I received friendly, fast service even while they were very busy. Drink: iced lavender honey oat latte It tasted a little burnt, it was a little too sweet. There was a large display of Torani syrups--I'm assuming the lavender syrup was Torani. I personally prefer homemade syrup as they usually have "cleaner" ingredients. My go to for coffee!! They have Vietnamese coffee and it's sooooo good! If ever we are taking a trip somewhere early in the morning, Rrags is the place I go to for my coffee and breakfast. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious. I always get the egg sandwich with sausage and Swiss cheese on Asiago bagel. They are always so busy in the mornings, but worth the wait for me. This was my favorite coffee spot... until this interaction. I went in 40 minutes until closing (I even have a rule since I've had many food service jobs and I won't go in if they close in 30 minutes). I was not greeted. I actually said hello and the lady just gives me a weird look. I asked for a latte (yes it is night time but I am a night shift nurse getting ready to go in for my shift) I received the biggest eye roll and then she went on to say they only have large cups. I ordered a medium and I asked politely "can you put it in the bigger cup then?" And then she charged me for the bigger cup. I could understand how she may have understood that as "I'll just take the large then" but if you don't have the smaller size ordered, then the customer should not be charged for something more expensive than what they asked for. Then I get my drink and it's in the cup medium cup I ordered but I was charged for a large. I noticed she had cleaned the coffee machine already but if that's going to be happening 40 minutes until closing then don't serve coffee after a certain time? I got in my car and cried because of how hostile the environment was and I absolutely loved this place. I tried looking for the owner's email because my family runs a restaurant and I understand how reviews can hurt the place but I couldn't find anything. If I could give the interaction 0 stars I would. To end on a positive note, the coffee is really good here and I've had other good interactions during the morning shift. I've been here several times over the years, but at some point between my last visits and now RRags really upped their breakfast game. The Noah's bagels are great, and most of the weird old decor is now updated. Unfortunately, there are often still a few groups of primarily old men talking super loud, as if we all want to hear them instead of our own coffee companions. The ambiance is nice tho without them. Located within a small plaza close to First Street in Benicia is this little cafe that sells their own coffee, healthy food options, coffee, smoothies, milk tea, pastries, and more! I'm glad to see that it's usually busy whenever I come in but it's not too long of a wait. I was waiting for a nail appointment around the corner and I wanted a healthier option if a drink and their "healthy choices banner" caught my attention. I wanted a smoothie and I opted for the blueberry and walnut smoothie with almond milk. It was made fresh and pretty quickly. The staff and service is really friendly and they helped me decide what I wanted. They accept Apple Pay/mobile wallet which is pretty cool. I've been here in the past and I've gotten a caramel macchiato, coffee, and an almond croissant. There's quite a few of coffee shops and bakeries around the area and I know this place has been here for a while. They have a large menu and I feel like service is a little faster here. Rrags cafe is a little spot a little off the main drag in Benecia. We wanted more than a pastry so saw the good reviews and stopped here for breaky. We ordered breakfast burritos. I didn't realize that they are outsourced and they just heat them up. They were super delish though and when I say piping hot.....It was crazy hot. Our viet coffees were burn your mouth hot too. Well, I like my coffee and food hot so I was pleased. The burrito was small and I could have had 2 but that left room for dessert elsewheres. Great coffee and breakfast with fast and friendly service on a Sunday morning! My fiancée's family lives near by, but this was our first time here. We all got bagel/croissant sandwiches and coffees. I ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee aka black tie and received a hot one by mistake. I'm easy to please so I let him know I was fine with the hot coffee, but shortly after I walked away with my hot coffee, the man making the coffee brought me out an iced one! We went to this cafe yesterday. It's a cute little place in Benecia. We loved the ambiance, with the coffee bean roaster in the middle of the room. They roast there own beans twice a week. They make several coffee drinks. Delicious. We both had sandwiches. My husband had a BLT with lots of bacon, and I had a turkey/avocado club. Both delicious. The staff were very friendly and fast. Rrags is my favorite coffee shop in Benicia! I have been coming here for over 10 years and they never disappoint. I always go for breakfast, and although the lines are long at that time, the service is really quick and efficient. The staff are always extremely friendly and get my order accurately. I love looking around the place and seeing old friends catching up and people genuinely enjoying their coffee. I usually order an egg sandwich on a bagel with avocado, and it always hits the spot! To accompany the bagel, I usually order a Mexican mocha or a Vietnamese iced coffee, both delicious! Even the Thai tea is wonderful. read more

Had the sausage bagel, and it had a weird after taste. I couldn't finish it. Not happy. Friend had a bacon bagel sandwich, the bacon was the boxed camping bacon, thin, hardly any on it. Have tried their bagel breakfast sandwiches and found both the sausage and bacon tasteless.
