Sorry to see all the low ratings for this location. I had a really good experience the other day. Went in at an off-time, probably 4:30ish in the afternoon. Service was friendly and patient (my mom took a while to decide and ask a lot of questions about customizing a chicken combo, which they happily did for her- thank you!). My mom was able to use her senior discount and earn her reward points with her phone number which was also nice to have go so smoothly for her. The restaurant was clean and the fixins bar was well stocked. We got our order, dressed our sandwiches, and were on our way. Short of it is, friendly and patient service, good food, and good timing- exactly what you'd want and expect from a good Roy Rogers experience. Will definitely be back! read more

Morning crew is very good at caring for their customers. I witnessed an elderly man drop his food at the fixin's bar and was very distraught and embarrassed. The staff quickly assured him not to worry, "things like this happen ". They took care of the mess and remade his order treating him with dignity. Just one example. Also love the food! read more

Tailgate boxes of 16 piece chicken mixed was inedible & soaked grease through the box & through the paper bag, and onto our table & newspaper. Place was busy so we think the chicken was fried twice to warm it back up after an hour elapsed from the time our delivery app order was placed. We could barely bite the rock hard batter & unappetizing grease! Had to throw it all out. Just as well since we need fried chicken like we need a hole in the head, but Roy Rogers chicken has never been so bad! Haven't had RR in a looong time, but still like the strawberry shortcake. I feel for restaurants struggling for survival during the pandemic & have tried to spread my delivery app orders around to all my local restaurants but I may as well have just donated the $29 for the chicken since I had to throw it away. read more

Not sure what happened to Roy Rogers. As I recall they used to have good chicken, at least at the Waldorf location anyway. Bought a 12 piece here and some mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes tasted synthetic and the gravy is bland. I was hoping for Popeyes gravy/mash quality since Roy's always used to be good but I was sadly mistaken. Admittedly, I haven't been to a location in probably three years. The biscuits remind you of Popeyes though. Almost identical. So much for calling the order in as well because they didn't drop the chicken until I got there. This left me with about a 25-minute wait when they actually said it would be like 5 or 6 minutes while I stood at the counter. On the phone they said it would be ready in 15 minutes....so I timed my trip to coincide with just going in and paying and leaving. Wrong! The chicken is juicy (especially the breast) but the crispiness of the batter/breading is almost like biting into a Cadbury Easter Egg - only much heavier. The breading is MUCH heavier than I recall. Think cramming a mouth full of potato chips into your mouth, then taking a bite of chicken. Batter is overwhelming, making some parts unnecessarily dry for freshly prepared chicken (looking at you drumsticks). The restaurant is clean and with a nice condiments bar with beautifully sliced tomatoes, jalapenos, pepperoncini and various sauces of all kinds. Ample outside parking. Clean bathrooms. I think I'll just stick to the sandwiches the next time I happen inside a Roy's. Maybe it's partly just this location. We'll see. read more

I had to write this review because I was simply stunned by the impressive customer service I received from Aaron. I ordered my meal through Uber eats and when it arrived without the fries I was disappointed to say the least. However when I called the restaurant Aaron was somehow able to get Uber eats to come back get the fries and deliver them to me! In my experience this is extraordinary. Uber eats generally doesn't want to re-deliver. See Aaron even followed up with a phone call to let me know the fries are on their way. Aaron was incredibly kind and professional every way something you don't frequently find at casual or fast food restaurants these days. Thank you Aaron! We've been paying extra for "deluxe" burgers all this time, and really all we needed was RR to return. After I paid and I was waiting for my food, the woman behind me ordered a box of chicken. She received her box of chicken and went to her table...then she came back up and pointed out that she didn't want, I believe a leg in the box, but she wanted a wing. The girl behind the counter took the leg out of the box, and PUT IT BACK IN WITH THE REST OF THE CHICKEN after the woman had taken it to the table and had her hands in the box. she got the piece replaced with a wing. Another girl came up with a sandwich she had, I believe she wanted toasted (?). They took the sandwich back behind the grill, threw the bread away, but laid the paper the girl hand touched back at her table, down back at the grill as they toasted her new bread to fix her sandwich. Not a very sanitary place. I wish I hadn't already ordered and paid for my food. Had I seen this prior to paying, I would have left. Do better. read more

I was sad to see this restaurant get such poor reviews because that was not my rating at all. Let me tell you about the experience I had today. I was waited on by Kevin and he was polite, professional, attentive and quick in getting my order. I had carryout fried chicken and fries. The chicken was delicious and fries could have used a tad bit more salt but I could add my own at home. Jennifer was also working and she was cheerful, asked what else she could add to the order and it was clear the team was focused. The restaurant was spotless and it was nice to see both of them enthusiastic about their work. The manager, Baboucarr was working in the back and under his leadership it appeared at least while I was there, things were very smooth. I have been going to Roy Roger's since the late 80's and I hope people continue to give this one a shot. But this team today deserves recognition because in times like we have had in the pandemic attitude and work ethic is everything. Thank you. I will be back. read more

