Very friendly local coffee shop that roasts their own beans! They had a remodel a couple months ago and the place looks fantastic. The vibe is super chill, with locals stashed at their corner, but there's plenty more room for sitting. They get Noah's bagels for their bagels, and have some burritos made by a local vendor. The owner Sam is super chill, ask him about why it's called Rrags! OH and the reason why I come here so often other than because it's a local coffee shop and everyone should be supporting local businesses is that they are the ONLY spot in Benicia that makes a Vietnamese coffee fantastically. You won't regret it!

I'm a stickler for excellent customer service and the cashiers at Rrags get an A+! They offer a large variety of coffee, baked goods, and food items that can be enjoyed from breakfast to dinner. I tried the morning glory loaf and the caramel macchiato - both were delish. My daughter enjoyed the Lavendar Oatmilk Latte. I'm excited for the many other items we'll enjoy on our many other visits. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. I love the mailboxes that hold the coffee beans - very original. I like what Rrags has brewing!

Rrags Caffe is such a hidden gem! The coffee is rich and smooth, the food is fresh and flavorful, and the vibe is super cozy; which is perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. You can really taste the care they put into every dish and drink. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. The breakfast egg sandwich hit the spot, the lox bagel was chef's kiss, and don't even get me started on those apple & blueberry fritters!!! But I highly suggest coming as early as possible because they run out of pastries quick! I came back the next day for another blueberry fritters and it was all sold out! For drinks, I ordered their Royal Special Mocha and it was, like I said, rich and smooth! Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to again and again.

Cane after work and got an iced mango matcha and a raspberry tart. I liked the dessert, it was sweet and tart, which I loved. The mango matcha was something that the staff hasn't done before and I wish it had a little more mango syrup. The place was so cute and I loved the coffee wall.

Every now and then I get a craving for a bagel breakfast sandwich and that's when Rrags comes to mind! Service is always quick and the food is always so good. The breakfast sandwich is somewhat customizable so you can add toppings to your liking (based on what they have). FYI - the parking lot is small and usually fills up. However, street parking is always an option!

Breakfast sandwich- thin but my Grandmother liked it.

This was a pleasant experience! I stopped by to get coffee and food after seeing this place pop up as a suggestion. I ordered a Lox bagel and iced black and white latte for myself, a breakfast sandwich for my Grandmother and an iced honey lavender oat latte for my sister. We loved our drinks; my latte "tasted like coffee" (and not sugar) and that was perfect. The Lox bagel was fresh and a bit burnt on the edges but nothing too bad or spectacular. I loved the various meat, bread and cheese options for the breakfast sandwich and got a bacon and pepper jack on wheat. My Grandmother liked it. The place was chill but definitely busy. The staff were patient and helpful as I looked the menu. The place was busy but clean and I was able to find a unoccupied table inside while I waited for my order.

I came here to study a little with my boyfriend! It was a little rainy so I thought a hot honey and oat latte and toasted bagel with cream cheese was going to perfect for the cold weather. My boyfriend ordered a toasted Asiago bagel with jam and butter and an iced black and white mocha. I sadly received an iced honey oat latte but it's okay, I didn't mind too much so I just kept my drink. I tried the black and white mocha which was extremely sweet, opposite from the honey oat latte which just tasted like milk with espresso. On the other hand, the toasted bagels were delicious!! Perfectly toasted and was ready a couple minutes after I ordered. We sat in a corner of the cafe which was nice with having both the window and cozy interior of the cafe to look at when doing my assignment. All in all, not the best coffee but great bagels!

The corner by Huckleberry's is often full. Ive been a couple times and the quality and service have been consistently good. Of the foods I'd recommend the fried green tomatoes and fried okra for starters. They're also one of few places offering beignets. For entrees the crab cake Benedict is good. The portions are filling. Ambiance is very casual. The utensils come in a little paper pouch and the napkins are paper towels on a dowel at each table. This particular location can look a bit dim. I think it's because of the direction of the windows. It's tasty and if you've been to Huckleberry's before you won't be disappointed by this one either.

