It's a decent store to grab Indian products but the so called fresh food buffet is horrible. We once got malai kofta and it was sooooo bad that had to trash it . It tased like packed food with preservatives. It had stale oil taste and smell to it . The koftas were made from bread and it was overall not appetizing at all ! By far the worst Indian food I have ever tried not just in the Bayarea but ever in the US ! Now after this terrible food experience there I am rethinking about buying products and fresh produce from this store . Food buffet: 0/5

We got puffs and samosa. They were stale, the stuffing inside was burnt and there was a bad smell. It's supposed to be fresh food technically cooked everyday. Definitely didn't taste like it, Also, most of the food in the frozen section was expired.

This is a new, clean, and well-stocked Indian grocery store. They have a food stall as well that serves Indian food. The food was pretty good. Service was a little curt but rounding up to 4 stars.

Amazing place with courteous staff and delicious food. Vegetables were very fresh and they were well stocked. This is huge indian grocery store. They also have free games for kids which is amazing . Excited to try fresh sugar cane juice and shaved ice desi flavors!!

Wide variety of indian grocery is available here.

Food is pretty good too - cheap and pretty comparable to good restaurant. Food is much better that what you get at other grocery stores

    Fungus pav bun

Horrible, dirty store. STAY AWAY! Pav bun that expires 2 months from now had a lot of fungus on it when opened. Bun is from Frontier Bakery. When we called the store, instead of apologizing or offering store credit or refund, they were rude and kept saying it's not their fault. They asked me to bring the packet as is with the fungus bun, they will register a complaint with the vendor, oh and also bring a receipt from when I bought 5 days back. When I asked him to check digitally since I paid by card he refused. They need to learn what good customer service is, stock unexpired non spoilt products. Was curious to try this new store - NEVER AGAIN. See reviews below about rats in store - terrible don't go here! UPDATED replying to owner's response The pav bun was NOT expired I have clearly posted the date in one of the pictures too. Hence all the more reason for surprise as the bun had fungus whereas expiry date was 2 months from now. It is called good customer service where you TRUST your customers. Why would you need a physical receipt? why would anyone lie about a $5 bread - you can even easily digitally look up the transaction I was willing to provide you my card number etc. You quoted Costco on the phone with me. Anyone who shops at Costco respects and shops there for their easy lifetime returns. You can't come close to that with this kind of an attitude. Someone else posted below about having multiple Indian store options in the area - no need to shop here. All in all a terrible experience.

We definitely will be back to check out other things, though my partner loved the baingan bharta, so I'm guessing that will be a repeat. It had a really complex flavor with some sweetness to it.

The chaat and dahi vada were the highlights of the meal--both were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I also tried the samosa with chole The chole tasted fresh and comforting, with a mild spice level that I really enjoyed. However, I wasn't a fan of the samosa's outer layer, as it seemed a bit overcooked and slightly burnt. That said, the filling was tasty and paired well with a cup of chai. For the entrée, I ordered their vegetarian meal and requested a customization with paneer which they happily accommodated for an additional charge. The meal turned out to be satisfying and delicious. My friend ordered the Chicken Seekh Kebab Wrapand mentioned that it was very good as well. The mango lassi was super fresh and refreshing. Another nice touch was the self-service station offering sweet chutney, green chutney, and pickle, which added extra flavor and earned bonus points from me. *Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more Always wanted to try this cafe and finally went in there today. It was at a walkable distance from my daughter's gymnastics camp. It was around 2PM, and we wanted some quick snack bites. This felt like a perfect place. Super cute cafe kind of ambiance. It has books, games etc to chill and my daughter & I had fun exploring it together. The menu didn't feel super huge, which is good because it makes me feel the items must be really good. I ended up ordering the paneer sandwich for myself and the veg panini for my 5 year old. 1) The paneer sandwich was my fav - it had a subtle hint of sweetness. The flavors really talked to me. The paneer portion was generous in my sandwich, a good protein-packed sandwich. 2) My daughter attacked the Veg panini and finished it in just a few mins. She told me it was super tasty, and didn't even let me try it. All sandwiches comes with fries - they were super yummy too, however, they were a tad bit salty and it would have been the best if they would tone down the salt a bit. Overall, I would rate the food at 5/5. My spouse joined us a little later, and I ordered the paneer sandwich one more time for him to eat. He also agreed that it was a 5 on 5. He loved the place too and told me he will definitely try the chai there next time he drops our kid to the gymnastics class. Service was surprisingly a little slow. They took 15 mins to get us the sandwiches, which in my opinion was a bit long considering it was just us in the cafe at that time. However, I had a feeling that they probably made it fresh, so it might take longer due to that. Took off 1 star for slow service. Definitely coming back again to try out more options from the menu!

