Lots of options but more American than Asian.

It's nice to have a buffet back in the area. The place is massive and they really pack folks in. They keep it clean and the service is friendly. The price for an adult is about $20 which is going to bring in people, especially large families. Children under 2 years old eat for free. Children were everywhere. This was a one and done spot for me. The food was fresh and constantly being replenished. It was more of an American food buffet than Asian. They do have a hibachi grill in the back that you can order from. They will do well for what they are and what the area had been missing.

Fresh fruit is always a plus very nice and tasty

I was excited to eat here. The place was not very clean. The bathrooms are disgusting. The food was not hot ! The soup specifically the clam chowder was gross. It didn't even taste as good as the clam chowder from a can. They call it steak, but I call it mystery meat. The only thing that I really enjoyed was the crab Rangoon. The carrot cake. The rest was horrible. Not making recheck half hour drive again. Waste of gas all the bubble teas tasted floral!

My Son wanted to celebrate his Birthday here. I saw this place on instagram and his friend told him about this place. They opened about 2 months ago. They have the usual Buffet fair and several different varieties of Shrimp, my Son loves Sushi so they have a Sushi Bar. You get your own drinks. The Staff was polite, but I think they can use more help in the Dining Room because our empty plates were pilling up and no one cleaned our table, so we sat them on an empty table to make room. A worker was in area but she just overlooked us. Other than that the experience was just ok.

We went here with friends who are frequent flyers and love this place. I can see why. The first thing they said to my friend was "welcome back". She was literally here yesterday with her kids:) Outside of the friendly greetings, this place is extremely clean with plenty of space for seating. The buffet is probably the largest one I have seen in the Baltimore area with lots of seafood offerings. I had to walk around the buffet before making a plate because there was so much to choose from. I started with the seafood boil which had shrimp, mussels, calamari, crawfish, corn and potatoes in it. It was pretty tasty. The string beans were seasoned with garlic and just the right amount crisp. I liked the bok choy, lightly seasoned but still flavorful. The octopus salad is an acquired taste but not bad if you're into this. The various shrimp offerings are delicious. This place is the Forrest Gump of shrimp. Get it streamed, salt & pepper, fried, garlic and many more. The salmon was good and moist. There's nothing worse than dry salmon. The fried chicken was nicely fried, but absolutely no taste and will need hot sauce for some zing. I also got something from the grill. Select your protein and veggies and they will hibachi them up for you. I chose shrimp and steak with mushrooms, broccoli, peppers, and onions. The only problem I had with this was the shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. The shrimp should be cooked last instead of with the steak which takes longer to cook. Next time I'm going to give him the shrimp separately to cook and see if that makes a difference. As far as drinks you have the option of getting your typical drinks from the soda fountain or the refrigerator. The refrigerated drinks include can sodas and boba teas. Can you believe it, boba! I fell in love with the strawberry tea boba. I may try the passion fruit or boba milk tea next time. I have never been to a buffet that has boba. Pretty impressive;) This is a great place to take your family. It's about $20/person and that's pretty reasonable considering how expensive food is nowadays. You also get 10% off of your order first check in. Love it!! As The Terminator would say, "I'll be back!". SN: The bathroom was large and clean:)

A local Chinese buffet is OVERDUE! My goodness, what a welcomed restaurant. Royal Buffet has filled the long-vacant building where Bill Bateman's once occupied. They appear to have repurposed the booth seating so that plus the exposed brick felt nostalgic of my Bateman's Friday happy hour days. This is your standard Chinese buffet. There are rows of options, nothing you haven't seen before, plus the desserts, sushi and hibachi. The truth is - Chinese buffets don't have to be special. You get exactly what you pay for. A full belly for a decent price. We snuck over for lunch but will return with the kids in a couple months once the hype dies down a bit. Welcome to town, Royal Buffet!

I had the pick 2 lunch special, but decided to splurge on the Wayne's roll. It does have green onions, and they seared the fresh tuna on the top, which both actions were not listed in the description. I picked off the onions and was eating the sushi anyways. It takes a lot for me to return an item, because I don't believe in waste. I also used to be a waiter, so I know that it's hard when your tip is affected by the food. What did upset me was that all of the rolls were done with too little, and too wet, of rice. Every single roll opened up. The small Philly rolls I could hold together. The Wayne's roll completely fell apart, losing masago everywhere and making a mess of the soy sauce and the table. When the original cashier did come to check on me, I only had 2 pieces left of the Wayne's. If she had come over sooner, I may have returned it. She did apologize and ask if I wanted them to be redone. I said no, thank you (because you never know once they're upset), and instead asked for 2 dollars off of the total for the 14.95$ roll being less valuable than the 12.95$ lunch special. The other waiter dropped off the check without a word and walked away to wait for my card, without a discount . She ended up being the manager. She never apologized for the less than ideal experience, didn't mention that she knew about it until I asked her, and only said, "You chose to eat it anyways." She refused a 2 dollar discount. 2 dollars... for good customer service. I tipped the other cashier. I hope that she gets the 20% and the manager gets none of it. I'll never go back.

