I was beyond impressed with the customer service provided at Royal Eats! My server, Xhulio, provided excellent service and asked me if I had any questions about the menu since I had never been there before. For my beverage, I ordered the iced vanilla latte and WOW it exceeded my expectations. It was very delicious and I loved the mason jar glass that it came in. For my meal, I ordered the Hash Bash Skillet that had crispy potatoes, cheese, corned beef, green pepper, and egg. It was paired with a side of toast and jam (I chose rye). It was very flavorful and the portion sizes were large. Both Xhulio and the chef came over to ask if I was enjoying my meal, which I thought was very kind. I can tell they genuinely care about their customers and providing a good dining experience!

Decided to give Royal Eats another try. We were greeted upon entering the doors and given drinks and menus. Our server was very nice and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was hot and delicious. I really enjoyed the crispy fries that were perfectly salted. The restaurant felt clean and bright.

Seat yourself here. It's a decent size space. It's always good to see the downtown buildings occupied. This used to be the gaming and then the Indian restaurant before. Only open a couple of weeks. The honeycomb lights are way too harsh of a bright light if you look out at the dining area at all. Would be better if they were soft white to match their Order here lit signs. No Green tea here. :( Ordered black coffee, side of Fruit, French toast club with turkey bacon and turkey sausage, a croissant sandwich with turkey sausage, over hard egg, turkey bacon, pepper jack, romaine and tomato too, house green salad and half order of the cinnamon swirl French toast. Kudos for having a turkey bacon and turkey sausage as options. They give you a cash option, they charge you for using a CC. The stuffed French roast and cinnamon swirl French toast sounded good as well, but I think we ordered enough food this morning. They do have Delight brand coffee creamers, may not be in your condiment bowl, do ask for them. The Coffee Mate and the French Vanilla GF brand is what was in our cup at the table. The side green salad was just average. It had some wilted old red lettuce leaves. The dressing is a super sweet, maybe a bottled Italian dressing, it is not for me. Side fruit is okay. The blueberries and raspberries are a bit mature. The build my own square croissant was yummy. I did put some side of chipotle mayo on it, made it much better and flavorful. The square croissant is different for sure. The cinnamon swirl French toast was quite good. The brioche makes any French toast better. The service here is really good. The team works collectively with each table. Customer service is tops here. Management / owners are focused on what they can work on since they are still new.

I stopped by this recently opened establishment on a late-afternoon weekday and was seated immediately in the sparsely filled restaurant. I enjoyed a very flavorful cup of chicken noodle soup for an appetizer and the social burger with a wonderfully displayed brioche bun. My dessert was a chocolate shake that, unfortunately, was small for the price, thin, and missing the cherry. Low/high-top, booth, and bar seating. Very clean with excellent service. Credit card fee. They are supposed to have great breakfast items. I would return but pass on the shake.

This was such a gem by the zoo. We decided to do brunch here first and were so glad we did. We did go on a Wednesday morning, so it wasn't that busy and sat right away. Our server was absolutely lovely, and recommended to us the French Toast Club. Holy cow was it delicious, would recommend. I may have to go there every time I go to the zoo just to have it. And it's big enough to split! Perfectly sweet and savory. Ambiance was classic diner which was cute. My only criticism is a lack of coffee options, but they're a diner not cafe (:

Awesome brand new place with upscale brunch choices. The servers are sweet and energetic! I had the French Toast Club, it was delicious. Their version of a Monte Cristo. The owner came and introduced himself. Great vibes. Lavazza coffee, and a beautiful space. Come try it out!

Had a great experience coming here for the first time! Grabbed brunch with friends over the weekend and everything was lovely here from the food to the service! All of the staff was very friendly and came by often to check on us and refill waters. They had a lot of items I'd love to come back to try on their menu, too.

Paris and the Saganaki ... OPA!!

Get here before the word gets out! The food is Excellent! So far, the Cevapi & Saganaki are my favorites! Paris served us well. She's friendly, courteous and made great suggestions. The layout and the artwork are clean, modern and centered on Detroit. Love that! Will return soon for brunch!!

Attentive and friendly servers. Food was good quality breakfast food. Coffee is ok. Excellent fountain Diet Coke. Nice, bright, clean atmosphere. We got the Avenue Sandwich with turkey bacon & the Breakfast Tacos (avocado on the side).

We keep coming back! The food is always delicious, the wait staff are friendly and genuine, and every dish is high quality and full of flavor. This is a brand new addition to downtown RO, and they are doing a great job! So glad to become regulars.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

The city was bustling with people, and I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the downtown area was. The café had a vibrant, energetic atmosphere that perfectly matched the excitement of the city. Our server was absolutely amazing and made excellent recommendations. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. Based on the recommendation, I ordered the corned beef hash with the cinnamon pancakes, and both were fantastic. Next time, I definitely want to try the red velvet pancakes! My friend ordered the Triple Triple Omelette with the original buttermilk pancakes, and we both chose the cheesy grits. The cheesy grits were very creamy, though I would recommend adding a little more butter to enhance the flavor. That was really my only critique. The restaurant was busy, but after dining there, I completely understand why. Despite the crowd, we were greeted immediately, and the service was prompt throughout our visit. Overall, Hudson Café delivered great food, outstanding service, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. I will most certainly be back the next time I'm in downtown Detroit!

I imagine a reservation is a must for a weekend. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, and drinks and food came out quickly. I appreciate they have espresso drinks, and ordered the chai latte but it was a little too sweet for me - I'd go with a plain latte next time. I also think I may have ordered the wrong dish because my mom got an omelette with pancakes on the side and enjoyed it. I gambled with the huevos rancheros but they were just ok. I wish the potatoes were more seasoned. You definitely get a huge portion for whatever you order so expect to split with someone or have leftovers. All in all, a solid brunch spot but not a favorite.

I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.