But the sambusa has a better structure, holding its shape after multiple bites. the Dough is softer but still crispy. it came with beef , chilies and other vegetables. so so good. the perfect appetizer for us. it came with a spicy green sauce that seemed to be the common sauce for every dish then the stars of the show. The sizzling hot beef plate served with veggies, rice and a salad was unbelievable. add on a lemon and some more greens sauce and you're in for a treat. the rice alone was so flavorful and it tasted like there was meat drippings on top. the beef was so tender and fell apart in 1 bite. I was blown away with the dish the chicken wrap... man. I'm not sure what kind of bread, pita was used but it was fantastic. a huge wrap with lettuce, onion chicken, sauce and other veggies. It was so messy and hard to eat with your hands so we resorted to eating with a fork and knife. Unreal. Unreal. massive portions again which are a theme here. But holy smokes this was so good. The chicken has a nice char, but is also juicy and saucy. the spongy pita neutralizes the bombardment of flavor from the meat, and the veggies compliment everything with some crunch and texture. Service was great and very helpful. They were extremely friendly and a delight to talk with. We will be back 5/5

One of the few Indian restaurants that doesn't taste like they have three main sauces they pull from with no effort to make flavors differentiate or pop. The dishes here taste like the chef's actually care about the food. Service is polite and simple. Very low maintenance. Not a restaurant if you like to be picky. Come to enjoy it as it is. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that, because they do a lot of take out, they have a lot of drinks and other items prepared to just grab and go for you. This doesn't work if your order anything other than water to drink at the table. They offer really interesting and refreshing tea/lemonades, yet when they bring the drink it comes prepared to go in plastic cup, sealed, with boba style fat straw (as opposed to the very elegant picture on their menu). It stood out as massively tacky and ugly, especially because of how thoughtful the design choices are for the table scape and the rest of the dining experience. Strange place to cut a corner. Even opening the to go cup at the counter, pouring it into one of the lovely water glasses (which is what I did, lol) would be easy and streamline the beautiful experience.

I stopped because I felt that…read moredining experiences are personal, and everyone should have the opportunity to form their own opinion. Yesterday, however, I changed my mind after having one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had at Saapaaduu. I've tried to dine here a couple of times over the past few years, but it was always crowded, so we ended up leaving. Since we were in the area yesterday, we decided to give it another try. We arrived around 8:00 PM with our family, including kids, and waited about an hour for a table. Even though I added my phone number to the waitlist, I never received any updates, and it didn't seem like people were being called in the order they were added. By the time we were seated, it was already 9:00 PM. We ordered a few dishes. The appetizers--Chicken 65, Chicken Lollipop, and Pallipalayam Chicken--arrived one by one. About 30 minutes later, our server informed us that they were out of Seeraga Samba Chicken Biryani and only had Vijayawada Chicken Biryani available. Since it was already late and we had no real alternative, we agreed. It then took another 20 minutes for the biryani to arrive. Unfortunately, the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani was nothing like a biryani. It was simply dry basmati rice with chicken gravy sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The rice was dry, and the dish lacked the flavor and texture you'd expect from a biryani. I took one spoonful and left the rest--I didn't even want to take it home. The Pallipalayam Chicken tasted nothing but same chicken curry in Vijayawada biryani with coconut chunks and didn't have the authentic flavor I was expecting. Overall, nothing stood out. The food was mediocre at best and did not justify the long wait. The restaurant itself is quite small. The person at the front desk mentioned that it accommodates around 40 guests at a time, which seems about right for the 8-10 tables inside. Given the limited seating and the consistently long wait times, I strongly feel they should implement an online reservation or waitlist system. Families with young children shouldn't have to stand outside for an hour without updates. It almost feels like the long line has become part of the restaurant's image rather than something they're trying to improve. I genuinely wanted to like this place after hearing so much about it over the years, but unfortunately, the overall experience--from the wait, to the service, to the food--was disappointing. I apologize for leaving a negative review, as that's not something I usually do. However, I believe sharing an honest experience is fair to both the restaurant and future customers. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and improves the overall dining experience.
