Unfortunately the restaurant is not near any attractions/businesses so it was never busy during the 2 meals i had there. I guess the majority of customers are from the nearby hotel which is a shame. People are missing out. Good food at good prices and very friendly and efficient service. Jumbo wings with a dragoon ipa beer and a steak dinner with a full moon was our dinner. Very good food here and excellent customer service. They guys working are really down to earth people. The food was very flavorful and very well priced. If you are staying the Best Western you will get some coupons to use here. They also have a bar built in to the restaurant. This is our go to place for karaoke for the last 4 years We have tried other places, but always end up leaving them to come here. The crowd is always great and I've always felt comfortable singing. The drink specials are always great and they allow me to experience something new. read more

Hadn't been here in the 3 years since it's been remodeled. It is way more aesthetically pleasing now. The food is great and they didn't mind my low carb requests. I got two scrambled REAL eggs and 3 perfectly fried bacon strips. The teenager got a yogurt fruit bowl and the granola was served on the side...she has no real complaints other than her usual nagging. Lol. My a la carte selections were a $1 each- def not bad & the granola, yogurt & fruit bowl was just $5. We ended up taking the yogurt Bowl to go and were provided a sturdy little plastic container with a lid and plastic ware without request. So you can visualize the restaurant a little bit better you walk in, seat yourself, you can choose from booths, tables, or sitting at the bar. We chose the bar cuz I had a pretty fancy marblesque top. The color scheme is pretty awesome ranges from bright yellow, pale yellow, to tan. It sounds kind of weird but it goes extremely well. One of the cooks in the back explained that it must have been three years since I've been there because I was taking pictures and he wondered what I was doing. I told him I hadn't been there since the remodel. He explained everything that had been updated including the bar we were sitting at and the bathroom right next door. When trying to elevate your restaurant, it's vital that you communicate your vision to the line. I fear that the chef at this hotel-based eatery has failed to get the standards for execution across. My strip steak, ordered medium-rare came out medium-well and the sauteed Brussels sprouts were awash in cheap-tasting maple syrup water and way too much bacon. As for my wife's grilled romaine salad, that had to be sent back to be grilled. At least the chef is trying and that's better than a lot of places. read more

Sunday morning and I and friend were picking up a couple of pieces of art from a show that was closing, no one was there yet so we walked down the street to the Royal Sun. It is a throw back in time, not in a good way that mishmash of when the 80's came crashing into the 90's of southwest pastels and pungent browns' it was like the carpet and the colors left a visceral taste in my mouth.The waiter was kind of all over the place friendly one moment and then a little bitchy and edgy. After looking at the menu I asked "Ron what would you suggest" He told me not to call him by name even thought he had a name tag on. After the incident he was okay, but it was difficult to ask him for anything else. I really can't blame the guy, I wouldn't want to be working here either on a Sunday morning on a nice Tucson winter day. I will have to say the food was not bad, and the bacon cooked perfectly, but my friend got the ham and it was spongy. So if it is convenient to eat here go for it, but if there is a way to get out of it, I would veer in that direction of away. Also it was expensive for what it was. read more

We stayed at the Best Western on Stone while road tripping through Arizona. This is the restaurant/bar associated with it. Though the hotel isn't super fancy, this bar made it 100% worth it. We ended all three nights at this bar. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday and there are some very talented locals! However, hands down, the best part of this bar is Adam, the bartender. Not only is he personable and funny, he gave us a whole bunch of recommendations for tourists or for local spots. We really lucked out. If you're staying anywhere near this spot, I highly recommend stopping in!! read more

