I met Rob IV, who runs the operations of the business, through my workplace after a coworker who had work done by the company recommended him to me. He initially came out to repair a roof leak, but the repair was unsuccessful. He then provided a competitively priced quote to replace my roof and offered a cash discount. In the summer of 2019, he and his crew completed the roof replacement at my home. Immediately after the work was finished, I noticed that damaged fascia boards that were supposed to be replaced had not been repaired or replaced. I brought this to Rob IV's attention, and he assured me he would return at a later date to complete that portion of the work. After the job was completed, he also instructed me to contact him directly on his cell phone if I ever needed assistance under the company's five year workmanship guarantee. He explained that he had not informed Rob III, his father and the owner of the company, that he was performing this job. A few months later, I discovered a new roof leak near my fireplace chimney, ironically in an area that had never experienced problems before the roof replacement. To his credit, Rob IV responded and repaired the issue at that time. However, in 2021, the leak returned in the same area around the chimney, and the fascia boards still had not been repaired or replaced. By then, I was no longer working at the same workplace where we had met. My attempts to contact Rob IV were met with vague responses similar to "I'll try to stop by and take a look," or, more often, no response at all. This pattern continued through 2025. During that time, I reached out multiple times seeking assistance but received no meaningful follow up. Eventually, I contacted the company directly and explained the situation, including the unresolved workmanship issues and my repeated, unanswered attempts to contact Rob IV. As part of that conversation, I was asked to provide a copy of my contract because the company had no record of any work having been performed at my home. The company's initial response was that the five year workmanship warranty had expired. While that was technically true, I explained that the issues began during the warranty period and detailed my efforts over several years to have them addressed. The employee I spoke with was very apologetic and told me she would forward my concerns to Rob III, the owner. Later that same day, she called me back and informed me that Rob III had instructed her to forward the matter to Rob IV instead. That conversation took place more than a year ago. Since then, no action has been taken, and I have not received any follow up communication from anyone at the company. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of accountability and communication. After hearing the full history of the situation, neither Rob III nor anyone else from the company made any effort to contact me, discuss the matter, or offer any assistance. Given the company's frequent references to Christian values and principles in its marketing and messaging, I expected a higher level of customer service, integrity, and accountability. The expiration of the warranty is not my primary concern. My concern is that I began reporting these problems while the warranty was still in effect and spent years attempting to get a response. Had those concerns been addressed when they were first raised, this situation likely would have been resolved long ago. Instead, I was met with repeated delays, unanswered messages, and ultimately no meaningful follow up from anyone at the company. Additionally, while I was offered a cash discount for the project, I never requested or sought any arrangement that excluded the company or its owner from the work. I hired what I believed to be a legitimate company project and assumed the work was being performed through normal company channels. The fact that I was later instructed to contact Rob IV directly because the owner was allegedly unaware of the job was not something I requested, initiated, or had any reason to question at the time. As a customer, I should not be penalized for internal business decisions or communication failures that were completely outside of my knowledge or control. After years of attempting to resolve these issues directly, I am left frustrated not only by the unresolved workmanship concerns, but also by the lack of communication, follow through, and accountability shown throughout the process. read more

