What a great company! I don't think I have had the double chimneys cleaned for about 20 years. I looked on Yelp and these guys got great reviews and they were able to come within a few days, during the busy November season. They protected the rain gutters while putting up the the ladder. Armand and Andre were courteous and explained a few fire-safe tips and showed me how to open the damper. They were upfront and reasonable with the pricing for our 1938 house's needs. We had Armand from Royal chimney sweep come out a week ago and"clean " our fireplace. This was the second time that we've used Royal. First of all his prices have more than doubled since the Eaton fires. I don't believe that scare tactics are good PR moves! Armand came in after."cleaning" the fireplace which took less than an hour. He showed us photographs from the base of the fireplace walls where it was shiny. To make a long story short he told us that if he did not return on Monday 72 hours later that we were sure to have a chimney fire if we used it, He had to return to do a complete creosote treatment and replace the chimney cap and top which would cost a few thousands of dollars. We had one of his competitors come one week since he"cleaned" it. They showed us a bucket full of ash that had come down when they cleaned it. Royal's competitor, said: "Clearly this fireplace has not been cleaned!" I would NEVER RECOMMEND ROYAL CHIMNEY SWEEPS! read more

The windstorm last week blew off our chimney cap and honestly, if it didn't land in the driveway, I might've never noticed it missing. Called around to replace the cap asap before birds make a nest in there or rain coming down. Armond responded quickly and was able to come out the very next morning. We are located in the vicinity of the fire-impacted zones of Pasadena. We had to get our chimney cleaned out from the ash/debris that came in, get a new rain cap installed, and have some minor repair work completed. Right off the bat, Armond was friendly over the phone, promptly returned my call, and was flexible when I needed to reschedule the first appointment. The service itself was great - chimney is looking very clean, the rain cap is nicely installed and looks good, and the crown of our chimney is sealed up and fixed. They were easy to get a hold of and schedule an inspection, during the inspection they notice a crack in the chimney above the roofline and were able to repair it the same day. I moved into a place that has a fireplace and I've never had one before. It looked really dirty and full of spider webs. My partner said I needed a chimney sweep, did his research, and set up an appointment with Royal Chimney Sweeps. Armand came in and educated me. He pointed out things and explained how they could be potential problems and told me how it can be fixed. He did it in a way that was comforting instead of being an alarmist. The prices he quoted was beyond reasonable as I've heard of problems with fireplaces costing an arm and a leg. After he cleaned the fireplace, it was like night and day. He also put on a new cap, fixed the crown, fixed the cracking brick outside of the fireplace, and put on a clean out door. Everything he did, he went into detail in explaining why it was needed and it all made sense to me. Originally, I had a wood burning fire place but because it can be so messy and I wasn't comfortable with it, I asked if he can turn it into a gas fireplace. There was already a gas line to light the wood so he was able to do his thing and add gas logs. We have a fireplace that we have not used since we purchased the house so we had Andre from Royal Chimney Sweeps come clean and inspect it. He was on time, kind, and knowledgeable. After everything was cleaned, he walked us through various repairs that needed to be made and explained how the fireplace worked. He didn't try to sell us anything and even suggested that we could do some of the work ourselves if we are handy(haha, we are not!). Needless to say, we had them back to fix our crown and replace our damper and ash dump/clean out doors. Armond called to tell us he and Andre were running 20 minutes late, which was nice. We got another run through of everything that was done and they did a final check for gas leaks. All the replacement parts looked really high quality compared to what we had in place before. I recently bought a house and have been finding things that need to be fixed (). I was wary of turning on the fireplace because I was scared lack of care would find several bird families living in it . I called Armand to come do a clean and general inspection. I also needed a cap. Armand and Andre showed up and we're wonderful. As a single female it's easy to be talked down to and made to feel inferior and these guys has not one iota of this. They explained everything they were doing, placed the cap, cleaned out the fireplace ( and left no evidence they had even been there) and confirmed that my chimney crown needed to be replaced ( my inspection had said the same). Armond and his coworker showed up on time and evaluated my chimney which had some big cracks in it towards the top. Armond said if something inside is lifting the cracks cannot be filled in until they fix the inside and it would be a couple of thousand dollars I'm so glad they are so honest and said ur all good cause I would of never knew if they was telling the truth or not. He explained my cracks are from water cause I didn't have a chimney cap so he and his worker filled in all the cracks and put a chimney cap on and two hours later was as good as new. Armand quoted a very reasonable $89-$119 to clean it prior to the visit and, although my chimney was excessively dirty (since a cleaning was embarrassingly 20-some years overdue), that's what it cost to clean it. They also installed a cap on my chimney to my satisfaction. They were on time, courteous, clean, wore COVID masks, did a great job (and I'm picky!) and didn't upsell me on anything.
