Had an amazing pub food experience. The pizza bread and marinara was fan-freaking-tastic. Cooked absolutely perfectly, garlic forward and perfect amount of cheese. Also had wings. I am not sure what has happened with this place since my last review but it seemed like the service really went downhill today. We came in around 2 o clock and the waitress standing at the bar appeared to be having a conversation with two of her regulars about another girl who worked there who she was having problems with. Her eyes wandered over to me and my boyfriend but she didn't acknowledge us let alone grab any menus until her conversation was done. Once we sat down and got our menu's I quickly decided on the wings as it is one of their more acclaimed menu items and with excellent reason as they are reasonably priced.incredibly flavorful,and very meaty. I had been hoping to order 6 teriyaki and 6 sweet and spicy chili but was informed they can only be ordered in orders of at least 10 per flavor. I take no issue with restaurant policies and am more then happy to conform to whatever the norm is without asking for special substitutions or exceptions but the big problem in this case is that NOWHERE on that menu does it state they must be ordered in units of 10. In my opinion you just set your staff up for unnecessary hassle when you make up policies that are not clearly displayed in your menu. After getting our food we didn't see much of the waitress after that. She did come when my boyfriend had finished and I was a few bites from done and begrudgingly offered drink refills. I asked about the dessert menu and she just seemed to get annoyed and proceeded to list off what she could remember from the menu versus actually going and getting the menu again so we could see for ourselves what was on it. We went with the cinnamon sticks which was deep fried churros and ice cream in a tortilla bowl....that's right you read that correctly...our dessert came in a tortilla bowl. Not only that but the tortilla bowl was very stale and the churro's were overdone and tasted like they had absorbed some of the staleness and bad flavor from the tortilla bowl. It was really odd to receive such a bad dessert since our lunches were both absolutely delicious. The cherry on top of this dining experience had to be watching this girl over serve one of her customers at the bar. The older lady looked ill,had problems forming sentences,and was getting loud towards the end of the meal but apparently all of that did not justify cutting her off and she was still able to sit there and drink. Honestly I can write off one bad dessert as I know sometimes cooks get busy and without proper help can be tempted to cut corners or make honest mistakes but this waitress was atrocious. I will not write Richards off entirely without one more visit but if we were to come in again and see the same waitress standing there we would turn right around and walk back out the door. There is nothing more unprofessional then back talking your co workers to your patrons and over serving intoxicated patrons at the bar. read more

I was travelling from Cold Lake to West Edmonton and normally wouldn't stop until I got to the west end. Well we saw a message on Facebook and decided to stop for the specials. Nice neighbourhood pub in north Edmonton. Good size with 7 large tv screens. Eclectic setup with the seating, booths intermixed with counters and couches. Has 2 bar counters. Two pool tables. Mixed age crowd more blue collar casual. Good stage lighting. Pizza is very good. Happy hour prices quite reasonable. Music jam on Saturday and happy hour until 8pm. They have wifi too. I'm surprised how big it is for a neighbourhood pub. Two thumbs up. They seem to have a lot of music. read more

I went here a few times with some friends as we were told the food was good. The food was fairly good. The service was alright (nothing noteworthy, just what was expected from a pub in the late afternoon). So why only one star rather than 3 or 4? The last time I was at Richard's (April 2016) there were several late-middle-aged men and women at the pub reeking of weed. They went out for a "smoke" with our server who returned and who then also reeked of weed. A couple police officers came into the pub just before my friends and I were almost ready to leave. I didn't catch what they were looking for as karaoke was going on. They walked around the pub's sitting area and then left after a couple minutes. Then, as my friends and I were getting ready to leave one of the men at this table of late-middle-aged folks told us that we didn't look like we were having a good time (our lack of good time was due to their raunchy conversation). After he said this to us, he tossed us a joint. Yes, within the establishment where the server was apparently joining her patrons in what was technically an illegal activity, a client decided to openly throw a joint to us. Before anyone starts saying things like, "what'd you expect at a pub", please allow me to state that I kind of expect places that serve food to at least be overtly law abiding. As much as I personally don't like weed, I expect that the server is A) not going to get high while at work and while serving tables, and B) not going to overtly tolerate illegal activity from her patrons (opinion over the current legality of marijuana doesn't matter, it's still currently illegal). I use the word "overtly" on purpose here. I don't care how good the food is at a restaurant (the food here was not amazing, but fairly good), this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable from any food service establishment, even a pub in the middle of the afternoon. Won't go back, won't recommend. read more

