2.5 stars Probably a fine place to get a watch battery or buy some jewelry. But here's the review I wish I'd had to go by when we went here first with some gold/silver we wanted to sell. Do your homework and check monex dot com first for the going rate. Many other places will tell you outright, "We pay Spot minus $50 or Spot minus $xx." Even the place that shares space with a cell phone dealer had a much better price on silver. That's just sad. Most other places we've tried since have given us much better prices as well as providing an price/receipt for each item sold. This was not the case in our situation as we were just presented a total price for the lot. Another reason you might want to try someplace else: It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Was about to quickly turn around and leave when Mr. Armen (the dad) came out to greet us. Still can't believe I stayed in there so long. Do yourself a favor and (a) do your research online first and then (b) get another dealer's price before going here. read more

I have always been a skeptic of these gold exchange places assuming they were glorified pawn shops or something. Well, cleaning out one of my storage bins I found some old watches and rings I completely forgot I stored or even still had. Considering I had no idea I still had them I figured I would use these as test items to see for myself what these are all about. I stopped in last Tuesday and spoke to the guy behind the counter about my watches and rings. I figured I would be haggled and undercut and told he would "gladly" take these and "give" me a "deal". This was not the case at all. The guy behind the counter was really courteous and completely non-invasive. He cleaned them up a bit and then told me what the market value was for the day for him to buy them from me and that was it. No bs or shady dealings at all. I actually have a few more items collecting some dust that I told him I would bring back. If you are the skeptic type like me I will verify this place is pretty legitimate about their dealings. I don't have a TON of old gold jewelry(never wore it) but what little I did have actually got me a fair amount of cash in my pocket. read more

I highly recommend to not go here. My boyfriend and I came here to exchange a PS CO Sterling Silver bowl for weight. Sad part is when the gentleman that we spoke to came back with the bowl and said it wasn't silver and that it was plated. Well my bf and I have our own silver and gold acid test kit and it proved to be silver. The bowl was also stamped "PS CO STERLING". My bf then asked then why does it say sterling and he replied i dont know. My bf then asked "so in other words youre just not interested?" And he replied no. This was a horrible 1st experience for me. I really wish he would've just been honest and said he wasn't interested instead of lying and saying it's plated because we brought it to another shop and they confirmed it was solid silver and we were able to walk out with some money. Great experience! Went to have some earrings repaired, they were fixed and looked perfect within minutes. The gentleman that helped me was very sweet. I had some old jewelry also that was just sitting in my jewelry box and nothing I would consider having repaired or wearing again. He was honest with me about the value as far as weight goes. I chose to keep a couple of pieces; he cleaned and polished them up like new; again at no charge. I will definitely be back to have some more earrings repaired. I recently had work done to a necklace at a big name jewelry shop in the shopping strip at firewheel mall... It was a horrible experience for me they ruined a very sentimental necklace, I left the firewheel jewelry shop in tears and was going home in rowlett when I decided to get a 2 opinion on the crappy job. I Google a place here in rowlett and gold and silver change came up. I walked in and found out my necklace was ruined but the men were so compassionate and carrying of the situation that they wanted to make things right at no charge to me due to what had just happened to me. So I left to think about the deal they offered me of shorting the necklace which was really all that could be done at this point. It would no longer fit my husband but would fit me. So after a day of thinking about it, I went back. The owner, his son and the employee where still so compassionate and carrying. They fixed at no cost, Fixed something that another company had messed up,,,, (nasr brother company from firewheel mall) I am so grateful for that. They made a horrible situation better. Hopefully you guys read this... Thank you do much for what you 3 did. I'm very grateful and if I need anything done I will come to you guys only... :) May the Lord bless you for what you have done. To my amazement they sized my ring for free AND they polished it up for me. I had told them about an expensive ring I liked and they had offered to custom make one for me. I live in Rowlett and needed a watch battery for a diving watch since I'm headed on a trip to Cancun next week. I stopped in and the staff was very friendly. The guy said he would have to take my watch to another shop since the watch was sealed under pressure and he didn't have what he needed to replace the battery. Made sense so I said OK.My watch was functioning perfectly prior the the battery going dead. I picked up my watch today and on my way out I tried to reset the stop watch/chronograph and it zeros out on 6 seconds.... I tried it several times but couldn't get it to zero out on the 12 like it should. One of the guys noticed i was having trouble and tried it as well and couldn't get it to zero out properly. He handed the watch back to me and said, oh well. No offers to try and repair the watch or refund the $20 I spent to have them replace the battery and break my watch. To add insult to injury, I got home, went through the mail and found a Valpack coupon for a FREE WATCH BATTERY REPLACEMENT from the Rowlett Gold & Silver Exchange.
