Went here to have Paan.... It's was quick service , we had Calcutta Metha paan and Kashmiri paan. I like Calcutta better and it was sweet just as I liked. We also took Faldo but it was not what I expected as it was not just kulfi and Faldo it was rabdi mix with that which was not I was looking for. They have food option also which was surprising but we didn't had food though. Ambience was decent enough. I felt female on counter was little rude and she can be better in treating customer coming for first time.

As the name suggest, its a paan shop. ( sweet betle leaf) but not only paan is served, you can also get some indian snacks or street food to munch on. Seating area is clean and spacious. Small menu of selective items and drinks. No alcoholic though. If you haven't had paan before then do little bit of research /google search before you go coz its not everyone's cup of tea. Some find it a good mouth freshner after spicy indian food other just cant stand the taste of it. FYI betel leaf has many health benefits

What a discovery while I was visiting Payal Plaza, and Indian shopping market. Royal Paan specializes in vegetarian food (especially Indian street food), and I am sucker for it. The inside is very nice, and Indian diner type. The service is excellent. Our waitress was awesome. My sisters and I have shared, Kashmiri yogurt pani puri, Dalebi ( I called mashed potato burger) and my favorite pav bhaji. Plus mango lassi (freshly made) and masala chai. Every single dish and drink were so so good. By writing this review I am getting hungry for it. Too bad it's all the way in the other side of the country. But I discovered they have a branch In Ottawa... road trip!!!

I stopped by here for lunch on a friend's recommendation. My friend ordered a few items for us to share: chaat papdi, pav bhaji and Szechuan noodles. I ordered a mango lassi for my drink order. Food arrived after a short wait. The chaat papdi was refreshing. It was crunchy wafers, mixed with some veggies. There was a generous amount of the yogurt and sauces. It was not spicy. The pav bhaji was good. It was two soft buttered buns served with a side of spicy mashed veggies mix. It was more of a puréed texture. This was Indian level spicy. If you cannot tolerate the heat level, you need to let the kitchen know. It was a medium level Asian spicy. The Szechuan noodles were also spicy with the Indian flare. This was more of the Chinese fusion with a heavy Indian influence. The mango lassi was good and helped balanced the meal. Service was good. Our server explained the difference between a mango lassi and a mango shake as well as a couple food items off the menu. Food arrived fairly quickly. Restrooms needed a good cleaning as it seems like it had been a couple weeks since the last clean. One restroom was out of hand soap so I had to go to the next restroom to find some. Hand sanitizer was available at the main section of the restaurant.

Love their faluda kulfis, and sweet paan. Bhelpuri was okayish. Rabri faluda is very creamy and delicious and the other faluda drinks are amazing as well.

Went to this place for back to back two days (Dinner + Lunch (next day)). We tried a lot of things from their menu. Pav bhaji + sev batata puri +Bombay grill+dabeli+Indian style pizza+Kashmiri paan+ royal falooda + kulfi falooda + kulfi + jeera masala soda+ paani poori+ shezwaan idli + masala dosa. Everything was good. Paan, falooda and kulfi were outstanding- strongly recommend to try this if you ever visit this place. The only downside was their service. It was very slow and there were times when we had to remind them to get our food. For example we ordered pain poori at the very beginning. We had to remind them several times to get it.