I was saddened to learn they changed owners some years ago, and I was afraid the quality would be affected in a negative way. It was a great relief to learn the quality actually got better, which I didn't think was possible. The fish is consistently incredibly fresh, the textures are clean and delicate, and every roll is balanced in a way that really highlights the natural flavor of the ingredients. I also greatly appreciated that they didn't change the menu much, because I would have been sad about my favorites getting removed. True, the Japanese feeling and atmosphere the geishas brought under the previous administration was more welcoming. However, I would rather have better quality food over atmosphere. That said, the restaurant still has a cozy, warm, and welcoming atmosphere that makes it very comfortable to dine in. I love that it is not a huge location. I prefer smaller restaurants to avoid crowds and eat without disturbing my peace. More personal attention too, as you get to know the owner and chefs and they remember you when you're back. The service and attention is better that way. This place is like that. They are also very accommodating with customizations, whether you want to add or remove ingredients, and they are always willing to adjust orders to your preference. Service is still excellent. It's perfect as it is. The flavors are consistently excellent, with a level of care and precision that you can taste in every bite. I would really like it if they added at least one deluxe roll that has lime or lemon as an ingredient. I've only found one sushi restaurant in MD that uses it as an ingredient. In other states I've visited, they use it and it is totally worth it, as it is a great contrast that elevates the raw fish flavors. It's a bit disappointing sushi in MD is different that way. But this place is amazing. I fully recommend it to sushi lovers.

Ordered a really delicious fruity iced tea to start with. Then opted to get the avocado boat as well as the Bruce Roll, which was tempura shrimp and lump crab meat topped with avocado and eel sauce and was absolutely delicious. The avocado boat, not so much, is it really wasn't what I was expecting it wasn't my cup of tea. The spicy tuna mixed with crab meat was delicious but I expected it to be mixed with the avocado and mixed with the avocado rice. Instead it was inside of an avocado shell and the rice was underneath with some avocado in it. It was definitely filling it just wasn't as I expected it would be and as I expected as it was described in the description on the menu. They say you live and you learn and I did with that. But my sushi was excellent and everything else that everyone else got looked delicious from the stir fry udon noodles to the pad thai to the other sushi rolls that others had gotten. We were all too full for dessert though the desserts looked amazing. Lots of things to try the next time I'm there and it will likely be soon. The food was reasonable for what we got and for the portion size. Highly recommend. Our service was very good our server was right on top of everything we needed kept our water glasses filled and was there any time we had questions. The restaurant was also very nice inside I had a nice decor even though it was mostly full over there it wasn't loud and you could certainly talk to everyone at the table and be heard without having to scream. There was a small outdoor area but we opted to eat inside.

More people need to speak up and leave recent reviews on this place because the presentation when you walk in is terrible like they block themselves in with tables, you can't see them coming your food at all, they block it, the fish tank is dirty like the water have been changed in years those poor fishies, and it's just never clean looking. They don't make up for it with quality food either. The food we ordered 4 wings and shrimp fried rice just to be safe. My bf gets other stuff sometimes but I don't trust them enough. So I give them a chance to get it right every once in a while and they get no better. My last order yesterday was the last for me. So I request my wings FRESH & They can't even get that right. The chicken is consistently recooked (look at real chicken when you get it especially at night double dipped in the fryer and it's yellow) despite us asking for fresh chicken this time. We usually ask for chicken cooked soft but no matter what terminology we use to try to get them to give us fresh chicken, it is cooked the same. It seems that, it kills them to make fresh chicken wings on demand for paying customers. I just can't understand it. I want exactly what I Ask for what I pay for!!!! Why is that so hard for you to understand? Do yall make the chicken at opening of the store and won't make anymore throughout the day or something? What's really going on? Either way idc I ask for fresh give me fresh food!. If they can't take pride in their chicken and rice as a place of business called Rice Kitchen, I'm afraid to try anything else. A big reason is because the appearance is not good. It's so dirty when you walk in. It seriously makes me consider if the Health inspectors are really doing their jobs. I'm seriously considering calling them they need a pop up. I hate that their isn't too many good places to choose from around here in this area but even if you are desperate this place isn't it. If you've eaten here let them know how it truly we'v went for other potential customer, leave your review maybe they will change when they realize they have to give us quality clean food or they can't have our money. Your customers deserve fresh chicken fresh food At our request and without our request. Tell me, how could you be so careless with the people food? we trust you with food we have to ingest into our bodies and pay you our good money. These places act like your asking for free food when you request your food be made fresh. The energy be like they hate you for asking SMH. I hope yall read this at Rice Kitchen I haven't seen you resolve respond to any Google reviews because your lack of concern for what your customers request, the cleanliness of the areas we can see. I can only imagine how filthy the back is where you make our food, and your lack of integrity running your business, you do not deserve our hard earned money and everyone who hears this don't spend your money here. We might n need to make an example out of them. They need to understand it's a million other places that we can choose from. How do you stand out???? If you don't have quality, clean food we don't want it! This isn't too much to ask!
