I really wanted to like Royal Donut, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The donuts were noticeably small for the price, with a half dozen costing over $10. For that price, I expected a better value and more generous portions. The donuts were also barely iced, which took away from what I expected from a donut shop. To make matters worse, the worker accidentally grabbed the wrong donut for us. Mistakes happen, but it was frustrating, especially after already paying a premium price. The donuts themselves weren't terrible, but the combination of small portions, high prices, minimal icing, and the incorrect order made the overall experience underwhelming. I hope they consider improving the value and paying closer attention to orders. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I wouldn't be in a hurry to return. read more

Under $18 a dozen for a reason. Dry glazed plain and strawberry glazed yeast donuts. Not too thick- rather anemic in volume actually compared to the other donut shops I've been trying lately- but wow almost inedible dryness and lack of flavor. The plain cake and even the blueberry cake donuts were dry inside! No crispness anywhere on any of the cake donuts. Bad artificial strawberry glaze flavor and not good blueberry cake flavoring. Just bad all around. I got the pistachio cream fulled chocolate glazed yeast donut. If I close my eyes and lie to myself, the neon blue filling remotely sorta kinda tastes like pistachio but honest to god it had basically zero reminiscent flavor at all. Delicious donuts - always fresh! Iced maple cream filled & black raspberry jam filled are my favorites...but there are lots of yummy choices

This was my first time stopping into this donut shop, and even with a longer drive this will be my new go to for donuts. My dad told me about this place as they are his favorite donuts, and they did not disappoint. Classic old school donut shop with a great vibe and variety. they offer hot coffee as well and even have some fun Capuchino options. they have a great selection of donuts along with some other fun things like eclairs, fritters, honey buns, coffee rolls, muffins and more. their powdered sugar donuts are by far the best I've had, they are so light and fluffy and the cream/filling on the inside is amazing with whatever you choose. the edges are almost flakey/crispy and melt in your mouth, wow. they fill their donuts the perfect amount, not too much and not too little, they are generous with it. The service was great, everyone was so nice and helpful with recommendations. Definitely a must go for donuts if you love the old-school style, good prices, and you can even sit outside. read more

For many many years I've seen this donut shop but never came inside because I always ended up going to a franchise. As I got older I started to have more of an appreciation for fresh donuts so I decided to come here at 6am. This place is family owned and have the freshest donuts in Parma. My kid has been on a blueberry kick lately so it only seemed appropriate for me to purchase a lot of their blueberry donuts which did not disappoint. It also spoke volumes to me when this was the first box gone during one of the donut events I had at work. Definitely give this place a try for some fresh donuts! read more

Great donuts! I love donuts and am always on the lookout for great ones. These definitely fit the bill and are some of the best donuts in Northeast Ohio. When I'm near Parma, I usually go to Jack Frost. Those are good, but I think they're a bit overhyped and definitely overpriced. I think Royal Donuts will now be my go-to in that area. Today I picked up 8 donuts- 3 powdered white creme filled, 1 maple white creme, and 4 glazed. Total cost for the 8 donuts was $11.50 and they were all delicious! My sister and I were on a mission to find good donuts in her new neighborhood and when I saw this place with a bunch of older gentlemen sitting inside and outside I knew this had to be our place. This place is great and it seems like it's open forever, especially for being locally owned. They know their donuts and do them well. If you're in the area I'd recommend stopping here rather then going to the nearby Dunkin Donuts. They have a wide selection of donuts and it'll satisfy whichever donut craving you may have. I'm a fan of the double chocolate. They also have a chocolate cream donut which is also good but you REALLY have to be in the mood for something sweet. It's like half a chocolate flavor half a sugar flavor, all delicious. There's also seasonal options. Basically what I'm getting at is that there are a LOT of options. There's plenty of seating if you want to just sit there and relax. Bring a crossword puzzle, join the locals. read more

I have been trying to find a good filled stick and I finally found one! A lot of places seem to be using custard or thick icing to fill their donuts. The doughnuts tasted like ones you would just grab really quick from a gas station. These are not special... The banana creme filling and cherry frosting were that strong artificial flavor. I mean, I wasn't disgusted with them, but they were nothing to crave and I won't be back. Also they left the case open, which grosses me out because that means bugs can get in. Even though they had signs on the door saying you needed to wear a mask to enter, not a single customer was wearing a mask. They were two sitting inside and another two who came in. One blocking an entrance smoking. No masks anywhere to be seen. The young woman who served me had a mask on, which is something. HOLEY DONUTS ! ! ! WOW ! The Chocolate Fried-Cake-Style with a light clear sugar glaze are OUT OF THIS WORLD ! This holey wonder---whose Earthly home-base is Cleveland, Ohio in a re-purposed drive-in from the 1950's---must have come here from another planet, and is now replicating itself every morning just to keep us content and unsuspicious. I don't live nearby, but when in the neighborhood for business, or other, I'll stop in for half a dozen to take home. About twenty years ago, an employee brought some to work and I couldn't believe how delicious they were. Twenty years later they're exactly the same---slightly crisp exterior, tender moist interior, and deliciously mild chocolate flavor. I'm very particular about donuts, cakes and pastries, so very rarely purchase. Even restaurants and bakeries extolled for their sweet offerings leave me unimpressed. My grandmother always held the number one spot, with Hough's Bakery number two. They're both gone now, so I seldom eat desserts of any type, but I'll make an exception for an occasional Royal Donut indulgence. I highly recommend it. (It's so good I've never bothered trying any of the other donuts that they offer.) They sometimes sell out early, so call in advance. read more

Was driving on State Rd. and decided to look for some quick breakfast grub to go. I passed by Royal Donut and saw their sign advertising their Pumpkin with Cream Cheese donut. It intrigued me, but I didn't really want donuts for breakfast, so I kept driving. As I moved forward, I wasn't really seeing anything that caught my eye... I wasn't interested in BK or McD's, or the like either. Instead of driving around aimlessly, I decided to turn around and succumb to my intrigue with the Pumpkin Cream Cheese donuts. I decided to get a dozen so I can bring some home for the family to try. I was disappointed to find that these donuts are considered "specialty" and does not count in the dozen offer. I asked how much they were and was told they are $1.50 a piece or 6 for $7.50. Wow! Okay, fine... give me half a dozen. When she put them in the box, I noticed that they're cake donuts, which I'm not crazy about. They sliced them in half and filled the middle with cream cheese... like a bagel. So I tried one right away and was not disappointed. They were pretty good. Not sure if it's something I'd make a special trip for, but would definitely try again if I'm in the area and in the mood for donuts. read more

There's a Dunkin' Donuts just east of here on Snow Road. It seems like it makes sense to compare them. At Royal Donut you get better prices, worse coffee and better donuts. Sometimes they don't seem as fresh but if you get up early you'll be fine. At Dunkin' Donuts, you payt more, get better coffee and all the dounts taste the same. They sell a bunch of yucky microwaved egg sandwich things too but don't bother. Royal Donut sells donuts and coffee. I like this place but it might seem a bitt ratty to some people. Grew up and still live in the local Royal Donut area but haven't been there for over 20 years. Stopped today as I was intrigued by the sign that said coconut cream donuts - as I love a good coconut cream pie slice (from Amish Country) - first drove by but on my return I pulled in to get the donuts. Was disappointed. They were just the plain white cream filled donut with strong artificial coconut flavoring - I was thinking that they would be the white cream with real coconut flakes mixed in - not so.