We decided to give this location a try. The wait person was very helpful and friendly. We started with an appetizer of potato skins. The arrived and were loaded with cheese and bacon. Quite tasty and a winner. We ordered an avocado burger, green chile burger, buffalo chicken sandwich and wings. The chicken sandwich was very tasty and delicious. I asked for my burger medium well. This is a lovely little hotel restaurant that I enjoy eating at every time I stay at the best Western Royal Sun. The stuff is very cheerful and pleasant. Food is actually quite good and I've had dinner there many times, including homemade soups, fresh salads, and the surprisingly sophisticated Steak Diane. Guests of the hotel get special coupons for two-for-one drinks and free breakfast which makes it extra nice. Breakfasts are hearty and all cooked to order. From the street this restaurant doesn't really look like much! We were staying at the Best Western on business and were absolutely blown away by the newly renovated rooms. Every little detail was impressive, from the bedding and decor to the contemporary bathroom and extras (like complimentary shoe shine kit, high-quality in-room coffee and ear plugs). We finished our business late and were tired and didn't want to drive anymore so we decided to just go down to the restaurant on property to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant decor is a bit dated, however, they are renovating as we speak and if the rooms are any indication the restaurant will be updated and modern as well. The menu and the food really surprised us, however. My business partner had the Black & Blue Burger (Cajun seasoned burger, Blue Cheese, bacon, caramelized onions) and was blown away. It was cooked perfectly (MR) and came to the table piping hot. She cut me a slice and I, too, was really, really impressed. I ordered the Jacked Up Ribeye (thick Ribeye covered in Jack Daniels mushroom sauce). My dish also came hot off the grill and the sauce was beyond expectation. Our server was fast, funny and attentive and what was intended to be a quick bite to fill our belly's before bed turned into an amazing meal and a really fun time. It reminded me of what my grandmother always used to say to me as a child... "never judge a book by it's cover"! read more

ZERO RATING The bartender named Kylie is very aggressive, disrespectful to customers and don't care for her customers which she said to us. I went to check out the Karaoke Restaurant/Bar and she let me and my cousin know we couldn't be there because we were too young (which is understandable) but her approach was rude and disrespectful. PLUS: this is after 30 min of us being there watching Karaoke. She came to us 3x in less than 1-2 minutes when we already were up on our feet by the second time her coming. She didn't even give us time to leave. She started waving her hands rudely escorting she us once we got up (we know where the door is) & she said she calling security. BOTTOMLINE: SHE AGGRESSIVE, DISRESPECTFUL, DOESN'T RESPECT CUSTOMERS. I highly recommend to NOT go there when she is there because she doesn't even care for her customers or serve them. My friends and I were in the mood for karaoke and decided to stop in. It was an odd feeling to park at the Best Western and to walk past hotel rooms towards the Royal Sun. We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the fun atmosphere of the lounge. Fellow patrons were super friendly and even bought us drinks, which are at affordable prices. Most of the people who sang had amazing voices and should totally try out for American Idol. We grabbed the microphone, even though we're tone deaf and had so much fun attempting to sing. It's nice that no one judges you with your singing skills and everyone is there to have a great time. This was such a hidden gem. Will definitely be coming back soon!! read more

We sing karaoke here from time to time, and I knew the restaurant was much better than what you'd expect attached to a Best Western. It wasn't until our friends got a Groupon that we decided to try it. Although the space looks like a place that's open 24 hours and serves breakfast anytime, they really do put a lot of thought into the food. We found some very good dishes here. Unfortunately, the quality was kind of uneven. No one liked the hard blueberry lemonade, which most of us found too gross to drink. The lemon cod was also extremely disappointing. Rubbery and fishy. Everything else was good. We loved the little caprese bites: very clever to put a salad on a stick. The potato skins went over well, also, but they went so fast that I didn't try any. The specials all looked good, and everyone who tried them liked them. The mediterranean chicken and the steak were favorites. I chose the salmon, which comes with 2 sides and soup or salad. The soup was French onion and it was really tasty, although put together in a really nonconservative fashion. Instead of dropping bread and cheese on top and toasting the whole thing, the cheese was melted at the bottom of the bowl, and the soup was covered with croutons. This made it difficult to eat, because, while I like French onion *soup* I'm not a massive fan of onions, and I had to dig through them to find the cheese. As for the sides, I tried a few. The onion rings are very good. The fries and asparagus were good. The mashed potatoes were standard. My fish was OK. It wasn't an especially good piece of fish, but the mango salsa went a long way toward making up for it. Decent food, reasonably priced. read more

