Best Indian food I've ever had. My girlfriend put me on to Indian bout 3 years ago and we've been to restaurants in Utah, North Carolina, upstate NY and countless ones in NJ where we are from. This is by far the best one. My girlfriend got the butter chicken and I got the lamb tandoori with the garlic Naan as an appetizer. The service was awesome and their measures for COVID were great. If we ever venture back out to Bar Harbor, we are 100% coming back to eat here. read more

We ordered chole, shahi paneer, garlic naan, and Onion bhaji. The food tasted good. But I had food poisoning in the night. The paneer messed up my stomach and I'm not lactose intolerant. The other food tasted good. I would just skip the paneer. read more

Go here if you really craving Indian food. If you have a discriminating palate and are looking for Indian food as it is meant to be - full of flavor and deep colors, you'll be highly disappointed. Food was very good and tasty. Service was great. I had the butter chicken and it was absolutely delicious.

Food was delicious and they have one of the nicer outdoor seating areas imo. Sometimes indian places that pop in at touristy places like this are watered down or not spicy but the Butter Chicken and Sagg curries were great and the naan was yummy though a bit thicker than what we are use to. Largely I'm writing this review in the hopes that some changes are made to accommodate the sweet, wonderful staff. We watched this place completely fall apart in the course of a busy weekend evening. It was the perfect storm of 1) forcing the poor, timid hostess to manage two waitlists (indoor and outdoor) and call when their tables were ready on top of taking orders 2) taking too many takeout orders on an already busy night that backed up the kitchen 3) angry waiting guests, and 4) basically the most useless manager/owner. I hope whoever is in charge will take note and allow the hostess to just be a hostess, enforce when it's time to turn away tables/takeout orders when they clearly can't handle anymore, schedule an additional on-call server, and actually take initiative as the person in charge by speaking to disgruntled customers, checking in on tables, and stepping in to help struggling staff. Just to give you an idea what happened, we were told the wait was 20-25 minutes and ended up waiting about 80 minutes to be sat and about another hour for our food. We were sat outside right along the door so could perfectly see what was happening inside with the manager and the conversations being had with the hostess...we even stepped in by answering a few people's questions when the hostess was too busy to help them! We alternated most of our time making fun of rude, entitled, angry customers and feeling sorry for staff since they were getting heat on both ends, thus we just were happy when our food arrived warm and delicious. Hoping this was a one-off experience and this place can figure it out to create a better environment for all. Also please just tip your servers, it's not usually their fault and most likely they deserve it for putting up with you. read more

Food is good, chana Masala & palak paneer. Also had Momos & onion Bhajis. Problem is that dinner portions are really small. The containers for both of the dishes I mentioned above were 1 cup size, same small size as the rice. The prices are higher than NYC, but at least there, the portions are much larger. read more

Came here with my family on a trip to Acadia, and we were really glad to see an Indian food option readily available. The servers were very nice and courteous, and the food was pretty good! We really enjoyed the dal, veg pakoras, and the paneer. read more

We ordered from here for pick-up while visiting Bar Harbor, as we needed a change from the same food served everywhere else. We ordered the palak paneer, which is my favorite, and the aloo gobi. When we got back to our B&B, I saw that my palak paneer had mushrooms in it. I did not love the addition at all, and the curry itself was more watery than I would like. I called the restaurant, who without hesitation offered to either deliver me the correct order or refund the dish, which I so appreciated. The aloo gobi was good, although it seemed to be 90% cauliflower (somewhat undercooked) and very few potatoes. My honest review would be three stars, but I added a star for great customer service. We would be willing to try this place again, as I think they can probably do better. read more

A solid option in Bar Harbor. We've eaten here on 3 occasions and have been happy each time. We live in the Washington, DC area and regularly eat Indian food. That doesn't make me an expert on it but I am very familiar with it and know what I like. The most recent time we ate here was in early June and we went only about 40 minutes before closing but they happily sat us and provided very good service (in fact, 2 parties came after us and they graciously welcomed them too). I got coconut chicken and I liked it but I will probably go back to chicken tikka masala or saag chicken or saag paneer next time. My husband got chicken vindaloo, which is traditionally spicy, so our server asked if spicy was okay and my husband said yes. He can handle the heat and regularly eats very spicy food but this kicked his butt. So word of warning, if you can't handle super spicy, ask them to dial back the heat. Oh, and their butter naan rocks. read more

The momos were solid but the curries surprised us because they actually came out a bit spicy, not bland and dulled down. Kept smelling the indian food when going to the restaurant next to it. Having eaten lobster for 4 days in a row, needed *gasp* a break and stopped in. Seemed like they ran more delivery (the sign said free delivery) or pick-up as I didn't see anyone dining there. Wasn't too hungry, but got the aloo gobi. Was not too saucy and the level of spice was just perfect. This is a new business and you have to applaud them for getting started during the pandemic. We visited in late afternoon after a day of hiking and were hoping for some great traditional fare which is what we received. We had Chicken Tika Masalla and Saag Paneer. Serving sizes were adequate but not generous. Medium spice was flavorful. Chicken was tender. We also enjoyed a generous serving of garlic naan which was delicious. They had a nice selection of local draft beer. They offered indoor and outdoor seating and during these times we prefer outdoor. Though they had about seven tables four were full of dirty dishes and two were occupied so we took the only one available. Our server took our order and served us in a reasonable amount of time. Several folks stopped on the sidewalk to check it out but I think we're put off by the pile of dishes. The other two tables left but still no tables were bussed. As we were leaving a young lady came to work and began bussing all of the outside dirty tables. Parking is a bit of a problem so be prepared to drive around a bit. There is no parking at the restaurant on a side street off the main drag just blocks from the harbor. If you want desert I suggest walking to the harbor and grabbing fudge or ice cream from one of several options. So, food was very good, beer was cold, service was fine, organization and task maintenance was lacking. I'd go again. read more

Host was very nice. Service was ok. Chicken Korma was delicious but expensive for such a small portion. Chicken mono were overly Gingery and overcooked. And WAY overpriced. Rice was mostly broken small pieces. Garlic naan was quite good. Came here for lunch on a whim while on vacation. Usually wouldn't stop for Indian food while at a beach side town, but we had a craving for something warm and hearty. I am SO glad we stopped by. Excellent place in this small town. One of the most disciplined and professional staff ever encountered who were dealing with unusual volumes on a peak day. The owner, Diwas, and his entire team made sure every Customer was treated well inspite of all the running around that every member had to do. Though we were well past the closure time, they made sure all the guests were served as promised before they shut shop. Not to forget that the food too was as good as expected. After spending 4 days in Maine we had the urge for Asian. Being way up in Bar Harbor we didn't know what to expect and based on reviews this is a new restaurant. We decided to give it a try and it hit the spot. We're from Boston and big fan of Indian food with some Nepal region influence. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. My kids got the Chicken Tikki Masala along with butter Naan and they loved it. We got the Channa Masala and the Chicken Tandoori. It was high quality and delicious! I am giving them a 5 Star based on how we felt while dining here. We left Very satisfied! We highly recommend. read more
