand scheme of things, but I have an honest, good natured, hard working teenager who was told that replacing the front rotors, and not the back, would solve the problem and now must again save her pennies to try to fix this problem, for a third time. Lesson for me?? Read reviews before going somewhere. If I had looked on Yelp, I probably wouldn't have gone here in the first place for tires, would never have referred my driving teens to them for all of their tire needs, and would have saved myself and them the trouble. read more

Had an appointment for 8/29 to get tires replaced on my wife's vehicle. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes even though I had an appointment, which was unacceptable. To top it off, a phone charger was missing from the vehicle as well. I called the Store Manager, Eddie, and he stammered through his speech of apologizing for a delay of the installation. I brought up the stolen item and his tone changed and he accused us of misplacing it or lying. Did not say he would look into it, just immediately denied liability, which makes me think that I'm not the first consumer with a stolen item complaint. I will be filing a police report with the Rowlett Police Department. I have been using Discount Tire for over ten years and I have never been disrespected in such a manner as Eddie has done. So I roll into Rowlett Discount Tire & Auto at 5:55 to ask if they could do an oil change. They said, 'Sure, pull into this bay.' I asked if morning would be better since they close at 6pm. He says, 'Whatever you would like to do sir. If you want to do it now, come on in.' I was out by 6:20 and guys were very attentive to my needs and did not try to rush me or even start closing down register while I was in waiting room. Did a front end alignment in 2 hours despite having a million cars there

I have been coming here for years and have never had a negative experience. They always are up front about what you need and their prices are fair. I do think the initial point of contact could use some work/improvement. I know to first check the garage and see if someone is free and if they aren't to go inside and wait,but I remember being a little confused when I first brought my car here. I never have to wait long,however, and they always explain anything that needs to be done and what the cost is. read more

Initially I went to Walmart, mind you it was 8am on a Tuesday morning. I waited for about 5 mins. Until one of the service pit crew finally came and told me it was going to be a 2 hour wait for an oil change. Left quickly and was referred by my father to go to Rowlett Discount- these guys are professional, and do great work I was taken care of immediately, and I left as a happy customer. So I called and asked to see if they fix trailer tires and they said yes on the phone. I told them I have a dump trailer and it has a flat, I don't want a new tire just for them to plug the one I have. Once I got here an gentlemen told me they to touch trailer tires. I told him I spoke to some one and they said yes. He went and asked around to see who I spoke with and everyone one said they didn't speak to me about a trailer tire. I spoke to them literally 30 min before. I called just so I don't waste my time driving to them. It's a waste of time to come here and he told me over the phone it was going to be $20 dollars and when I asked the guy now in person how much it is to plug a tire he says $10. My wife and I were on our way to my bro-in-law's house in Garland. We live in Wills Point. We needed a couple of used tires (budget didn't allow new) and saw Discount Tire and Auto on Hwy 66 in Rowlett. So we pulled in and they got to us fairly quickly. The tires looked good, had good tread on them, so we paid and proceeded on our way. When we were ready to leave, about 5:45pm, we got to the van only to discover that the driver side tire we had purchased was flat. I called the tire shop only to be told they were about to close and that I had probably ran over something. Upon further inspection we found the hole. It was where a previous plug had gone bad and was now leaking. So we went to O'Reilly's and got a plug kit and I plugged a tire for the first time in my life. It got us home okay but when we got up this morning it was flat again. We live quite a distance from this tire shop, which I told the person on the phone. It would have been real nice for them to stay open just a little late to fix the tire. In the first place, they shouldn't be selling tires that have been plugged without patching them up. I am very disappointed in their attitude and their lousy tires even if they are used. read more

I went to this location today and the guy that does the state inspections didn't know how to do the state inspection on my vehicle. I tried to explain to him that ford in 1997 didn't configure the F250 HD model with OBD II. He didn't even try to figure out what I meant. He kept thinking I was trying to tell him to do something illegal. My vehicle was equipped OBD 1 and is only required to conduct a safety. I went down the street to Golden Rule Auto and they knew exactly what I was talking about with no issues. They were very understanding and listened to my unique situation. Complete waste of my time. Terrible customer service and complete lack of knowledge on state inspection criteria for my vehicle. read more

Hell NO!!! DON'T GO! As a previous small business owner I try very hard to support my local businesses, but these guys really don't deserve it. I went in to buy 2 used tires and get an alignment for my Ford Escape. I was hoping of finding a local place to use for all my (4) vehicles in the future and they proved to be a very bad choice. First, the guy only rolled in one of the two tires to show me (not a good sign) and when I asked about the other tire he said he would have to get it down and it would take a minute, but assured me they were exactly the same tires. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and trusted he was being honest and told him that was ok not to worry about it. He was bold face lying! When I took it in for oil change, I found out that one of the tires was in fact a 2012, not a 2016, in fact neither of them are 2016 that was a straight up lie, and my brakes were so bad the rotor was scraping the caliper, something these guys never once mentioned. C'mon guys, is this what you do to every one, or just women? Next, the alignment. My car drove fine but, I figured with replacing two tires it would be a good time to get an alignment since it had been over a year. I noticed it was pulling to the left but didn't think much of it until I headed to work a couple days later and had to drive over 40mph. It pulled so hard to the left, I had to push my steering to the right just to stay in the lane. When I went in to ask about it the guy was so rude, he didn't even let me finish before interrupting me and telling me "No, we don't do warranty, you have to pay full price for another alignment." He kept arguing that it had been months since I was in, even though I had the receipt for two weeks ago. In fact, everyone in the waiting room was shocked at how rudely he spoke to me. I left, called the manager and he was very nice and talked me into coming back. They walked me through the alignment and gave me a bunch of reasons why it was my car and not the alignment. My car still pulls so hard core to the left, I feel it's dangerous to drive. Needless to say, I was disappointed that guy lied to may face about the dated tires and blamed the bad alignment on my cars age and previous accident - although it never drove like that before. Once again feeling duped by an auto shop, I resorted to taking the time to post a review. I will never go back. You shouldn't waste your time either. When it comes to auto repair, trust is huge, especially for women. We need auto shops we can trust and count on to look out for the best interest of the condition of our vehicles that we drive our families in. I guess it's back to the big monopolizing auto shops for me, at least they can be held accountable for this type of dishonesty and treatment of customers. And for the record, no I'm not some raging, over-dramatic lady who has unattainable expectations, I just wanted two nice used tires that match and an alignment. Now I have to pay to get it done all over again and take my business elsewhere. SMH read more

Initial customer service/greeting needs work, but I had a bolt in my tire and was in & out with a plug in about 10 min for $10. The guy that repaired my tire had GREAT customer service! Don't go here!!!!!!! My mother went there to get a new tire. When she left the tire flew off and almost hit someone else and sent her car crashing into the ground. The guy forgot to tighten it up. The were apologetic and said they would pay for the damage to her vehicle but they never did. read more

We purchased four tires from this company and initially had an ok experience with them. Not great, but typical of many auto places. They took their time but got it done. Less than six months later all four tires needed to be replaced because they were almost bald. We went back to them, expecting them to honor the warranty, but they flat out refused to do anything. They just said that the tires were fine and didn't need to be replaced. We couldn't pass our state inspection with the tires so we had to go somewhere else and to once again buy four new tires. Lesson learned. We will never return to this place. read more