I think one of the veggies was not fresh, but not a big problem I asked for ice water which the service person brought in a wine glass, a nice touch. + slices of lemon, which I ask for. Quick, efficient and friendly service in a white tablecloth setting. There's an annual Street Fair across the street. So an easy live Jazz graced the outside brick patio I was seated in . They call it garden seating, but there's not enough plants to call it a garden. Also the the connecting door and building is in contrast quite dusty with flaked paint.. I couldn't skip checking out Sailor Jack's, which used to be the Nantucket Fish Company, when I worked there in the mid 80's. The lunch menu offers some very different items than were offered four decades ago, but some items from those days are still featured today. (Items like clam chowder and fried prawns, for example.) Our server, Elizabeth, was great. She answered our questions and ensured we were happy with our food, at least as far as she could ensure... the food, however, was rather mediocre. We ordered a variety of food ranging from crab artichoke dip, to a chicken club, to fish and chips, to clam chowder, to a burger, and finally crab cakes. The starter, sandwich, fish and chips, and burger were all okay. The crab cakes however were not liked by those in our group that tasted them. (A lot of filler and not much crab from what one of our party members said). In any case, I mentioned this and the crab cakes, that went mostly uneaten, were removed from our bill. Bravo for good customer service! My understanding is that the outdoor dining that we very much enjoyed, was added during Covid. Back in the 80's the outdoor eating area was all parking lot. I took a look inside to see what else has changed. The main interior dining room looks almost identical to what it looked like 40+ years ago. The previous secondary indoor dining area has now been converted to a food preparation and employee only area. The bar itself looks the same as it did in 1984, but the area around the bar looks much more like dining space than it used to. This may be a good thing as attitudes on indulgences have certainly changed over the decades. I suspect at some point I'll return, hopefully it won't be decades...

If you're looking for the kind of dinner that makes you want to cancel your other weekend plans…read morejust so you can go back, Baxters is it. Tucked right on First Street across from the bay in downtown Benicia, this place has completely earned its reputation as the town's culinary crown jewel. From the moment you walk in, the warmth is unmistakable -- and it's not an accident. Owners Kenneth Coker and Kevin Shaw built this restaurant to feel like their own living room, and it shows in every detail, right down to the name (a sweet nod to their beloved Fox Terrier). That personal touch translates into genuinely attentive service that never feels stiff or rehearsed. Now, the food. The Beef Wellington is the stuff of legend -- perfectly rendered pastry, a filling that melts before you even chew, and clearly a labor of love from the kitchen. The scallops are seared to that impossible perfection where the outside caramelizes but the inside stays buttery-soft. And if salmon gnocchi in vodka sauce is on the menu when you go, order it without hesitation -- it's rich, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. Even the truffle burger, which almost feels like an afterthought on a menu this elevated, has become a neighborhood obsession for good reason. Cocktails are crafted with the same care as the food -- inventive, well-balanced, and clearly the product of a team that takes its bar program seriously. And if you can snag a reservation in The Speakeasy, the intimate back room, do it. It's easily one of the most romantic, memorable settings for a special occasion in the entire Bay Area. Baxters isn't just a great restaurant -- it's a genuine gathering place, the kind of spot a whole town falls in love with. Whether it's date night, a family celebration, or just a nightcap at the bar, Baxters delivers an experience that's warm, delicious, and utterly memorable every single time. Highly, highly recommended.

Best of all, she keeps that coffee cup FULL--it never runs dry! Her warm, friendly service makes every visit feel personal and appreciated. Now, let's talk about the food. Joy of Eating serves some of the BEST country potatoes in town. I've tried plenty of breakfast spots throughout Vallejo, and these potatoes stand out: hot, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. The omelets are beautifully prepared, the pancakes are delicious, and the coffee is always fresh and enjoyable. On my latest visit, I customized the Garden Omelet, which comes with spinach, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms. I added turkey sausage and cheddar cheese, and the combination was excellent. I paired it with those incredible country potatoes and the homemade toast and that toast is absolutely OFF THE CHAIN! Add a little mixed berry jelly, and you have a breakfast worth coming back for. The atmosphere is peaceful, comfortable, and wonderfully down-home. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy a full cup of coffee, savor a hearty meal, and start your day on the right note. I usually visit two or three times a month, primarily for breakfast. I've heard great things about their sandwiches and lunch selections, but breakfast keeps pulling me back.