Felicia was our server, and she was amazing!!! Lots of people hit at opening time, and her service was not only good, it was impeccable! (And this I know- have DIL who is a chef, and is not happy with the easily remedied) That being said- she probably served 10 tables at once- drinks, snacks dinners, and attention, and she did it with ease. Now, I know I am at the heart of good Mexican-American food, but I have not had food like this before. We split a few portions...the only thing that wasn't real high on the list were the fries. This little restaurant is a well-kept secret. It is truly a Tucson treasure! I went to dinner with my husband, and honestly was not expecting much. I was completely amazed! To start with, the atmosphere is unassuming and pleasant. It was clean and welcoming. The wait staff was friendly and fun. I felt like more than just a customer, I felt like his guest. Our waiter made me feel that it was his personal mission to make sure that I had a pleasant experience. I was blown away by the choices on the menu. There were standard American fare options, of course. However, the exciting thing to me, was that they offered were more gourmet options as well. I ended up choosing a chicken breast with prosciutto, served with Brussel sprouts. The meal was exquisite. The chicken breast was tender and moist, and the prosciutto was crisp. The Brussel sprouts were a delight. Trust me, any one who says they don't' like Brussel sprouts has never tried these. The prices were surprisingly reasonable too. I heartily recommend you try Royal Sun for dinner. The construction out front makes it a bit of an adventure to get in the parking lot, but it is well worth the effort. Wow! We just ate at Wild Garlic Grill last night, dropped nearly $100 for a mediocre meal and worst service ever, then came here and got a DELIGHTFUL surprise! Not only was our breakfast delicious, the service was friendly, top-notch, and timed perfectly. My traditional breakfast of eggs, choice of breakfast meats, hash browns or home fries, pancakes or toast, a fresh fruit garnish, and beverage--all extremely reasonably priced! My hubby chose Oatmeal with fresh fruit, juice, and toast. And if you stay at the adjoining Best Western Royal Sun hotel, you have a choice of these, plus many more breakfast option at no charge! First time staying here. The staff were very friendly. Loved the fact that they offer free breakfast which is made to order not buffet style. Also, the buy get one free drinks from the hotel bar is great. The bartender Felicia was amazing. She is polite, had very good customer service, friendly, and can hold a great conversation. we dined at this restaurant on 8 Sept 2014 and enjoyed it so much that although we live in Sierra Vista, we returned on 10 Sept 2014. This restaurant is definitely Tucson's best kept secret. The menu is well diversified, the staff is friendly and happy, I even heard singing from the kitchen staff. On our first visit we had rib eye steak, and on the second I had Tuna steak and my wife had the Chicken warped with prosciutto. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this experience a 9. The food is prepared and presented by chiefs in a way that befits a 4 star (****) Restaurant. If you want to do yourself a favor and treat yourself to 4 star cuisine, at a 2 star price you must dine at this restaurant, I can guarantee that if you try it once, you will return. read more

we got a groupon for this place because we had been there for breakfast a couple of years ago and it was comfortable. we live about a mile from it. we've watched it change over the years and wondered what it was like now. it's comfortable. probably run at a small loss for the hotel customers to have their free breakfast. this is a good deal and helps sell the hotel. i'm curious about restaurants. how they decide on menus. what happens to cooked meat that isn't sold etc. this strikes me as a place a talented hospitality employee has been working on, hence all the various changes we've seen over the years. probably hard to keep people running it. it's small and not real busy, the bar has always been a much busier place. so how do you get a nice restaurant into the public eye? have specials. cook a dozen difference meals, keep the quality of the food and cooking up so people come back and tell their friends. this is what they are doing. like 5 daily specials, i had chicken sandwich my wife has salmon. the chicken was nicely grilled, had a simple sauce, toasted nice tasty roll. salmon was well cooked and tasted good. mashed potatoes were smooth and a hint of garlic. so, taking no chances to alienate people, so easy to do. 1 waiter, Nate, i saw one cook. Nate was very nice, treated everyone as a friend and quickly moved from table to table. so. its a nice place to take guests, nothing bad to interfere with a pleasant time. you can hear the music next door. the staff, menu deciders and the management are trying a deserve a break if you can find yourself nearby. read more

Dinner was amazing! I eat out a lot...and am often disappointed in the food or its presentation. Tonite I was truly impressed with the Chicken Marsala for dinner. Complete with a non run of the mill salad, a glass of Chardonnay, chicken breast that was cooked perfectly & not tough, the asparagus steamed al dente along with fresh brussel sprouts sauteed w/maple syrup...the Marsala sause freshly made and the flavors perfectly balanced! In SoCal this meal would be $24-$36.00; here, it was $17. Go figure!!! The service was friendly & unobtrusive. Am certain I'll return. read more
