Found this place when family was visiting town. They're strongly anti=Starbucks, so I had to find an alternative. Rrags proved a great choice. We happened to come in the late afternoon, when they run a special of something like $2 for mochas so I grabbed a couple and we had a seat. It wasn't packed so the noise level as ok, and it was a fun calm place to hang out for a bit. While I'm not much of a coffee person, I'd happily come back here. Love this place. Everyone in town agrees this is the best Cafe. I love that when I sit in there for five minutes, I end up smelling wonderfully of coffee for the rest of the day. Come here just about every Saturday afternoon on my lunch break. Sandwiches are excellent, employees are friendly and you have to try the strawberry banana smoothie! I use to love this coffee shop and I still love the wonderful employee but every since the owner Sam left its not the same! The new owner Cheng is awful I have seen her call her employees stupid talk poorly and just such a nasty person to those poor people. She demeans them in front of me and I'm sure other people that come in often can see it to. Very very sad to me. The thing that hit me first when I walked in was the smell of freshly roasted beans. I loved it. They roast the beans in house, and have some of the best coffee I've had in Benicia. I don't know exactly where they make the quiche, but it is pretty good here too. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I'd chose Rrags over Starbucks any day. read more

My mom and I are regulars here. And we are glad to see the original owners have returned. The place felt like it was kind of going down hill and now they've gotten back up! I love their coffee and their other drinks. If you ever have a sweet tooth and have a chocolate and coffee craving get their Black and White mocha. It's delicious with a hint of raspberries. I am also pleased to see that they now have gluten free baked goods for gluten intolerant people like my mom. Their bagels are great, so are their brownies and coffee cakes. They have also have begun selling boba drinks, which is great because there are no boba shops in town. However it's not a standard milk tea, it's a slush and they are surprisingly delicious. The workers there are very nice and I don't feel like there is much wrong with this place. My only complaint is that they need to work a little bit on their quiche recipe. I have always enjoyed coffee, lunch & breakfast and I am not one to leave reviews but i was upset considering i buy here often but i wont be going back. I was told a while back that i am able to call in orders ahead of time which is most convenient so i can stop in pay and be on my way. I did just that this morning and the owners wife which is the person who took my order asked me what i wanted i proceeded to order an item which mind you there was an additional one when i got there but then she said "Let me check if anyone wants this item" speaking about her line I was mind blow. She then came back to the phone and said nobody wants it so continued to take my order. I'm not one to just ditch an order so i went to pick it up and brought my concern to the girl at the counter and her response was that when they have a line they do not pick up phone orders & apparently if they do whatever item you ask for goes to whoever is in line first?????? i mean seriously!! ? In that case they should have not picked up the phone in the first place. I have never been to a business that conducts business this way. It is upsetting. My suggestion is take names if you have your regulars placing orders because its ridiculous! read more

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite place for coffee! I can't live without my Rrags! It's all about the latte frappe for me. I've been getting them for years and I still cant get enough. Iced/blended coffees never seem to be strong enough for me but Rrags has it completely mastered! I LOVE their lattes and coffee... haven't really tasted the other stuff. But if your a little detail oriented like me, you know that a great latte has to be the right temperature, the right foam consistency, and the right espresso taste to really be perfect. And as a former barista-caffeine addict, my coffee better be perfect! This is why I love coming here, because I don't have to worry about sending something back, or having to deal with a crappy drink. This place was mediocre to say the least. We're new to Benicia and this is right by my house. So I took my kids after school to get some hot chocolate and a pastry. The girl at the front had absolutely no customer service skills she took forever to make our drinks and there was nobody in front of us and when I did get my drink it was literally lukewarm. I got the chai latte which was way too sweet and really didn't taste like chai and was pretty watered down. I also had the quiche which I didn't find all that great either. The owner managers don't work together and train differently, they only hire girls, ask them why.....any young man would not take the insults and verbal comments from them and they are constant! They have the best Thai tea at this place! My daughter told me and I've been going there ever since. But what's even better than the Thai tea is the customer service at this café. I go in almost every day and the young girls who work there always make me feel welcome and sometimes they see me coming in before I even get to the counter and my drink is waiting for me at the register! Under the new owners Lenny & Cheng business at Rrags is terrible. I was in there one day recently and the wife, Cheng, was on the phone yelling at a customer on the phone regarding lost money. It was so disrespectful the language she was using. I used to love coming here. Hearing a business owner talk like that IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS trying to enjoy coffee is a disgrace. I would never reccomend this place since Sam&Gia left. read more
