Friend ordered food from here via DoorDash and the food was really tasty. Had all my favorites, vegetable samosa, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. They all paired well with the rice and garlic naan. The food stayed hot and fresh in the containers for quite some time too. The curries were creamy and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of paneer, but this was very good and not at all rubbery.

Many years back, I used to go here and always loved the food; I used to get the Vegetarian Thali dinner. But the staff were always unfriendly and made me feel unwelcome. Thus, I did not go back for many years. But, now there are delivery services like DoorDash, and this is probably the best way to go for this restaurant. (For all I know, maybe times have changed, and the staff are more cordial these days; one can hope so.) My favorite dish is what they used to call Navarattan Korma, and they now call Vegetable Korma. It tasted great! The Vegetable Korma was a bit more runny than I remember from the past, but aside from that, it is just what I wanted: not spicy, a good-sized portion, and delicious. I also ordered raita and plain naan and they were very good too.

Food is just delicious! It's a hidden gem small and quiet restaurant but highly recommended! The service is great and food comes out fast.

We got so much food for literally only $60 after tax and tip. 2 rice, garlic naan (not pictured), mango lassi and gulab jamun (both also not pictured), chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo. It was SO good we were so happy we could cry tears of joy, it really satisfied my cravings for indian food. We will definitely come back this spot is so so underrated!!

Though they have a lot of BOGO offers, the quantities are very less making the deal far less attractive than what it seems. Coming to the food itself, it's pretty average, the dum biryani had tandoori style red color chicken topped with flavored rice. Not dum biryani from any angle. The mild chicken curry we ordered for take out was literal fire and burnt through my tummy. We then saw a post for unlimited Thursday night chaat and made our way there inspite of being a weekday. After getting seated we were told they decided not to have it due to lack of sufficient patrons. Needless to say we were disappointed but ending up ordering a few dishes. We got chowmein, parotta and some chaat. All the items were good and well made. They also gave us a Bangalore style peas chaat on the house, it tasted exactly like the version my grandma makes. So this was a very decent meal. Overall lot of inconsistency and mixed experiences.

The Butter Chicken (ordered two, mild) is the benchmark -- rich, creamy, perfectly balanced. The Tandoori Mixed Grill was the star: smoky, juicy, and still hot when it hit the door. It was peaceful, comfortable, and not overly crowded, which made the dining experience even more relaxing. The service was attentive, and we had a staff member taking good care of our table throughout the meal. There are plenty of vegetarian options, which was a big plus for us. We tried several dishes, like Paneer momos, aloo tikki chaat, roasted cauliflower, Biryani, kadai paneer, trio dal, cheese & artichoke kulcha, onion kulcha, pesto naan. Most of the food was flavorful and enjoyable. They also had amazing bar & drink options. We enjoyed our visit. The lovely ambience, peaceful setting, good vegetarian selection, and attentive service made it a pleasant dining experience. I've included a few photos as well to give you a better idea of the restaurant and its presentation. Overall, a nice place worth trying.

The food is flavorful and just perfect and they can make it really spicy on request . The service is excellent. It is small place though with small seating area inside and few table outside . His has been out go to restaurant for Indian food with allergy friendly options and knowledgeable staff . You need to clearly tell them about your allergies and they will ensure it is cooked separately. The plus side is that lot of their dishes have coconut as base instead of yoghurt or cream hence theses are naturally allergy friendly. Here are few dishes we love - 1. Murgh Malabar - gluten and dairy free , perfectly spiced for kids. Goes well with rice. 9/10 2. Lamb Malabar - gluten and dairy free 8/10 3. Cajun Malabar prawn - gluten free and dairy free - excellent appetizer with just the right cooking for the prawns 8/10 4. Lemongrass chicken curry - gluten free and dairy free - This has a different but interesting flavor compared to other rigamarole Indian curries . 8.5/10 5. Shrimp curry : gluten and dairy free - good choice for seafood and excellent taste with well cooked shrimp. 6 . Biryanis - The biryanis are unlike the traditional Indian biryanis . These are more like pulaos . Having said that - it is really flavorful especially when we order spicy. It is not dairy free though. For gluten options - we love the aaloo paratha and cilantro chilli kulcha. Overall it is one of our favorite restaurants for allergy friendly and flavorful Indian food in Bayarea ( with all its abundance and variety) . The good part is - they are good with DoorDash as well and we generally call the right aer placing order to ensure all precautions are taken for the order.

The seabass came with a slice of lime which I appreciated. It was flavorful and tasty. There was also a nice little cup of rice pudding with spices and cashews I think. It was a little sweet dessert included with the thali plate. There was a tasty salad with raspberry dressing. There was a generous serving of rice. Enough rice so you might be able to split one thali amongst 2 people, especially if you got an appetizer and the chai also. The food is so delicious though, I finished the whole plate except the rice. This thali plate also came with some very tasty dal. I also got the masala chai which was delicious. It comes with milk already mixed in and sugar packets so you can add as much or little sugar as you want. It came in a nice ceramic cup. The service was polite and helpful but unobtrusive. The restaurant was popular on a Friday around noon but they didn't make me feel rushed at all. The entire cost for the thali and the chai was about $40 including tip. It was worth it! I know things are more expensive these days but I had such a wonderful experience. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated with a huge beautiful artwork of I think 3 goddesses, I wasn't completely sure what the art was but it looked beautiful. There are comfortable booths inside and nice tables. I ate alone, and I had a 2 person table which was a good size for me. First, I went for a hike at St Joseph's hill which is a beautiful trail close by Namaste, then treated myself to thali and chai. It tasted so good after hiking! I think Namaste is a great spot for lunch with friends (they have the thalis on weekday lunch) or also would be a great spot for a date. I saw a couple out for lunch together, maybe on a first date? They looked like they had a nice time. Overall it was a great experience, well worth the $40. Not something I can do every day because of work, but fun for the occasional treat.

The puri chaat is a perfect starter that's savory and sweet. Get the garlic naan of course and I believe their vegetarian okra masala was amazing! Been here a few times so far and all have been stellar quality Indian food served here with excellent service. I first found this place in the old plaza by Branham by accident as there isn't really much signage around that makes it stand out other than searching for Indian on Yelp. Restaurant itself is pretty small with a few staff running it but their menu has plenty of dishes and appetizers to offer here. I've already tried their puri chaat, okra masala, goat curry, chicken biryani, and chicken tikka masala, all of which were perfectly made and delicious. The main waiter here was super friendly to make sure all was served right and he did an excellent job making sure all was accommodated during our visit. I would definitely say for Indian food in the South Bay Area, Dawaat is now one of my favorite spots to go to for excellent Indian food.
