A facial experience with Beauty Republic is really unlike anything else out there. One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. Many skincare businesses have a problem with this because so many products that are out there are not actually clean and non-toxic. This was not a problem at Beauty Republic though. Not only did my skin feel fantastic post-facial, they sell products that I can buy to use at home, and there are so many options to choose from that meet my criteria of being clean and non-toxic! Beauty Republic is now located at the address reflected on their business page here on Yelp. The studio is actually located on a residential property, but it is NOT inside the main house. They make sure to provide you with instructions via text message the day of your appointment, which is very helpful. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment. After my facial, Vanessa was gracious with her time and gave me some tips on how to use my gua sha stone at home. Her energy is wonderful and both she and Marissa seem to be super dedicated to continuing their education and developing all the skills they need to be the best! Foaming washes, black peel masks, etc. I hadn't even bothered to read the label of things I was putting on my face and still curious is to why I was breaking out like a 14 year old teenager. Krista and I had the chance to sit down in a FREE consultation and discuss everything about me and my skin. She discussed things like certain foods in my diet, my own skin care routine, hydration, and dangerous chemicals in certain products. Anytime I had a question, she had a well thought out answer. And if she didn't know, she'd research and find the answer for both of us. After the consultation I set up an appointment with her to do a skin treatment. She has created a very beautiful, most importantly, clean atmosphere to go about treatments. It's really in the name. Face It, girl's got aesthetic. She makes sure you're comfortable throughout the treatment by being personable and checking in on you and your comfort level. Post treatment she set me up with a whole new line of much healthier skin products. Since using said products, my skin has never felt softer, smelled this amazing or glowed this bright! I've gone to many providers to get IPL which is intense photo light therapy for the face. In the…read morelast year, I've gone here twice and I bought a session for my husband to get a color correcting session for an area that was heavily pigmented. My husband had excellent results immediately with one session on his lower leg that had a red patch. I'm in a maintenance phase, so I didn't expect to get dramatic results. Elite Skin Studio is clean, sparse and not as spa like as other locations I've gone to. Other spa locations I've been to, a nurse provides the service and explains what they're doing as they go along. Here the provider makes sure I'm not in any discomfort after numbing my skin and zips through, with the whole session done quickly in five minutes which makes me feel like I'm not getting as thorough coverage. In the past, a session might take twenty minutes and I'd ice my skin afterwards for five minutes, but here I'd leave without any warmth or redness reaction that I've come to expect from this service. Usually in the days afterwards one gets a pigment lift or a response from IPL, and at this studio I didn't get the visible response I hoped for to lift pigment from the deep layers of the skin. Sadly after the COVID-19 pandemic the places I loved just didn't stay in business and I'm looking for a similar quality locations. If you're wanting to get your first IPL, I recommend Elite Skin studio. I've had a very timely response and the staff gets me in and out really quickly. I think this is a place for an introduction as it's less intense and not customized; meaning I wasn't asked if I had areas of concern( red areas or browns spots of concern I wanted to be addressed) and the intense part of IPL was not adjusted, so it was just photo therapy that provided minimal response for me. In general, I would expect that your skin would be warm immediately afterwards. You'd need to protect it from heat exposure and use sunscreen diligently for several days, getting some visible pigment lift over a week or so with ultimate results in two weeks. It's been six days since my last session and I can't see any response to the service. The studio offers cool sculpting and other services, that I haven't tried but for this one service it didn't provide results for me.
