I stopped by because I was in the area, & I've always heard how good their tea is from other people. The staff is super friendly + made my tea exceptionally quick! The little shop is aesthetic for sure. I also like how large the portions were for a regular drink. The reason for my rating is that I've been to many boba shops and even worked at one, and I found that the tapioca tasted really bland. It was kinda just boiled tapioca without any brown sugar syrup. Milk tea was good- just not the boba for me. Their Fruit tea was also alright. Prettier than it tasted I feel. I also didn't realize that the milk tea wasn't dairy-free like many shops I've been to who use dairy-free creamers or almond milk. I saw them use whole milk, and I should have asked if they offer milk alternatives or not because I'm severely lactose intolerant and get bad stomach aches. So they may or may not have alternatives-- I didn't get the chance to ask since I just assumed their recipe was dairy free creamer. The 25 minutes wait will be not acceptable for a drink place. The reason of efficacy need to be improve is first the assembly line. Each one need to assign a task clearly what they are doing. The order person should not doing the drink. The the ingredients person should cup the cap and push out the order. The mixed person should concentrate on finishing the mixed not involved cap and announce the recipient. A side from service, the drink is good. Not in great categories. Royaltea is very good, and what I liked the most is the different flavors and the Mousse Foam. It's almost a cream cheese mousse at the top - and I thought it added variety and more of a savory flavor to the drink. I ordered the peach oolong which was very light with the cheese mousse foam with boba. I didn't care much for the boba - it didn't have much sweetness to it and wasn't as soft as I usually like it. I ordered the Matcha Milk Tea with Mousse Foam and I thought this drink was much better, and got it sans boba this time. I like how the offerings are a bit different than your typical boba place. Very tasty tea spot in the Mills 50 area. Royaltea is quite a popular chain overseas and in large metro US cities. The milk tea, a standard gauge of measurement for me, was tastefully done. The drink had a strong tea flavor and was brewed from fresh tea leaves. I had asked for no sugar in my milk tea and it was made perfectly to my request. Toppings are relatively cheaper than the Bay Area, which is such a nice change (no pun intended). Their boba is chewy and not sweet, good texture. They also have herbal jelly (grass jelly), which is a go to of mine. They also have mousse, which is almost like a salted cheese, but a little lighter. The matcha latte was good, but I little too sweet for my tasting and could be stronger on the matcha. It's great they give you options of whole milk or almond milk! I was disappointed with the matcha from another place "similar to Royal Tea" in Davie, FL, but wow, incomparable. Great matcha! Strong, robust, with some sweetness from the crema. LOVED IT. My boyfriend ordered which I believe is the coffee crema and I liked it also! Was able to get a topping for free thanks to Yelp, so I used mine and in the next visit we used his. So second time around, I got the Rose Puer and he got the Oreo. STILL BOTH GOOD. If I had the time, the stomach capacity, and the funds, I would try every flavor right then and there! Awesome additional Tea Spot that I need when I am in the area. I have been here a couple of times and really enjoy the concept and layout of the place. My go to drink is the Lychee Cheese mouse tea and the Fresh fruit tea. Very delicious and not overly sweet. Great minimal selection of teas and not to overwhelming when you are reading the menu. I have yet to try their desserts but have heard a few good things about it. I will defiantly have to try it next time! We have collectively tried the mousse milk tea, the royal fruits tea, the matcha latte, the rose pu'er, the peach oolong with cheese mousse, and the royal bubble tea. I personally haven't tried any drinks with the cheese mousse because I don't like cheese (except for mozzarella, I know, I know, I'm weird but stop judging me) but everyone I take here that tried the mousse milk tea emphatically says they love it. They don't just like it, they love it. The cheese mousse is apparently made from cream cheese and it gives a nice salty contrast to the rest of the sweet liquid in your drink. If you want a refreshing drink then you need to get the royal fruits tea. It tastes as good as it looks. It comes with sliced fruit and chia seeds. The chia seeds add a nice touch because you chew them as you sip the tea. The boba here are not over cooked nor are they undercooked. They are perfectly good boba. Make sure you don't park in the wrong place or you will be towed. Street parking is safe. This place gets packed so also be aware it might not be the most relaxing or easiest place to hang out for long. I wish they had a drive thru! read more

I believe the hype because they know how to satisfy the palate with just the right amount of sweetness and balance of the drinks we ordered. Walking in, it was pretty packed for a tight and narrow space. ROYALTEA came prepared on a Sunday night because there was plenty of staff (~8) working behind the counter to bring out drinks at a timely manner. The atmosphere is modern and earthy. They use wooden planks with embossed writing to showcase their menu, which is unique and creative compared to changeable TV screens or paper menus at other shops. Ordering was fast and easy because of their short menu. We got Fruit Tea, Cheese Mousse Rose Pu'er, Strawberry Milk Tea and Mousse Coffee. Everything is about $5 each. Fruit Tea was gorgeous with thin sliced assorted citrus and basil seeds, and green tea base. It was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. Cheese Mousse Rose Pu'er had a pretty layered presentation. Label suggested to drink it at 45* to try all layers before mixing it. It was creamy and had a satisfying rose flavor, and the boba was chewy and delicious. Mousse Coffee has a salty and sweet after taste that reminded me of Sea Salt cream. It was really good as well. Just be careful when you swing your door open because Mills is a highly trafficked road. This place is small but they do a great job with what they've got. If you go after 5pm, you'll probably run into a long line of people looking to get a drink here. The Royaltea Cheese Mousse is amazing. Don't let the cheesy drink intimidate you. The drink is comprised of tea but has a thick top layer of a silky whipped cream like texture. This drink will fill you up. It's a rich dessert in a drink. It may not be for everyone but it's essentially a smooth and creamy milkshake/tea concoction and is totally worth trying once. If you're not feeling brave enough to try it, you can't go wrong with the mango yogurt or strawberry yogurt tea drinks, or even the Royal Milk Tea or Royal Bubble Tea. All are amazing. They all contain caffeine so don't drink these too late in the evening if you want to be able to fall asleep. Another major bonus is that Royaltea is right next door to King Bao. Worth the wait! Almost every time you drive by this place, you'll see a line out the door for ROYALTEA but there's good reason for it. This cafe is not just your average sweetened boba tea joint. Their taste is unique and the quality of the tea is high quality. The inside is quite small hence the long lines and it has minimal decor but it's clean and homey. I also love their cups, they are made of a hard plastic and doesn't just soften when you squeeze it. The little heart covering on top is an added bonus. They also use buzzers to let you know when you're order is ready in case you wanted to grab a bite to eat next door. The menu has so many options from drinks to desserts. I tried the ROYALTEA Fruits Tea which was beautifully made with fresh slices of orange, lime, lemon, kiwi, apple and grapefruit inside. It's semi-sweet and has a rich tea flavor with delicate notes of the different fruit. I also got a Rose Pu'er with Cheese Mousse Topping. It was my first time trying cheese mousse and I LOVED IT. I have to say, for a boba cafe, I was not satisfied with the boba. The tea, however, was fairly decent. My second time, I ordered the Royal Fruit Tea with boba, which was perfect for those who do not like a super sweet tea. I got the boba again to try it, but was very unsatisfied again. The only reason I am taking away a star is because of the inconvenient parking in the area, and the unsatisfactory boba. As for the parking, there is only street parking available near the cafe, with only 3-4 spots available, and there is no parking in the back of the cafe for customers, which is inconvenient since the cafe is so popular. I asked for herbal jelly and either the workers are trying to save on the toppings so they don't have to make more, or the management/owner is super cheap.
