Love the food and the staff, great value for the money. My only problem is space is super super limited and can take forever to get seated.

This place is a prime example of Americana. When we arrived we got to travel into the kitchen to get to the dining room. The kitchen staff was super friendly and greeted us as we entered the restaurant. Our family friends took us here as they said the pancakes were bigger than your face and you will definitely need a to go box. All true. I am a corn beef hash expert and try it at every single diner I go to. This place has home made hash and it was comprised of a ton of corn beef hunks and potatoes. Seasoned perfectly and the qty was huge, I didn't end up finishing it which was super disappointing. Adrienne got the peanut butter French toast which was also huge and left unfinished. The sausage gravy was awesome as well and super close to what I would make at home. This is going to be our new breakfast restaurant when we come to visit!! read more

This place is awesome. Located near a busy intersection in Jackson the inside reminds me of a NYC tiny diner. Tables are small and tight. There's a breakfast bar with red cushioned stools. The ceiling is decorated in advertisements from local businesses. The walls are covered in 50s style diner photographs, The only negative thing one may say about this place is having trouble finding a seat. It was packed! I managed to find a seat in the front near the window. The menu is huge. They offer breakfast and lunch. Check the board behind the bar for specials. I didn't see it before I ordered and they had some awesome looking specials. The wait staff is super attentive. I had one main waitress but felt like I had 3. One kept coffee coming another brought my food and was so sweet asking me if my eggs were over cooked and suggesting to take them back to cook new ones (I said no thanks and they were fine). I ordered the hippy hash browns with two eggs and toast. Everything was very well cooked. High quality food cooked to perfection. I saw a table next to me get a cinnamon roll. OMG I'm coming back here to get one someday. It looked amazing and fresh out of the oven. Definitely give this place a try. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and service. read more

Yes solid breakfast, food is good and clean. We tried two orders of chicken fried steak that came with potatoes, eggs, and toast. I had the slam breakfast which comes with two eggs, potatoes, toast, and choice of meat. I selected ham. We also ordered a side of hotcakes which were really good, really thick and big pancakes. I think you could probably share an order with four people. I also ordered the marble rye, just a note to omit butter if you prefer it dry as it does come buttered. This is a town freaking staple in my opinion. An absolute MUST go, when I visit Jackson. I love that you can walk through the kitchen to get to the front. All the kitchen staff says hello and goodbye, the waitresses are on point. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but you MUST try the sausage gravy, omg!! I always seem to fall into the Hippie Omelet the eggs are so yummy, with the veggies and feta cheese, so happy. But it even with the healthiness of the that, I ALWAYs get a Half order of the biscuits and gravy. That gravy is so delicious, but definitely can only have it one time while I'm in Jackson. Pricing is awesome, can't go wrong with that. Great food, fast service, great price, even better location. It's a small place, so expect a bit of a wait early in the morning with Covid and social distancing. They are doing that at the tables and all had a mask on. read more

So after picking up donuts at Hinkley Bakery one morning, we decided to eat breakfast at the Roxy Cafe. I was dying for a cup of coffee or twelve, and as the bakery is not set up for in house eating and drinking (coffee), and as we don't eat in our cars (because they're cars, not kitchens), we choose to eat where coffee could be found. This was some place new but not so new to us: Back in the day when we would go to the old Jackson All Star Dairy (not its current abomination) we'd pass by the Roxy Cafe plenty of times, but we never stopped. We remedied that problem this morning. Preceded by several regulars (you can always tell who the regulars for a restaurant are), we walked in the back entrance and was greeted by sights of the kitchen and the cook. We made a right and then left turn to walk into the dining area. It was visually bright and visually busy. We are used to seeing advertising on coffee cups and on the paper place mats in a diner, but on the ceiling?? I ordered Corned Beef Hash, two eggs sunny side up, and wheat toast. My girl ordered two blueberry pancakes and bacon. The coffee was hot and brown but not unusual for typical diner coffee. The corned beef hash was described as homemade and I believe it was. The eggs were done as ordered. The toast was made from a typical anonymous store bought wheat bread. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy and filled with yummy blueberries. My girl thought the pancakes had been left on a grill a few seconds past perfect. The syrup was the type of commercial syrup that one will see in a diner (i.e., not genuine maple syrup). The bacon was thick cut but was not crisp; it had the texture of chewy leather. Service was attentive and the turnaround from our order taken to the plates put in front of us was quick. What incredible food and service! We arrived on a very beautiful and busy Sunday. Our party of two joined another part of 2 at a 6 top. We started with the cinnamon roll. It was incredible. I'm somewhat of an expert on such things as a fat kid. Not only was it quite large, it was exceptionally delicious. Moving on, we had corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy. There was bar seating, dinning and out door seating. The wait staff where great about getting a table cleaned up for us ASAP (it was a packed house this morning). All of the waitresses were sure everyone had what they needed. We had multiple different waitresses ask us if someone put in drink orders or food orders to make sure we weren't missed in the crowd.
