Have always loved the sandwiches, sweets, and bagels from Royalicious and decided to try the catering for a family event. The Italian Sub platter and potato salad were fantastic. Only place to get an above average bagel in the area. Bagel sandwiches are huge and expensive. They may be better off making them a little cheaper with less than half a pound of meat In them. The cookies and baked goods all good decent. Most of them aren't my speed but I can see How many would love them. It generally runs efficient and the people are nice. The location is so so in the strip mall with tons of smokers and randoms always as passerby's. read more

Everything is reasonably priced and lower than typical prices in the DC metro region. Half a star deducted for very limited seating. I was driving, needing some coffee, and this was the best looking place on route. So, I bought a cookie and a coffee. Both were ok - average. But, based on the reviews that I had read, sadly underwhelming. For someone who travels and eats out often, this is just your average, strip-mall style cafe / bakery. But, I was just chilling at one of the tables near the counter (it's a small place), they decided to start cleaning. Ugh - the harsh chemical smell in the air combined with dirt and dust kicked up from the broom was not pleasant. Please, next time, save your cleaning for when you store is empty and the cookies are still baking. read more

In the heart of Charles Town, we found a perfect bagel place. Now we're talking! The bagel, the lox, the nova, the cream cheese, the makers...they rock! From the makers of bagels in NY, here's the story of...bagel! I liked everything! I'm not talking about everything-bagel but everything everything! We had Nova and bagel and then we bought an extra bialy. You can make another sandwich from the first bagel you had because the amount of nova and cream cheese are really good for 2 eaters. An extra bagel would do for 2. Of course they're delicious, look at the name! We're the King and Queen of bagel eater (especially Hubby). Definitely would come back when we stay in Charles Town again. They also carry pastrami and some other sandwiches that are great for lunch. Since it's the holiday season, they offer customized cookies and holiday pastries for everyone (I saw the flyers). We bought a basket of cookies hooray! The bagels are great. The cream cheese is spread thick. If you order your bagel toasted it's hit or miss. The price for a bagel with cream cheese is fair. The coffee is decent. The cookies all taste (tasteless). exactly the same. Only the shape & decorations change. The freakin cannoli and pasties are just disappointing. The sandwiches are all excellent! Especially The Italian. The service is always very good. The bagel chicks are always polite. I'm not sure if they are smiling cause they are all wearing mask, and they ask customers to do the same. When you walk into Royalicious you can feel the energy of the staff working behind the counter and the excitement of the customers, trying to narrow down what they want from the variety of options available. It was as if all the pastries I've seen on Bake Off were there before my eyes and I just had to decide on which one. One? or two... or even three! We discovered Royalicious on a short 4 day visit from Florida. The bagels are thick! They were toasted to perfection and covered in a substantial amount of cream cheese. Coffee was so smooth, it didn't need any creamer or sugar. The 2nd day I had an egg white bagel sandwich, which I highly recommend. Of course, we had to try those pastries: an almond horn, blueberry danish and something that was flakey in a cone shape and had powdered sugar. I don't remember the name but I remember the flavor. The chocolate nut biscotti was cut thin and perfect for a quick dunk in my coffee. We sat at the nice tables outside and enjoyed our breakfast. Unfortunately, we only got to go back 1 more time, for a cinnamon roll, one last bagel and of course a cup of coffee for the road. If you are anywhere close to Charles Town, WV, make sure you stop at Royalicious, they have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Heck, drive an hour, it will be worth it! read more

Real good alternative to Panera. A friend of mine recommended this place as we needed a snack for the road. I'm a bagel lover, so this place has it all for bagels. They have a pretty good selection of cream cheeses, and don't get me started on the cannolis and cookies. There's a reason why there's always a line, and their customer service is the best in the area. They let me have a couple samples of their treats when I was indecisive between a couple of choices. Definitely come here for all your deli needs. And the occasional NY kind of culture. :) Side note: Bring cash. I don't know if they accept credit cards, but they did have a sign recommending to pay in cash due to credit cards' surcharges. read more

OK, just have to say...LOVE THIS PLACE. My wife and I just found this place this morning. It was SOOOO GOOD, we had to return in the afternoon to get Hoagies for the NFL Playoffs. First, for breakfast, we selected the Everything Bagel w/cream cheese. Simply one word to describe it. EXCELLENT. The coffee was good as well, it's not Starbucks, but it was still good for a bakery/sandwhich shop. Upon our return in the afternoon, we picked up the Potato Salad (folks, my wife is from Philly and is used to TRUE PA Dutch Potato Salad, and she honestly says this is the best she has EVER had). I ordered the BlackJack, and the Italian. Not only is the meat BOARS HEAD (best meat on the market today), but they slice the meat incredibly thin, which makes the sandwich so much better than all the other shops that simply cut too thick or do not take the time to ensure THINLY sliced meats. The Italian was the best Italian Hoagie I have had since leaving Philadelphia. Now, if you have read my reviews, you always know one of the most important issues for me with restaurants is service. Here, the service is OUTSTANDING. Jackie is so nice, the great you as soon as you enter, and they do everything they can to make you happy. Folks, this is a locally owned business, so by supporting, you are supporting local, and trust me you will not be disappointed with spending your money here. We were in town to stay with family and were so excited and surprised to find this bakery. The sandwiches were great. The pastries were so good we went back 2 times while we were in town for the week. My son fell out of a chair while we were there and the friendly staff gave him a cookie to cheer him up! My husband loved the red velvet cake and chocolate eclair. I had and awesome chocolate cigar and on the last day we stopped by I had a chocolate cheese puff pastry that was hot and fresh from the oven. My kids loved the fun cookies and bagels. They even liked the freshly made olive cream cheese. The staff are great and truly care about your business. We are sad there's nothing like this where we live in TN, but also glad because we would eat there way too much. We look forward to returning the next time we are up I visit family. read more
