    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Kevin Y.

We decided to try New Indian Restaurant after seeing all the great ratings, and now we completely understand why! We ordered the masala chai, mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, lamb biryani, and lamb samosas. The masala chai was honestly one of the best I've ever had, perfectly spiced, rich, and comforting. If you're a chai lover, this is a must-order. The lamb samosas were incredibly filling and packed with flavor. Crispy on the outside with a well-seasoned, hearty filling inside. The lamb biryani portion was very generous and loaded with meat, not just rice, which we really appreciated. Every bite was fragrant and satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and you can tell they put care into their food. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Absolutely recommend this spot!! We were looking for a no frills restaurant with delicious food and we were not disappointed. The dishes we ordered were delightful and fresh. The butter chicken was so creamy and had just the right amount of kick. The service was very polite and present, making sure we had everything we needed. The garlic naan was perfectly crispy without being burnt. The lamb was super tender and aromatic (on the lighter side if you are looking for that). The only downside was the parking lot was a bit small, but right next to the restaurant. It might be worth carpooling. Will definitely be coming back!

Had dinner delivered tonight. I don't eat Indian food very often because it tends to be too spicy for me, but tonight it sounded good. I ate here maybe 10 years ago and liked it, plus it's close to home. Ordered the tandoori chicken a la carte with a side of garlic naan, raita, and raw onions. It turned out to be a whole lot of chicken and enough naan for the whole meal. The chicken had a nice flavor and wasn't too spicy. The garlic naan was a little oily and spicier than expected (not sure what made it spicy), but I still enjoyed it. The raita was good, but surprisingly watery. I didn't need the side of raw onions because enough onions came with the chicken. I was disappointed they don't have kheer (rice pudding) for dessert, but overall it was a good dinner.

Almost perfect hole in the wall Indian. It almost feels like home cooking (like my Indian neighbors). Service was exceptional but maybe that's because we happened to be the only one. The waiter came back at least 2x to check on our waters. We came on a Sunday night while everyone is watching Sunday night football. Food (4 stars) + Eggplant dish is slightly sweet, almost carrot like but is still savory and was a nice contrast to the deep flavors of the spinach in the palak paneer. + Mild chicken tikka masala is perfect for the kids to dip their naan. + Dinner items are a great value. You get a generous order of rice and naan for an extra $4 per order. It truly makes it a full meal. + Good portion size and we had plenty of food to take home for at least another family meal. + Tandoori grill mix has good seekh kebabs and standard tandoori chicken. Breast meat is huge pieces good for protein hungry folks, but because they are so large they come off a little dry. The shrimp was too salty though. Service (5 stars) + Friendly staff that makes you feel like you're visiting their home + Water refilled 3x which is a must when you request Indian spicy level! Ambiance (2 stars) - Bathrooms are outside and not clean - Not too many tables, but that can he homely for some I live about 20 minutes away so it's hard to be a regular here. I would come back because I find this establishment provides good value when I am in the mood for Indian.

Comfortable, warm dining space offering delicious Indian cuisine. I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala dinner, which comes with curry, rice, and naan. It is a very satisfying meal - will return to try more of their menu in the future!

I've never had Indian food but this was really good I tried the chicken tikka masala & it's really good.

We brought my Partner here for his birthday this past Sunday. The outside seating was a little snug for us (group of five) but we made it work. It has a lovely shaded area, so it was nice and out of the sun. The service was top notch, super friendly and quick, and I am sure I don't know how he managed it but he always found a spot to put our stuff on the table. The Food though... OMG We ordered a fairly wide variety of stuff, some veggie dishes a few meat things, Everyone was very happy. I had the tandoori murgh dinner and the spices were perfect, everyone was really impressed with their food. For drinks we all had either Mango Lassi or Mango Juice, and we were really happy about those as well. We found this place on a yelp search for Indian Food with outdoor seating, and we were not disappointed at all. The place does look very "hole in the wall" from outside, as other reviews have mentioned, BUT remember: That is where the best food is, ALWAYS and without exception. Do yourself a solid and go try it.

Second time here and the food is still great:). The people are nice and friendly. They will explain the menu items patiently if asked and they really do care what you think as today I found the flavor a bit lighter and realized it was because I ordered mild today instead of medium (suggest medium unless you really can't handle or don't want spice). The dining room is nice and clean and quiet. Loved the overall experience and will continue to comeback!

    Shrimp Biriani, Palak Paneer

In my experience, i do love Indian food. My friend and I ordered shrimp biryani and paneer palak and it was flavorful and filling. The service was very friendly. The ambiance is like a hole in the wall and you know how hole in the walls are.... Mostly delicious!! Also we had two mango lassi's because it's tasty!! I'd come back again to try new dishes!