I came to this location when they first opened a couple of times w family & then coworkers on a lunch break. There was hardly any customers on a Sunday around 4:30-5 and that should've been my first clue...The customer service is a mess as is the food. The young guy at the register was polite and took my daughter's order & mine with no issue. As we were waiting for food (two kids burger meals, we wash our hands in the bathroom and then the lady (older Hispanic lady)calls my name and forgets one whole meal! Lol I inform her. Strike 1-So then she tells me to wait to get the toy and apple slices & she tosses the toy towards the tray and misses but never turned her head to see that it hit the counter! Strike 2-We sit down to eat. The burger bun had finger prints dug into it and grease on top. Strike 3 -at this point. Fries were hot burger obviously was dry & not fresh and Luke warm. The bun fell apart while trying to eat. I was making the best of it when the manager (older man w glasses) starts talking over the back kitchen counter to a young (loud) female worker about what time to show up for her next shift. Mind you this is over where the food is. Girl proceeds to tell him why is he asking her to come in early, it's going to cause her to be late, she has a phone conference blah blah blah... then says she isn't worried about being late Bc at least she shows up!! I mean Strike 100- how do I know all this info?! Take it in the back!! They proceeded to go back & forth for about 6 mins. Roy Rogers isn't just for lunch anymore. Or dinner. Or dessert. I have heard about their breakfast before but haven't had a chance to get there in the morning until recently. Fortunately, my newborn was still sleeping and my toddler was sick, so I told my wife I was going to work and snuck away for a few hours. The atmosphere was just lovely as always, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The nice woman working the counter suggested I try the sourdough breakfast sandwich, which should be called the awesome dough breakfast sandwich. The hash brows were a nice treat on the side and helped me justify that I wasn't really eating french fries at 8am. The restaurant was full, but the service was on point as always. I came in not knowing what to expect, but I left another satisfied customer. I hope to return next weekend to try the $1.99 All You Can Eat Pancakes or Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, which is only available on Saturday and Sunday. read more

My first time there it was 15 minutes before they closed. I just gotten the app but they wouldn't honor my $5 discount. I spoke to the "manager" but they all were like the app coupon takes several hours to process which was a lie. Also, I know the policy is officially wait for the dine in customer to finish but if I was taking too long you shouldn't give me an attitude while you say nothing to the table of 2 White seniors across from me. I was so excited when this location was opening, due to not having one around my area. Closest one was in Gaithersburg. So excited, only to be let down...... Food was good but unfortunately, the staff had no clue on what they were doing. I was there during their grand opening. Every time I come here i receive great customer service ! the cashiers would be friendly and helpful , and always asked or would ask if we need anything , polite and wished us a good day. My fave are the cheeseburgers. Now as for the food standard roy rogers fast food it's much better than mcdonald's ! The fried chicken is good and the biscuits are fluffy . Comparing to other fried chicken it's not soggy at all and nice and crispy. It's not a five star restaurant but you get what you expect from a fast food chain, which I think is better than burger king and mcdonald's. Food is reminiscent of the old Roy Rogers but the staff leaves ALOT to be desired. The cashier may as well be a mime, what a rude little lady, watch out for her "DIAMOND" personality. No welcome, thank you or even proper directions. I asked her for some Caesar salad dressing and she dismissively pointed at what seem to be the kitchen area, to what I replied: the kitchen?! She then utter the words "down there" and pointed to the end of the counter. I didn't even know if she was done with me until she called the next person in line. Needless to say I felt like the staff was here as an option, not an accessory. You get better service at a gas station. If I had 1 dollar invested in this place I would SERIOUSLY micromanage the socks outta the staff until they learn how to tend to the customers properly. Not coming back to avoid serving this DIAMOND lady a double quarter pounder of rudeness. BTW the place was not busy at all, so we can not attribute her rude butt to being busy. With two hungry tweens in the car we decided the easiest way to deal with dinner was to pick up carry-out from Roy Rogers. I'm not a fast food fan (I think Chick-fil-a is one of the worst) but Roy Rogers can usually be counted on for a decent meal. The restaurant was clean and there was a steady stream of customers, but it wasn't crowded. The tweens wanted chicken strips and to make things easy we just ordered 4 kids meals. The meals come with a choice of sides so they opted for fries, a small drink and apple slices are included. The chicken strips were good and the fries decent for having traveled for 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and efficient so maybe some early problems have been resolved. The tweens were happy and satisfied, I was glad not to have to cook after a day at the pool, the total was less than $20 (did supplement at home with salad) so all in all it was a success. read more

