    Chicken Katsu Gluten Free

*CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW when you first walk in, you wouldn't think this place had safe GF options - but I was thoroughly impressed! They have an extensive GF menu with a seperate wok and other precautions in the kitchen for celiac. we got the chicken katsu and the Mongolian beef, the katsu was AMAZING, and the beef was just okay. It was a great meal, everything comes out marked GF, and I did not get sick!

Such a great spot with lots of different gluten free options! The owner was very knowledgeable and the food came out clearly marked and in a separate bag even then the gluten free ordered. Very friendly staff and cozy inside if you want to dine in. Highly recommend.

I'm gluten free and finding gluten free Asian food is very hard especially a gf katsu chicken! This was so unexpected and so delicious. Can't wait to try more!

    Meal for 2: chicken teriyaki + Mongolian beef + eggrolls+potstickers+ salad+rice
    Huong L.

We decided to check more places near our home and this popped up on Yelp! We called the order over the phone and it was ready within 15 minutes, which was very fast. We got the meal for 2: Chicken teriyaki - a little dry, but flavorful Mongolian beef - super tender and so flavorful, definitely a favorite. 2 eggrolls: maybe I haven't eaten an eggroll in Soo long but these were so good. It was filled with veggies and meat 4 potstickers: crispy, a little bland but went well with the sauces 2 side salad - just lettuce, nothing else A full box of rice - the rice was really good at absorbing all the sauces and it was soft. We got all of this for for our meal and was super stuffed. I think this is a great deal, it's not the best food but it's good enough that I will keep coming back. They also gjve you a punch card that if you purchase 10 meals, you get $8 off on the next order :)

JangAn puts diners in the driver's seat, meaning that seasoning your soup is up to you. This might sound intimidating, but every table has a guide printed out, and the servers proactively offered advice as they brought out my roiling bowl. This method of personalization complements the beauty of seolleongtang, which seems to deepen as you eat it. Warmth, seasoning, and time gradually coaxes more richness from the bowl, so take your time and enjoy the process. One special shout out for the banchan. You'll get both Kimchi and Kkakdugi (raddish) with your meal, and both can be refilled freely. I think you'll want to, because it was among the best I've ever had. They sell it to-go as well, and you can bet I took advantage. Overall 5/5

We went for gan jjajang and brisket jjampong, which are not the standard ones that come in the combo meal with tang su yuk, but our server kindly made it into a combo meal. I think these special versions are definitely better than the standard ones which we've tried before here. So much more flavor! The price is quite reasonable and the service was friendly and fast. When we had left just a few minutes shy of 12pm, the restaurant was full and there were a few parties waiting outside. The staff were very attentive and would immediately replenish our radish if we were low. The jjamppong and jjajangmyeon tasted fine, if anything the jjajangmyeon was a little sweet. The fried rice however (without the jjajang sauce) was pretty bland and a bit dry. I don't know if it's intentional because they give the sauce on the side but I'd like to have the rice taste good without the assistance of the sauce. Other than the bland and dry rice, my only other nitpick would be that the jjajangmyeon came out a lot later than the other dishes. Otherwise we paid around $117 (without tip), for five dishes and two appetizers, which I think is pretty good for this area.

The first time I came to Modoo Hansang, I found a long hair in my soup, then a long hair in my rice. I left quickly without finishing much of anything, but the situation was taken care of by the manager. I understand this could just be a bad day, a fluke of sorts... so about 7 months later, I came back to give it another shot. They have a decently extensive menu, and they have a lunch set that is half-sized portions. I got the soondooboo and the galbi lunch set, and it was a good amount of food for one. The side dishes aren't really your traditional side dishes, and they're presented very beautifully. It makes you feel like you're fine dining. The flavor seemed a bit more fusion than traditional. They also give apps like california rolls, salad, and soup. (My gripe is that they should have used a miso dressing instead of an Italian dressing that tastes like it came from a bottle for the salad.) Overall, you order your entree, and you get what feels like a 5 course meal. Went at 1:00 PM on a Saturday, but it wasn't busy at all. Got seated immediately, and there were 2-3 other parties dining as well. Modoo Hansang gets the job done if you're craving a hearty Korean meal~

I can imagine a line out the door during peak hours. I ordered the mushroom soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) + pork bulgogi combo (medium spicy), and my wife ordered the Galbitang. The food arrived 10-15 minutes after ordering, despite three more tables arriving and placing orders around the same time - I noticed they got their food within the same window. This place is efficient. The sundubu-jjigae arrived in a stone pot, broth running surprisingly clear and light for how substantial it tasted. The pork bulgogi came out still sizzling on a cast iron skillet over a wooden board - the kind of presentation that makes the table next to you immediately regret their order. Portion-wise, the pork felt slightly light for a $28 combo relative to everything else on the table. The banchan deserves its own mention: eight-ish dishes - kimchi, bean sprouts, gyeran mari (beautifully golden rolled egg), seasoned greens, braised tofu, pickled daikon, and a couple more I'm still trying to identify. None of it felt like filler - the kind of sides you keep reaching for absentmindedly mid-conversation until they're gone. The rice was a multigrain mix (purple-black grains) rather than plain white, a small detail that signals care for the fundamentals. My wife's galbitang arrived looking like a commitment - massive short rib bones in a rich, clean broth that meant business before you'd even picked up a spoon. She ended up so full we packed the rice and half the dish to go. When your takeout bag solves dinner that evening, that's a PORTION SIZE WIN. One last detail worth calling out: they proactively offered me an apron since I was eating spicy food in a white polo. Small gesture, real thoughtfulness - and apparently aprons are limited, so I appreciated being asked first.

I tried the croissant french toast, which was delicious although a tad too buttery for my tastes. Very odd, but I did also order scrambled egg whites on the side which were not something I expected to stand out to me! But they were delicious! I also added some breakfast sausages but they were a bit sweet and I probably wouldn't order them again. The vegan coffee cake was alright, but they topped it with cream cheese which I don't like, so I just had to pick out the bread from the bottom.
