Per usual I ordered too much food when I know my stomach is a coward! I dont know how i ended up with a gargantuan pork steamed bun! I thought it was going to be average size, if not I woildnt have ordered that and the fried ones. The dumplings over all, but the chili oil they were floating in was not actually that flavorful. Service was good! If you go for the grocery store, its smaller then the Pan-Asian one but also less crowded! Will be back to try the bahn mi!

I like the food court here better and now there's a banh mi/pho place as well (haven't tried). They have homemade soy milk, frozen homemade dumplings, ducks and cakes for order. Their bakery section is no longer cash only, which is great. 888 seems to have the same range as Pan-Asia but I somehow find more Chinese and Vietnamese foods here. I was looking to make Vietnamese fried flour rice cakes (bánh bột chiên) and I could only find them here. Before Pan-Asia got a makeover, 888 was my go-to. They used to be worse about labeling prices, but they've gotten better. Unfortunately my most recent visit had a couple items on the receipt that were scanned extra times and my partner hadn't noticed. Staff if always nice and helpful otherwise. Always double check your receipts!

I looked up closest Asian grocery so I could get my grandma back feeling well w lots of fresh ingredients that most American stores don't offer. This was a mixture of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Filipino grocery so I also got to try new things. The store is very clean, organized and service was really friendly to help me find things I needed. I was also happy to see I could buy things to make my Vietnamese coffee since not a lot of coffee options in the area. They sell house goods, pans, some Asian skincare and Knick knacks you won't find in American stores. I was blessed to find it!

As soon as we walked in, we saw so many different fruits and vegetables that I had never seen before. When you enter, the food court is on the right, and all the food and boba looked really good. If you like sushi, there were some great looking options. As we walked along the back wall, we saw tanks with crabs and eels, which was super cool to see. They also had a lot of trinkets, along with different candy and snacks. The beauty section was nice too, with various products laid out that you could try. The service was good, and everyone seemed busy but helpful. It also looked pretty clean to me. Overall, it was a really nice experience!

Then I saw this quaint Asian store and knew I had to stop. Crossing over the threshold into this store takes you into another world. It is a world filled with new smells, bright colors and unusual items and I loved every minute of this experience. I know absolutely nothing about Asian food or grocery stores. Seriously NOTHING so this is a new adventure for me. There was one worker behind the register and I discovered this is a family store. The father owns two stores- one in Topeka and one in Overland Park. The son runs this store and he could not have been more helpful. He took the time to help me find my items and he explained how of the ingredients could be used. I had a million questions and he did not bat an eye. He was helpful, patient and kind. One thing I noticed is that the son/owner knew most of his customers by name. There seemed to be bevy of repeat customers because they were all familiar with each other. He even remembered what they had purchased on their last trip to the store. There were plenty of dry goods. This store had everything from sweets to plantain chips. Such a wide variety. They !so had a well stocked frozen section, too. They had plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, too. The produce was in the cooler and it all looked very fresh. The prices seemed very reasonable considering that most of the items had to be shipped long distances and this is a small store. I was not unhappy with the prices at all. There was plenty of parking in a big lot outside. This store is in a busy strip mall but parking does not seem to be an issue. There was also easy access to this store from the street. I do not often buy Indian food but if I ever need such products again, I know the exact store to shop. This store is amazing!

I ran in and got a sesame falafel bowl. I got rice as my base and added hummus, tahini, Taziki, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, feta, and olives, I think it may be the best falafel I've ever had!!! It's definitely one of the best! The sesame on top (and I believe there was sesame oil involved too) was amazing! There was a bit of heat to the falafel and it made it delicious. Not too hot but a little kick. The flavor was incredible and they were cooked perfectly. Fluffy inside and crispy on the outside! I did manage to take one picture of my bowl! It's a small place but has several tables to sit inside. You order and pick up at the counter. It was very clean and had a nice, cozy, easy going vibe. They don't have a large menu but still quite a few great choices. I want to try some of their other dishes but it's going to be very difficult to not order the sesame falafel. You can also order just 5 sesame falafel. I imagine there will never be a time that I go to Falafel Express and not have sesame falafel even if I get it as an extra! It is going on my special list of yummy places!
