Oh my oh my oh my! I had to come back here after stopping by last Saturday on a whim. I do not typically come to Charles Town but I'm in town for the farmers market every weekend. Last weekend we got bagel sandwiches, pastries, donuts all unfreaking believably good. Today I got a sub which is huge and awesome. Came here the other night and for some reason I couldn't find the sandwich I wanted which my dad usually orders (I found out later from my dad that it was a chicken salad sandwich on marble rye that I was wanting) so I got 'The Craps' sandwich (that either sounds like I'm about to hit up the casino next door or take a dump...can't decide, lol)... while big in size it was mostly full of coleslaw... not to mention the short black hair inside my to-go box, eww (it wasn't mine as I'm a blonde! heh). Some how I felt as though I should like this place more but it kind of fell flat for me. The pastries they have aren't all that appealing to myself since they're a bit old-fashioned (some how when my dad goes he spend $8 on an Italian sub and ends up with 2 huge apple turnovers and one other big pastry...am I disliked here??), I did get a complimentary small piece of rainbow cake which apparently is a lil somethin'-somethin' on the house for customers (maybe cuz other people aren't that interested in there sweets either?? heh). Also they apparently ran out of soda or something in there machine (or broke) so I settled for an unsweet tea which was filled with 3/4 ice. I went to this place for lunch three times, and the novelty of it quickly wore off. First off, it's a gourmet sandwich joint in Charles Town. There aren't many of them around, so they kind of have the market cornered and that makes them busy. Secondly, they only have two tables, so when you go, assume you won't be dining in. Finally, my biggest turn off was the employees. They were helpful and quick, but not very polite. I almost felt like I was visiting the Soup Nazi from that one Seinfeld episode. read more

Super friendly staff, quality deli meats (boar's head brand), and sweet treats. I got the Cuban which was the special and hubs ordered an Italian hero. Both were really good. We also got a side of the redskin potato salad which was very tasty and the potatoes were COOKED. So many times I've been let down by undercooked potatoes in store/restaurant potato salad. Not here. On the sweet side, we sampled a chocolate cigar (excellent), a little raspberry filled shortbread cookie with chocolate/sprinkles (good), and hubs ended up with a chocolate cheese puff pastry. He liked it but probably liked the chocolate cigar the best. Next trip I'm going to try the super slingo and a cinnamon stick. I'm also interested in the bagels and house made cream cheeses. One of my most favorite bagels & bakery store! I found it, went in there, and came out with a dozen of yummy NY bagels, Nova Lox, and some puff pastries! I just love NY bagels and couldn't find any since we moved to the area 8 years ago. They have been in the business for a while but I hadn't noticed it though I go to Walmart every week, not until I searched on google!!!! They have great selections, and are reasonable price. The staffs are very friendly and have good service minded. For food, I mainly tried their bagels, Lox, and some pastries. They all are yummy! French toast bagels and Cheddar bagels are my most favorite. My husband loves Asiago bagels and Plain&Pumpernickel bagels! Nova Lox is extremely delicious and well priced. I got Elephant Ear for my kids and it's a big hit. They said it tastes exactly like the one they had in Disney World. I'm glad because I don't have to bake elephant ear anymore. I haven't tried their sandwich. I also got their flyers and will definitely stop by on some weekend. Their weekend flyer looks so good- with some extra bread & baked goods. They have had the best sandwiches, bagels, cookies and pastries where ever their business was. people will drive more then an hour to get some of their special holiday bake goods. Best deli sandwiches this side of Manhattan! They use Boar's Head brand deli meats, which is the best there is, hands down Although a bit pricey, you certainly get what you pay for! The Italian is the real deal. Meats stacked to da' moon! I've tried just about everything on the menu... ALL fantastic! The sandwiches and sub's/hoageys are all big enough to feed two big eaters. A quick lunch stop at Royalicious today. We had the traditional rueben and the pastrami with cole slaw and Russian dressing. First, the meat. A pile of first-rate corned beef on one and pastrami on the other. Reminiscent of the best NY delis! Then, the grilled marble rye. Thick slices and absolutely delicious. We will be back, as a few of the other signature sandwiches looked as good as what we ate today. They also have a cold case with all sorts of salads and speeds for the fresh bagels they bake. Charlestown is lucky to have this place, and just a few steps from one of the best Pizza Margarheti we've ever eaten at Brothers! read more

Great deli and bakery! My wife's co-worker to her about this place and we decided to give it a try. It was well worth traveling 33 miles from Winchester VA to try the sandwich and take home some sweets. There chocolate cigar are awesome! Wish we had them in our town. Very much like a NY bakery & bagel shop in one. Lots of homemade goodies, not all that frozen/powder mix-and-bake stuff. Only tried the bagels. Better than most places in NY, which we bring back a dozen every time we visit. $10 for a dozen (or maybe more, I didn't count). Single bagel toasted with butter is a bit pricy at $1.80. Sandwiches looked incredible, there were so many people getting lunch that some were sitting outside on a 40 degree day. That says something. Just a few simple tables inside. read more

Um, whoa. Based on all the positive reviews, I stopped into this little shop near the Wal-Mart in Harper's Ferry when I was leaving town. I will make a point to stop here whenever I travel through the eastern panhandle. 1 - breakfast sandwiches all day 2 - coke products 3 - excellent customer service 4 - the garlic bagel is like, encrusted with garlic. And they're real bagels, not grocery store crap. 5 - COOKIES. Holy crap, my staff was lucky I shared. They were falling all over themselves about how great they were. Delicious Italian butter cookies with chocolate, sprinkles, raspberry jelly and combinations thereof. I didn't have one, but they fill the cannolis when you order them. Now that's legit. Go here. This has been my "goto" place for breakfast to go. The nova lox, our favorite, had tons of toppings including a very health portion of lox. Not today. They skimped on the lox. Shamefully so. It appeared that they had replaced much of the lox with cream cheese. So, it's not my "goto" place anymore. Sad. read more

I don't even know where to start... This place is AMAZING. Every single aspect of it. They just get it. Their food, pastries, and above all, their fantastic customer service goes above and beyond any deli I have come across before. We live close by and eat here way more than we should. Good place to grab home made bakery goods. While I was there I grab a breakfast panini which was enough for two people.

I wish I had known about this place sooner! This has got to be the best Italian bakery/NY deli within 100 miles. The Italian cookies are just as I remember them as a child in NY. The pastries are humongous and they bake specialty breads on the weekends. I was amazed at the variety of offerings and the quality - everything looked delicious. To top it off, the owners and staff were super friendly and genuinely eager to please. I came for the cookies and cannolis today, but am sure to return for bagels, sandwiches and Italian bread. I noticed a sign that said they have delivery service for lunch, too.(Mon-Fri) _____________________________________________________________ Went back on Sunday to pick up a loaf of freshly baked Italian bread. Well this place was worth the visit. Wish we had time for lunch as the sandwiches looked awesome. A string of people kept coming in and it was busy. Just went here for the first time today after finding it on yelp. I'm originally from NY and deli's are one of the biggest things I miss. This place definitely hit the mark! So good!