I was not expecting this restaurant to be as big as it is. The space here is truly massive, and…read morewhile it was mostly empty when we came at around 2:30 - I can picture the hubbub of activity that would be present during peak dinner hours. This does seem to be a highly recommended place to eat Indian food in Surrey. I had the Non-Veg Thali, which isn't on the menu, but the waitress helpfully let us know about. It's very customizable - and I went with garlic naan, rice, two tandoori chicken pieces, lamb vindaloo, and shahi paneer - all in a single plate! Pretty much everything was excellent. I'm not even sure where to start. The garlic naan was fantastic. Soft, buttery, with just a slight hint of garlic and lightly charred on the outside. I could honestly eat this by itself and be satisfied. Garlic naan is a staple of what I order whenever eating Indian food, and this might be the best one I've had. The shahi paneer was also great; tomato-forward, creamy, and the paneer was super soft. The lamb vindaloo was a real standout. It was immensely flavorful - not lacking for spice at all - but you don't just taste capsaicin - you taste all the cumin, cardamom, and garam mixed in with the curry. But the lamb itself is the best part of the curry; it's so tender and juicy. The absolute peak, though, was the tandoori chicken. These were two large dark meat pieces, which were cooked to absolute perfection - retaining so much juice and fat. The skin was a perfect deep orange, seasoned with a ton more spices. It's like eating fried chicken but without the breading, but this was arguably even better. The masala fries were the only thing kind of a miss - as they lacked any masala. The price of the thali was only 23 CAD. That's a pretty insane deal for how much food you get - I was unable to finish everything on my plate despite being very hungry. Honestly two people could share this and be satisfied. When you consider how much sharing and new orders for bread, rice, and curries goes on at your typical Indian restaurant, this is crazy good value. Overall, I would classify this as the best Indian food I've had outside of Asia. 9.5/10

We even arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. The samosas were crispy and flavorful. The lamb curry was super tender and had a nice spice. There are 2 locations - this location can walk in to order any kind of samosa, while the other location will require preorder 1 day notice for samosas that are not the potato & peas original one. I went here on a Saturday 11am and there was a good amount of people picking up bulk orders, but since we wanted to try the quality of the samosas, we ordered by the piece. Each piece is around 1-2 CAD each which is very good price. We got 1 of each (potato & peas (original), garden mix vegetables, beef, chicken, paneer, and butter chicken). We got a small tamarind chutney sauce for 0.50CAD extra. Total was around 9 CAD which is quite a solid price for a meal for 1 person (snack for 2 people). I liked their potato & peas (original) the most and all their vegetarian options are solid. The meat options are more ground meat so I'm not that big of a fan, but they're still good. It's just the value lies in the vegetarian samosas. Next time I bring a cooler and order in bulk, to enjoy at the comfort of my home for multiple meals!

This restaurant absolutely blew us away - the vibe, the atmosphere...everything was electric! The combination of thoughtful service, stunning design, and unforgettable flavours makes this restaurant an easy five-star destination. A big kudos to the entire team at Haveli for their excellent service and making our evening so memorable. Each and every item right from starters to main course to the desserts was of top-notch quality and taste. It's clear that a lot of love and skill goes into the menu -- from the starters to dessert, each bite was a joy. The entire night was exceptional; from the food, to the service, everything was incredibly thoughtful and contributed to an unforgettable dining experience! The chef is straight up mind-boggling...insanely talented and honestly exactly what Surrey needs right now. The balance of spices is impeccable--rich, aromatic, and layered in a way that shows real mastery in the kitchen. The flavours were incredibly authentic, capturing the essence of traditional Indian cuisine perfectly. Each dish was crafted with precision, balancing spices and ingredients in ways that surprised and delighted us. Every plate was presented with care, and each bite reaffirmed just how much love and skill goes into the cooking here. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, filled with diners clearly enjoying themselves, a testament to how comfortable and inviting this restaurant is. From the very beginning we felt well taken care of. The staff deserve special praise. They are friendly, attentive and genuinely care about every guest's experience. Staff went above and beyond to provide a memorable experience. From the moment you walk in, you can't take your eyes off how beautifully designed and set up the restaurant is. The restaurant's interior was outstanding--modern, elegant, and inviting, which added to the overall ambiance. It creates a warm yet grand atmosphere that makes the whole dining experience feel special. From the presentation to the service, everything feels luxurious and unforgettable. We kicked things off with the Fish Pakora. As soon as it hit the table we just knew it was going to be good! Make sure to have a break, and have a KitKat shake! The Chilli Chicken brought that bold Indo-Chinese kick! But the Kadahi Chicken took centre stage! You can never go wrong with the Garlic Naan! And the Sizzling Brownie? It's rich, it's gooey, & served piping hot! But the real highlight? The live music! This place just tops it all! Good music, good food and a vibe that stays unmatched! I highly recommend Haveli for anyone looking for an elegant dining experience with incredible food and ambiance. In short: a standout restaurant that delivers on every level--food, service, and atmosphere. What more could you want? Honestly, words can't describe. Get yourself here now!