Robert came out to our house and we found him to be very knowledgeable and more than experienced for the job due to his many, many years in business. His roofing wisdom was much appreciated and that seems to be harder to find nowadays. He seems to have seen it all through his career. Robert was very nice and easy to talk with. We were looking for a reroof, eliminating our 4 skylights and securing our chimney. We received his proposal a few days after. It was very detailed including the materials to be used, what would be replaced and how the work would be done. Arial photos are included to actually get to see the problem areas. It's not like we can all climb up there and check it out... right? We were able to reuse our current tiles and we asked them to take out 4 skylights, so they roofed over that. They reattached a large copper piece, for the top of our chimney, that had fallen off years ago. Wow what a fantastic job they did. We gave them a heap of metal and they fixed it beautifully and installed it. It took 4 guys 5 days to complete the project. I was impressed with their hard work and focus. They answered all my questions and communication seemed really good with everyone. They cleaned up daily and they seemed to follow safety guidelines. The contract includes a 10 year warranty. RT just finished replacing my flat roof and I was very pleased with the results. They did an excellent job. The office was very good about communicating with me. Robert the owner came out in the rain to cover spots that were leaking before they were able to start the job. His crew were very respectful and did an excellent job cleaning up every day. Do not use. Complaint pending with CA Contractors State Licensing Board, BBB, and the City of Poway Chamber of Commerce. As RT Roofing's President, Robert Tomeoni, completed an on-site estimate. During an informal telephone review he quoted a half days worth of work for multiple cracked tiles, slips, and annual maintenance repair. The formal contract provided by RT Roofing contract did not include a duration of work or itemized costs. Two individuals arrived on-site. A total of 25 minutes was spent at the home with 7 minutes of actual roof time between two large, multi-tiered roofs. This equaled $1500. The estimated work was not completed to a workman like standard as verified by multiple home security videos, pre/post work picture comparison, and a visual inspection of several tiles with 3-4 inches cracks / chips. A phone call with Robert was scheduled to voice concerns that the agreed upon work could not have physically occurred within the documented timeline. Robert informed me that a half days worth of work could be as little as 4-7 minutes to 4 hours in duration as along as the work was completed. Robert was asked to return on-site to verify in-person as he did not complete the work himself or visually inspect it. During the re-inspect, Robert did take the time to diligently examine the roof. However, he stated the un-repaired tiles were not broken tiles. When asked to defined a broken tile, Robert answered a crack or a chip of 3-4 inches. When it was pointed out that the tiles met that threshold and that underlayment was showing he stated that that wasn't part of the quote. When pressed with contractual language, he finally stated his team had missed the work. During Robert's re-inspection he took several pictures of "replaced" tiles. The areas that Robert had identified where his team had conducted repairs were actually previous repairs, as documented via HD drone footage during a Jan 2024 home inspection. Robert also was unable to identify where the slipped tiles had been re-seated stating that that was impossible. Robert refused to watch the home security video footage or review the HD drone footage to compare against his pictures. Robert just repeated "I don't care about the video footage, you signed the contract, it doesn't matter we'll just place a lean against your home". Ultimately we came to an impasse, the amount was paid to prevent a lean, and we'll transition to the CSLB mediation process. Called several times and left messages but no call back on either issue. I've used RT Roofing on at least three separate occasions for many years but the service appears to have gone downhill and customer loyalty doesn't seem to be a concern; the warranty I have with them appears useless. Robert and his team are very hard working to say the least! I met with multiple contractors to get a small area of my home (what used to be an outside patio) re-roofed. Reached out to RT roofing last week to get a bid on a leaking roof and to also perform an inspection on the rest. Staff was very friendly on getting me scheduled for the following Wednesday and took the day off from work to meet the inspector for a quote. The guy did not show up in the time that was provided to me nor did I get a phone call that he would be running late. An hour later I called the office and found that he had Got stuck at the site because supposedly the homeowner was "quite the talker" and then supposedly he had a personal appointment after that. I was told he would be at my house no later than 4pm. After waiting an additional four hours past the time he was supposed to arrive originally I locked up the house and left. I called the office to cancel appointment and left a message describing the situation. As far as I know he never did show up and I never did get a call back or an apology. The price/time is why I would have lowered to 4 - the staff member who came out was here for less than 30 minutes and it was $550. I was just happy to have the repairs done... 10 months later, we get rain again, the same problem is occurring. I've left two voicemails, tried their text option twice (from the website), and not even a call back. I understand that they may be busy again with the significant rain, but who doesn't call back? It was not easy to find roofers who know how to work on standing seam metal roof. It took us couple of months to interview roofers, to screen and to analyze the quotes we received. First of all Robert from RT Roofing is the only person who made two trips- one trip for site visit and another trip to meet with with us and listened to our needs and goals. Secondly his quote was very detailed and competitive. All the crew members are skilled and professional. Before they left for the day, they would clean up and put away the supplies nicely. This company was recommended by someone when we were looking to have some roof repairs done so I thought we would give them a try. When he first came out for the estimate everything was fine. After that, he did not respond when he said he would and failed to show up on the date that he had promised to do the work. We rescheduled and I specifically asked him to make sure to call me if he was going to be late so that I could meet with him prior to beginning the work. He did not call and showed up 2 hours late. I had already left for work. They did the work, but did not clean up properly after. I found rusty nails and pieces of roof in my driveway. There was also a part of the job that was not done. They reluctantly sent someone out to fix the part that wasn't done and it still wasn't done to my satisfaction. When I contacted them to tell them about the issue, they said the job has been complete and any other work with require an additional charge. I wanted to go over the work that was completed with them to make sure that the work in the contract was actually done but they refused to come out to discuss it and then proceeded to send me an invoice with a late charge. I will not be using this company again as it was some of the worst customer service I have experienced. read more

RT Roofing was recommended by a fellow that he does flipping houses work for. Well, RT should stick to working for people that do not require professional work with an attention to detail (that most homeowners expect). RT Roofing bid my job and offered a 7 1/2 % discount for cash, which is what made me go with him (had 4 estimates). Robert called at 6 PM the night before the tear off to tell me where to drive to see houses with the 2 colors of shingles I was deciding between. (I had emailed him 3 days earlier). It was already dark by the time I got home from work. He needed the color by 7 AM the next morning. They did the job but it was sloppy, careless and took forever. Guys did not show up on time, called in sick and told me I was being too picky. The son (Robert Jr.) bent a 4" nail while replacing a ledger board on the 2nd story. He said it was "difficult to get out" "I made an honest mistake" SOOOO. he pounded the nail into the flat side of the beam. When they finally pulled it out they did not spackle it, just painted it. (I Have photos) They did not spray paint the boots before they put them on and did not take any measures to minimize over spray. So there is over spray all around the boots on the shingles. And there were spray paint areas on the front shingles where "stray" pieces of tin were showing (why were they showing?). Again, I was told I was being too picky! After the job was 95% complete, Robert, Sr. tells me that he is no longer accepting cash and I have to pay full price. No $650 discount. I will say that Arthur and his son Coty did great work. read more

Robert came out to give me an estimate on Oct. 25, 2017. After surveying the damage, he said that the ballpark figure to repair the house was around $3,000 - $3,500, but I would receive a detailed estimate via email by Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, and then I could present that estimate to my landlord for approval. A week + a few days went by and no estimate had been sent, so I called and left a message (it takes hours, if not a day to get a call back from the receptionist) stating that I had not received my estimate yet. A day later, when the receptionist finally returned my call, she told me that Robert had misplaced the estimate and would send it to me right away. Another week + went by without an estimate, so I called again, and again, left a message (apparently, they do not answer calls, just return messages). When the receptionist returned my call on Nov 13, TWO WEEKS AND 5 DAYS AFTER ROBERT CAME TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE, she told me that she had thought that another woman had already spoken with me, and that Robert had decided that he would like to refer me to another company because he had decided that he didn't want to do the job, and if he did do the job, it would be a month before he could get to it. THANK YOU FOR WASTING ALMOST 3 WEEKS OF MY TIME, RT Roofing. You'll get better customer service from a 15 year old cashier at Jack In The Box than you will with RT Roofing. read more
