WOW. What a drastic change for the worse. When this location was Mayuri, it was our top pick, along with Clay Pit in Town Center. It switched to Dine India, which we didn't care for. Now, supposedly under the same ownership, it's Royal Biryani House, and has been our #1 for over a year and a half. I don't know why the sudden downturn in quality, but the last three times we have ordered from them, despite ordering the same entrées we always do, we receive something COMPLETELY different. There is absolutely no consistency anymore. For example, the Andhra Chicken at first had chunks of chicken in a smooth and spicy gravy. The last time we got it, it was think, chunky, and with tons of peppers and onions, and didn't at all resemble what we had received the first time. We ordered it again tonight, and it's something different yet again. It has bell peppers and jalapeño, but is watery and with no onion. We have two small children, and as such, we order their food "mild". Today, we ordered everything (except the Andhra which is inherently spicy) mild so that we could share it all with the whole family. The receipt said "mild", and the woman taking my order repeated it back to me as "mild". What we received was BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF HOT, in no way suitable for most adults, let alone, a small child. I'm the kind of person that can eat ghost peppers and not wince. All of our entrees were SO hot, that I am just thankful that my husband tried it before my seven-year-old daughter did, because otherwise she would be crying right now. Additionally, all four entrées are thin and runny, passing right through the rice. We asked for Tamarind and Mint Chutneys, which she acknowledged, but we did not receive them. The naan is easily half of what they used to be. We understand COVID and the affects it's had on businesses, which is part of why we only go to locally owned, family owned business now. This, however, is simply unacceptable. As I type this, my husband is getting take-out from Clay Pit for my daughter who didn't get to eat any of what we got from RBH. My son gave up and ate a corn dog. Sadly, I guess three bad tries is enough. We will no longer patronize this establishment. For the tune of $100, we should at least get something's that resembles what we asked for. Two stars because portions were decent and the flavors was ok. read more

This is the only place in the area that has good biryani!! We have had the mutton dum biryani and this is the closest to how we make it at home!! Be careful with spice levels though, coz we asked for spicy and it turned out extremely spicy for our taste the first time we had it. Medium spicy is just right for us. We placed a takeaway order for Veg 65 Biryani. The biryani was stale, with the rice at the bottom smelling weird, and even the sherva was stale. We won't be going back to them again. On top of the bad food, they also charged an extra fee for takeaway. read more

Definitely give Royal Biryani a try. We ordered take out for the whole family and we definitely will again. We didn't get to specify how spicy we wanted the food, but the chef got it right on point. The preschooler and 7 year old had butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. They said it was "not too spicy" and they enjoyed it. The food was overall a little heavy on the fat, but I also really enjoyed how generous the vegetables and herbs were. The portions were a bit small and didn't have much chicken compared to the amount of sauce. The quality of the meat was very good, though. Haven't dined in here yet. Picked up the food a few times recently. This review is for the pickup experience. So many appetizers, Biriyanis, Curries, Tandoori, Indo-Chinese options. Mainly ordered Biriyanis, along with appetizers and curries. Veg 65, Gongura Chicken, Chicken Dum - a few biriyanis I tried. They are flavorful and spicy. Customizable up-to some extend, but watch out if you are not a spice loving person. Chicken 999, Chilly baby corn, Paneer tikka masala, Kadai Chicken and Apollo Fish fry are few curry options I have ordered so far. Again, delicious but watch out the spice levels. Special mention to the Apollo fish fry - mouthwatering! Always ordered from their iOS app. Super convenient. Only problem is the apple pay doesn't work. Bummer, but manageable with a credit card. It's been a great experience so far. Won't say the food is very authentic but more than decent enough to bring out those South Indian flavor to the food. The portion of the food is very good. So far I haven't repeated any of the items. Will keep on trying their other items. Plenty of options left. read more

We ordered the butter chicken, mutton pepper fry, paneer butter masala, veg 65 biryani, garlic naan, chai and mango lassi. Each spice level was a 2 (medium). The butter chicken was probably one of the better ones I've had. It had a great balance of creamy and tomato. It was so satisfying. The mutton pepper fry was delicious! Every bite packed a punch of flavor. Cilantro, ginger, and sorrel flavors come to mind. The paneer butter masala was BOMB! I would consider going vegetarian if all food tasted this amazing. I could've done without the veg 65 biryani. It has fried batteries veg in between a bed of rice. For the beautiful flavors, I anticipated more flavor. The garlic naan had a great fresh garlic taste and was crispy and hot out of the tandoori. Chai and lassi tasted like they were made from scratch. Hate the instant stuff! The huge negatives to this place was of the 2 female bathroom stalls, 1 is out of order. No problem, but the smell was horrible! There is a bad plumbing issue that they need to fix! The other negative was I have a specific nut allergy and they did not tell me it was in a sauce after I asked them to let me know.. We just had dinner at the Royal Biryani House, and I must say... Delicious! I can't speak to authenticity as I haven't been to India in more than thirty years, but if you are a fan of rich, complex, full-flavored spicing you will love this place. We started with the tomato soup (absolutely worth it) and the Hyderabad chicken 65, which came in a surprisingly generous portion. Both were solidly spicy without being too hot. We followed this with tandoori chicken and lamb biryani, both of which were flavorful, spicy and very satisfying. This restaurant seems to do a brisk takeout service. We use to be regulars but will no longer return. I placed an order online at 4:30 for a 5:30 pick up. They continued to say "wait 5-10 minutes" every time I checked in, but I never got my food until 6:15pm. Instead of an honest apology, they claimed the chicken 999 takes a long time to make, but that doesn't explain why I ordered online and still needed to wait 45 minutes. Not family friendly to a single parent with an infant and a hungry impatient toddler. They offered me a lassi and 10% off my next order. Love Indian food. Love biryanis. So wanted to try this new joint. First off, nice interior, no parking hassles, good service. I ordered the Veg 65 biryani and the Bhezvada Chicken 65 biryani. Orders came out pretty quickly which is not something I normally expect to see. In deconstructing the biryani, here is my observation: the veg and the meat were cooked to perfection, the masala was about right for the spice level and the rice was good quality. However, it did seem like the biryani was prepared in batches meaning the rice and the veggies/meat were cooked separately and then mixed together. While this works too, however the flavor profile of biryani is built through layering the meat/veggies and rice like a true lasagna. Disappointed but not totally. Price is comparable and apt for the location. Might try the buffet the next time around to get a more wholesome experience. read more