READ ITS INTERESTING REVIEW-:…read more I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 4 years, and what happened today was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. One of the owners, Mr. Bishnu, knows me very well since I've been coming here regularly for years. A few months ago, when I tried to order a plate of noodles, I was told the wait time would be 40 minutes, so I cancelled the order. After about an hour, I called back thinking the wait might be shorter, but I was told it would now take 50 minutes. I still agreed to wait and picked up the order. At that time, I left a 1-star review because of the excessive wait time, but later I realized it might have been harsh and I deleted the review. However, what happened today completely changed my perception of this place. I went there to refer a friend for a job, because Mr. Bishnu himself had previously asked me to bring her. Instead of a normal conversation, he confronted me about that old review. During the conversation he said that if I "behave like this" I will not be welcomed at the restaurant anymore -- simply because I once left a review about slow service. The attitude was extremely egoistic and disrespectful. Even when I calmly tried to explain that this is not the way you treat a customer who has been supporting your business for years, his response was shocking. His exact words were essentially: "It's fine if you don't come. It won't make any difference to my restaurant. Even Mr Bishnu used a word " I don't care and F*ck about people" Imagine telling that to someone who has been coming here for 4 years, recommending the place to friends, and bringing new customers who also continued coming. This kind of arrogance toward loyal customers is unbelievable. A business should value feedback and long-time customers, not threaten them or dismiss them because of one honest review about service delays. After today's experience, I honestly feel disrespected and unwelcome, and I would strongly suggest other customers think twice before supporting a place where customer loyalty clearly means nothing. Mr Bishnu you lost a loyal customer to SPICE OF NEPAL & KATHMANDU BAR AND GRILLfor sure. If there are lot of other customers for you , there are lot of other restaurants around. I checked the reviews of various Payal eateries the night before our trip, and Navraj sounded good. Clearly, we made the right choice. Everything about this experience was very positive. First, we received a quick and friendly welcome. We arrived before noon and had no trouble getting a booth. After perusing the extensive menu we decided on the lunch special which, on Thursday, happened to be two of our favourites: Palak Paneer and Butter Chicken. Specials are different every day. Soon the thalis arrived and we were amazed at the lovely portion size. Besides the two main dishes (we did not have to choose, we got them both), there was Basmati rice, a warm buttered naan, raw veggies, and raita. Also included was warm gulab jamun. All for $15! The Palak Paneer was creamy with lots of soft paneer cubes. This is my favourite Indian dish and it did not disappoint. Lovely! The Butter Chicken sauce was rich and full of flavour, with tender chunks of chicken. The food was absolutely delicious! It was fresh and only mildly spicy. I was surprised at that, because I doubt they cater much to western tastes. I expected the food to be much hotter than it was. We had told the server we prefer mild spice, but did not really expect that. However, it was perfect for us. Full of flavour, mild spice, so we could really taste the food and not fighting the heat. Very impressive! Neither of us could eat all the food in one sitting, and we loaded up the take-out containers the server offered. We took home rice, naan and a container each of the Palak Paneer and the Butter Chicken. Service was friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome. Granddaughter enjoyed watching the Bollywood music and dance routines on the large screen. We left talking about how much we enjoyed the food and the lovely experience overall. It was a long trip to get there but we felt it was worth it, apart from anything else we did at Payal Centre, just to have that wonderful meal. We highly recommend Navraj Sweets and Restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Indian food. We would definitely go again!