I've been coming here pretty often since my friends in "The Joint Chiefs" have been hosting the Sunday afternoon jam. You know, for a "dive bar" this place is alright. Reminds me of what most joints were like in the eighties. The service has always been good as has the food. I think it's a great place to just hang out at on a Sunday with friends. I can't speak to what the rest of the week is like but Sunday afternoons sure are a hoot! read more

I went for a special event at this location. There was a pre-planned group of 60. Epic fail. Poor organization from the restaurant. That large of a crowd you need to stagger serving times so everyone gets their food hot. There was only one dish we had a choice of to be served. The event was planned to start at 4pm and the steak orders werent taken until after 5. Food did not start coming out until 630. Everyone on that was part of this group all had similar complaints that their veggies/sides/garlic bread were cold. The steaks came out alright and almost everyone was happy with that. read more

For the fist time, my wife and I went to Richard's Pub for their Tuesday night pizza special. We started with 10 teriyaki wings. Honestly the best wings I've ever eaten. Judy, not a wings fan, can't wait to go for more. We then shared a medium bacon and fresh tomato pizza. We love pizza and agree that theirs is the greatest. I had a pint of beer and she a highball. As an added bonus, the bill was under $22. I wish Yelp had a 6 star rating. read more

The room has a dance floor in the middle and chairs all around. I liked the music and the lay out. How ever the staff not so much. I had gone here for my 38th birthday with a couple of my daughters, husband and sister. We had a good time in dancing then when we were going home. A drunk man that was a regular tried to steal out cab. My husband asked if he could take the car instead as we had 7 in our family. He got out and punched my husband. The bouncers under my husbands request did not hold the drunk man till police came to charge him. I was not impressed that the owner and staff do not protect or take care of their customers. Ive been to Richards 4-5 times every year for my birthday. Next year we will be looking for a new place to dance. read more

I'm commenting about the bad review that Sol gave about a month ago. We went in as a group not prepared and not properly notified that it was an event to enjoy the live music and company of fellow group members from 4 to 9 more my mistake for not making it clear to everyone not the pub. As with our events or get togethers we don't just eat and run off. Sol only came to one event with that impression of eat and run. We have had three events at Richard's pub now and we will continue to repeat our events there with quite a few repeat participants from our group that are very satisfied with the delicious food, the live music and the company that we are with. read more

Currently my favourite local pub.Really cluby on Friday nites but bit less so Sat .Fun to see the young local chics who probably just turned 18 learn the ropes of bar hopping there.Seems cool enough place to be seen.Staff are hot looking as club servers should be..Security is tight,the check in is almost a privacy invasion. read more

Pros: WIngs were cheap at 35 cents but were very small Cons: 1 Order steak sandwich for $14.50, meat portion was tiny, just like you'd get at a fancy restaurant. This is a cheap pub, so I expected a bigger piece. Half the plate was nasty house salad that had no taste 2 Burger was OK but too messy 3. Waitress was weird. When we said we just want water to stat, she gave me the dirties look ever. She probably expected me to order a jug of beer. Never go there again. read more

I am writing this review as I am sitting here at Richard's Pub. You see I can do this because there really isn't much else to do here. We are sitting in the upper level and have been here for about an hour and a half later we have seen our waitress twice. Short of tripping her to get her attention, we sit and wait. It's over an since we ordered the party platter and even longer since ordering a drink. No worries of drinking too much in this establishment. At least the band is good. read more
