This is easily my favorite breakfast place in Jackson. The portions are huge (beware if you order an omelette, they are massive). I've never had a bad meal here. You'll be pleasantly surprised when you get the bill too, more than a good value. A couple of items to try: the McJim is the Roxy's take on the Egg McMuffin, but 10 times as good. The cinnamon roll is a treat, and the cinnamon raisin bread is outstanding. I can also highly recommend both the roast beef and hippie hash. One small item for coffee snobs: the coffee is diner grade, so if you're expecting Starbucks, you might be disappointed. Enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Truly a great diner experience. read more

This place is one of the best breakfast joints in town. Their sausage gravy is excellent and that's saying something because most restaurants have no clue what a good sausage gravy is, white sauce with chopped up sausage links from yesterday is NOT sausage gravy. I am in town visiting family and my sister said....man we gotta go to Roxy Cafe for brunch! We must have hit it just right because we were able to walk in and sit right down. By the time we left, people were waiting on our table. That's always a good sign. There were 4 of us and for some reason it took a really, really long time to get our food. Had I been starving we probably would have left. BUT...when we finally did get it, it was well worth the wait. HUGE cinnamon roll. Hot and cooked to perfection. I got Hippy Hash and scrambled eggs that was sooooo good. Good grief. I would be huge if I lived here. Hubby got biscuits and gravy and he doesn't often comment on his meal but he said it was really, really good! I can see why it's a Jackson favorite. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because it did take too long to get our food. For sure will be back on our next trip thru. Go...get the cinnamon roll! Just moved to Jackson and you just can't beat the Roxy! I had the Bacon Waffle.....yes,...they put BACON in the waffle! Coffee is always fresh, staff is always friendly and you are bound to make a new friend while there. How can you not love a place with a "Gary Busey" item on the menu? read more

The portions are definitely generous, seeing how I can never finish anything I order from there! The decor is timeless and has a very laid back yet old school feel as well. A huge variety of food, an ever changing specials menu, fantastic staff (both front of the house and back of the house), and enough coffee pots going around the room to make sure your mug is never empty. We found this place on our way from Lansing to Ann Arbor and opted to stop here instead of a chain right off the highway. Never been here for lunch, but I am an avid fan of the Roxy for breakfast. Their omelets are great and the biscuits and gravy is absolutely superb! The only con to this Breakfast-and-Lunch establishment are the early closing times and the fact that it's a compete footrace to actually get in and get a table during the breakfast rush. Also because of the size, it can't really accommodate more than 6 people waiting for a table before it's packed against the door. All in all an amazing place to go for a nice hearty delicious breakfast meal, but probably not the best place if you're looking for somewhere to have a morning coffee and read the newspaper in semi-peace. read more

This would be my go to place for breakfast if I didn't live two hours away. There was about a dozen different menu items I wanted to try which means I'll be making a dozen more "business trips" this way to do so. Best steak and eggs I have had in a long time. Sadly, I ran out of potatoes on my plate which never happens. Perfectly prepared. While the staff knew I wasn't a local they treated me as such. Okay, i really love this little historic dive in Jackson. I did get food poisoning here once from a veggie omlette. This is my fav place to eat breakfast in jackson. The menu allows funny things like ordering a michael jackson (omlette with fruit loops inside). Ceiling tiles are all advertisements. This is the hot breakfast spot in Jackson. We love to take friends/family here when they visit. The food is good, the coffee is good, the service is good... it's all around a great little hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint. For how packed the place was I expected a really great meal, but was disappointed. My order was wrong and the toast was very burnt. My sister ordered the biscuits and gravy and said the biscuit wasn't very good. The staff doesn't have time for pleasantries because the place gets so crowded.