I was soooo excited when I found out a location was opening close by. I ordered a family meal which came out quickly, along with a strawberry shortcake and brownie. I got the chicken, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes. The chicken was nice and crispy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and gravy. The coleslaw though, #SideEye, it had not flavor. I don't know who made that batch but they must have missed a few ingredients. I probably will not be ordering the coleslaw again. My fiance said you can tell the chicken was from a new location, maybe they haven't perfected the recipe yet. The chicken was still delicious! Literally every time we've gone and got carry out, the order has been incomplete. My roomate literally just came home from there and missing two orders of mashed potatoes. Shouldn't have to go back THE NEXT DAY to get reimbursed. The only time I've had the order correct was when I stood directly at the counter. Trying to flag someone down, I went entirely ignored until the manager yelled at his staff to acknowledge my existence. The staff was nice, the food prices are comparable to McDonalds minus the Dollar Menu, and the food was served hot. The restaurant is clean and well stocked. I think the burgers are better than McDonalds though. I like the fact you can add jalapeños, lettuce, tomatoes, and other condiments to your liking. I ordered a kids cheeseburger meal with fries and a small side salad. The BOOM BOOM sauce was spicy and tangy! I enjoyed dipping my fries in it. The salad was worth the $2.19 I paid for it. It has shredded carrots, cucumber, grape tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and your choice of dressing. It was WAY better than any other fast food side salad I've ordered. Went in to order food on 92620 at 1208, cashier was great but person who gave us the food was very rude. I asked for fixing cups and she tossed them in the bag with the fries, when I asked for another bag for the fixing cups you could tell she felt it was an inconvenience. I then asked for barbecue sauce and mayo and I was made to feel like I was an imposition. This restaurant just opened on Monday, so my husband and I decided to go on Saturday and try it out. When we got to the cashier, she was very friendly and seem to have a good disposition, however it was clear she was not well trained on what the food was or what the food had in it. Beings this was my first time at a Roy Rogers I was curious as to the kind of food, but unfortunately she did not know. However, while asking her multiple questions and her telling me she did not know, her manager who was standing right behind her offered no assistance. He let her struggle until I finally looked at him and then answered me briefly. How do you call yourself a manager but not help your employees in a time of need? The food was pretty decent everything was what we had ordered, however they gave us no silverware to eat it with. I went to a lady who was filling the bar of Asian dissent, and asked her if I can get some silverware. She asked the lady Who is also on the floor where I can get silverware at. This lady's name was Shanequa I believe from her badge. She proceeded to tell the Asian lady that I get silverware with my food. I explained that I never received any with my food, and then she said that it comes from behind the counter. The Asian lady who I've been speaking to, did what I consider the right thing and said she would go get me some. However, the other lady stopped her and told her "no, you let the customer get their own silverware, and you, you fill the bar that's what you do"! I was appalled at how she spoke to another staff member and treated her, and also that she had stopped a staff member from providing good customer service. But the worst of it came a few minutes later while we were eating our food, she did the same exact thing to a man on crutches and made him go get his own silverware instead of helping him and getting it for him. Clearly she has not been trained correctly and customer service and she needs to be taken aside and worked with properly. I feel like the training for the store was rushed and as somebody who has been in customer service and retail my whole life I can tell you that this place will not survive unless better management & training happens. read more

As other reviewers have noted below, there is no sense of urgency at this store. When I arrived around 5:30 pm the line was to the door. To my surprise, management pulls one of the cashiers aside and proceeds to yell at her in front of everyone. I didn't catch what exactly happened but he should have pulled her aside and spoken with her privately instead of belittling her in front of all the customers and demonstrating that urgency is not a priority. After I get my order, I proceed to the salad bar were I find hardly any salad and/or condiments. I kindly ask the employee who is mopping (and just finished washing the bathroom) to get someone to refill the condiments. I wait around for 10 minutes, nothing happens. Finally another customer waiting around for condiments as well gets mad and tells the manager to stock the salad bar. The manager proceeds to turn around and tells the employee, who was mopping, to fill the bar. The employee comes out and stocks the salad bar and re-fills the condiments wearing the SAME gloves he wore to wash the bathrooms and mop. Needless to say, I threw away my order and never plan to go back UNTIL there is management change at a minimum. I've been to many Roy Rogers in the area and must say I rather travel an hour away to a Roy Rogers I trust than one that's 5 mins away from me. read more