I attended a buffet party hosted by my friend at this restaurant! The items were Baby corn manchuria, cut mirchi, Bheemavaram chicken pakodi, chicken tadoori, Paneer tikka masala, Andhra chicken curry, Naan, Chicken dum biryani, Gulab Jamun for dessert !! Cut mirchi was crispy & good, Corn Manchuria could have been a little bit more crispier, but its very flavorful and melts right in so never mind about being crispy ( this was chef's special by-the-way and may not be on menu ) ! Curries were with good enough flavors and spice levels, went very well with the naan - fresh out of tandoori oven ! Chicken Dum Biryani was my favorite of all, could feel the flavors with just about right consistency, and not just with rice but with meat as well !! Gulab jamun was soft and fresh...., a hint of elaichi ( cardamom) stuffed in it was a nice touch !! Over all it was a good experience with the party hosted. I love their biryanis. One of my favorite place to have biryani. I have tried most of their biryanis. The goat dum biryani was my favorite. Yesterday, I tried gutti Venkaya biryani. Honestly, I was not expecting much from this biryani since it's an eggplant biryani. I was wrong. The biryani masala was exceptional. The eggplant did not have much taste and also did not added much flavors to the biryani but the actual masala was awesome. I loved it. I am giving it 4 stars because the place is pretty inconsistent in the taste. Sometimes. The biryani is exceptional and sometimes it bland (lack of masala/gravy). Once we sat down, we ordered in a few minutes- chilli chicken, garlic naans and butter naans, one chicken curry and a shrimp creamy curry. It all came with a big bowl of rice. And they served a little kid cup with a lid and straw for my little one. And plates for all. The appetizer - chili chicken was spicy, at the end of eating it, I felt the spice in my tongue. Naans were yum and so was the chicken curry. Shrimp curry was a bit mild spicy and very creamy. We loved the food and experience there for dinner. Bill was to be paid at the front/ billing counter. Rip off. Royal Biryani is one place we had thoroughly enjoyed prior to Covid and were excited to do takeout from. The food was delicious, we enjoyed the flavors. Quality is every bit what we remembered from eating there. We are a large family if 8 so used to having to order more food than the average family, and plan accordingly. We also ordered similarly to what we have ordered in restaurant before, but for takeout. To our surprise and supreme disappointment, the quantity of food for their entrees, especially meat dishes is pathetic. We ordered two classics - butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Each of the two chicken dishes we ordered had maybe 5 1" bites of chicken. Maybe. Then it was a full container of sauce. By the time we divided the food amongst our family, each person got at most 1 bite of chicken from each dish if that, and that was with my husband and I forgoing chicken for ourselves. I am not paying $14 per entree in order to only receive hardly any meat! Even the palak paneer was mostly spinach with a couple pieces of cheese. Our family basically had sauce on rice with naan for $100 of a food order by the time all was said and done. I mean really? You have the easier job of not serving people in restaurant but you are still getting the same amount for the dish but you don't even give enough meat to make it one person's serving let alone a family style entree. I eat very spicy food and this is the only place I found authentic flavoured spicy egg biryani. My husband likes the Bezawada chicken biryani and calls it a close second to Hyderabadi dum biryani. I have not dined in here but would like to. The service is decent for pick-up. I judge a South Indian place by their masala dosa and medu vada. The vada was huge( more batter and less crisp) did not find it that enticing. The dosa was average, could have been more flavorful. I like samosas and snacks too. The food is good, when they get it right. More often they don't and consistency is non existent here. U can get the same thing and receive completely different food. This place is always backed up and makes customers wait. However if anyone complains the management is super rude to the customer. When I went there last time a customer was upset because he had been waiting 30+ mins to the committed time and when they got their food, the owner said " Take your food and get the hell out". I can't condone that kind of service to anyone and recommend everyone gives this place a skip. read more