Delicious food and Excellent service. A little family-owned restaurant I would recommend to anyone

Really good! I almost missed the shack-ey little place driving by. But tasty Indian food awaits within the unassuming exterior. I had a BIG portion of mixed veggie curry, and it comes with both palau rice AND stack of naan (on the crispy side; I prefer chewy, but I'm not quibbling). You could split it between two people and call it dinner-for-two, or take a portion home for lunch tomorrow. But you know me -- I pigged-out and ate the whole thing, haha. The mango lassi was nice too. Also nice smooth Indian music in the background. And attentive kind service. Recommended. Glad I came here.

    Do they serve Buffet?

Unfortunately as of July 28th 2021, they have not brought it back.

Can they host and cater to a small get together of 25-30 in a party room on their premises?

    They don't have a party room - it's a fairly small restaurant.

What's considered too large of a group to accommodate? Will a group of 4 be difficult?

Not at all! I went with 3 other family members and they seated us just fine.

    Do they do take out?

    Yes

Do you guys serve butter chicken?

They do have butter chicken, it's really good but a bit spicy.

Do they have the buffet on Saturday and Sunday too? And if so, is it only for a specific time?

Tuesday thru Thursday during lunch only.

But the sambusa has a better structure, holding its shape after multiple bites. the Dough is softer but still crispy. it came with beef , chilies and other vegetables. so so good. the perfect appetizer for us. it came with a spicy green sauce that seemed to be the common sauce for every dish then the stars of the show. The sizzling hot beef plate served with veggies, rice and a salad was unbelievable. add on a lemon and some more greens sauce and you're in for a treat. the rice alone was so flavorful and it tasted like there was meat drippings on top. the beef was so tender and fell apart in 1 bite. I was blown away with the dish the chicken wrap... man. I'm not sure what kind of bread, pita was used but it was fantastic. a huge wrap with lettuce, onion chicken, sauce and other veggies. It was so messy and hard to eat with your hands so we resorted to eating with a fork and knife. Unreal. Unreal. massive portions again which are a theme here. But holy smokes this was so good. The chicken has a nice char, but is also juicy and saucy. the spongy pita neutralizes the bombardment of flavor from the meat, and the veggies compliment everything with some crunch and texture. Service was great and very helpful. They were extremely friendly and a delight to talk with. We will be back 5/5

One of the few Indian restaurants that doesn't taste like they have three main sauces they pull from with no effort to make flavors differentiate or pop. The dishes here taste like the chef's actually care about the food. Service is polite and simple. Very low maintenance. Not a restaurant if you like to be picky. Come to enjoy it as it is. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that, because they do a lot of take out, they have a lot of drinks and other items prepared to just grab and go for you. This doesn't work if your order anything other than water to drink at the table. They offer really interesting and refreshing tea/lemonades, yet when they bring the drink it comes prepared to go in plastic cup, sealed, with boba style fat straw (as opposed to the very elegant picture on their menu). It stood out as massively tacky and ugly, especially because of how thoughtful the design choices are for the table scape and the rest of the dining experience. Strange place to cut a corner. Even opening the to go cup at the counter, pouring it into one of the lovely water glasses (which is what I did, lol) would be easy and streamline the beautiful experience.

For a Saturday morning, the energy was calm -- a good sign for a small spot that could easily get overwhelmed. The waitress set the tone early. Warm, unhurried, she asked how we had heard about the place before taking the order -- the kind of question a restaurant only asks when it is still building its crowd and actually wants to know the answer. Filter coffee arrived without delay, hot, no shortcuts. The upma and mini tiffin combo followed. Portions were generous and the food arrived warm. But dish after dish played it safe right up to the edge of forgettable. The upma had correct texture with none of the assertiveness that makes a good upma worth finishing slowly. The sambar leaned thin. The chutneys were there, present and accounted for, doing the minimum. Everything assembled correctly, nothing bold enough to make you look up from the table. Meenakshi Bhavan gets enough right on a weekend morning to be worth knowing about -- clean space, genuinely warm service, honest portions. The waitress clearly takes pride in the hospitality side of things. The kitchen needs to match that energy with a firmer hand on the seasoning. Good enough for a familiar weekend breakfast. Not yet good enough to become a habit. The paintings on the walls that were Indian and Tamilnadu related was great, but the other art work seemed out of place, not sure what the thought process there was with the management. Things where this could improve: Coffee taste can improve (may be sourcing from a different coffee vendor may help, seemed like a standard Narassu's powder from a grocery shop near by that probably was at least a few months old) Chutneys need a certain kick and that was definitely missing. Cleanliness can be improved for sure.
