I'm a long time customer but today I was disappointed in one aspect of my service. I had bought a couple tires there the week before and one of them had a slow leak. So, I decided to buy a new tire instead of doing a repair. I was going to buy a tire usually $125 but was going to get it for $75 ( to compensate for the tire that had the leak. When it came time to pay I wasn't given the compensation for the other tire. I may not have explained myself clearly enough but I was disappointed the deal I was promised the day before was not honored. I am usually treated mush better there. read more

I usually don't buy used tires but I tore one up unknowingly, called RT and they had a used Continental for $40 plus installation. Saw the commercial on TV. Went there at 830 am on a Saturday and they got me out in 30 minutes. I could tell the tire was professionally prepped with new weights and was all wet from testing for leaks. I had an unfortunate tire blow out on the freeway and changed to the spare tire on the roadside. So here I am back home at 2:30 pm with a crappy temporary spare tire on the right front of my truck. I make a few phone calls and a new tire runs between $170 to $200 plus tax, disposal fee, mounting and balancing. Then I remembered my son once bought a tire after a similar freeway event from RT Tire. Nothing to lose, I phoned RT Tire and told them what size tire I was looking for and it needed to have 60% percent or better tread wear left. I think the person that helped me was named Kevin. Nevertheless his name is Kevin now... Kevin said, "hold on a minute, I think I have one tire left in the size you need". After about a minute or so, Kevin said he found my tire and it had about 90% tread life left. The fact he had one was a relief, but 90% tread life was so unexpected! I asked Kevin what it would cost me out the door mounted and balanced. Kevin told me $83!! After I picked myself off the floor, I asked Kevin to please hold the tire for me. I said I will be there withing 30 minutes. Kevin told me the shop was a little busy today, but he could definitely handle the mount an balance for me. When I arrived at RT Tire, the tire was off to the side and I met with an obviously overworked Kevin. Kevin was running around the store answering phones, searching for tires, and handling the walk-ins too. The tire was probably had better than 90% tread life and I could see the multi-colored bands they add to the tire at manufacture. Kevin wheeled the new tire and my bad tire and rim to the back for the mounting. In the meantime, I wandered the store that had 100's if not 1000's of tires on wall racks and in piles. I thought to myself..."how the hell did Kevin remember he had 1 tire in the size I needed?" The movie "Rain Man" came to mind, but whatever.. LOL I wandered in and out of RT Tire out of boredom and I got the word my tire was mounted and ready to go. That probably took 45 minutes from the time I walked into RT Tire until the time I walked out of the store with my tire. With that said, I found RT Tire to have customer care that was beyond the 5 stars YELP allows me to give, prices that were insanely fair if not down right ridiculously low, and a tire selection that was pretty decent if you need to save a few dollars over new, or want to match the existing tire wear of your other tires. RT Tire has my vote!! read more

Found these guys on Craigslist. Double checked the reviews on Yelp. Headed out yesterday and got me a fine set of BF Goodrich's for my trusty 2001 Yota. Everything checked out. James greeted me straight away and busy as they were they had me in and out within the hour. Couldn't be happier. The tires are 95% new and my Covid-unemployed- broke-ass saved a shit ton of $$ . Blown away. From the time I parked my car to when I left was around 10 minutes. They are efficient, professional, fast, and unbelievably affordable. I got two tires, INSTALLED, for less than the price of one new tire, not installed. 95% life left on the tires. They looked brand new. The guys here are great! I came in Saturday and Sam helped me (guy with the ponytail). The guys got on my car immediately, they had my exact tire size in stock and worked with my budget. They got me out of there so much faster than some other tire stores I've been to. This is my fifth time using this store for a tire or balance, all of my local friends and family know this is the place to go for good priced tires. I brought my car in to have 2 tires replaced. My boyfriend had to leave after picking the tires out, so I was by myself. One of the mechanics came out and explained to me that the lug nuts were too tight so they may have to break it off. I asked him if it was going to be expensive to fix or a big hassle, and he told me it was no big deal. I don't know anything about cars, so I said ok. They ended up "breaking" two lug nut studs off. My car requires 5. At the end of the transaction, they made me sign my receipt saying they were not liable. I brought my car home, where my boyfriend discovered that one lug nut had been cross threaded and the other one snapped off..the one that was cross threaded had no lug nut on it, nor could one be put on it. So that proves that they were at fault, they weren't "too tight" like they said. my boyfriend spent hours trying to fix the problem and I came out of pocket for the rest. Not to mention it's a total safety hazard. They knew I was a girl who probably didn't know anything about cars, and they took the opportunity to dump their mistake on me and my boyfriend. No matter what any negative person might say about RT Tires, just remember, they're morons. I live up in the Martinez, CA Hidden Lakes neighborhood 1.4 miles away. I came to the shop for a quick tire and install and was out in about 20 minutes from parking up front to leaving the parking lot. The guys are very humble and extremely helpful, along with friendly/welcoming. You have to come here for new and/or used tires, along with tire repairs. This wasn't our first visit at RT Tire, and it certainly won't be our last. We originally went in because of a flat tire. We did go in about 30 minutes to closing and spoke to James. He was super helpful with showing us all of the different options to pick out a set of tires. After talking with James, and picking out a great set, I came back the next morning to get the tires installed. As I drove up I was greeted with a smile by Sam, and he sent me inside. I walked in and was greeted by the sweetest receptionist Marilyn, and she knew who I was and what I needed and took my keys. I wanted to like them so bad! I had a one off experience and you should not let mines deter you from coming here. So i call and ask if they have tires for my car in stock and they did, awesome. I go in and i pick out 2 Michelin tires with 90% tread left! I do notice there is a nail in one of them so i question the guy about it. He says they don't pull them out, they want to be upfront with the customer about what they're getting. He said the nail didn't go all the way through so I'm good. 2 almost brand new tires installed and out the door in 30 minutes for about $140! Staff was super polite and never felt like i was being up-sold. Why the bad review? Well the day after i get my tires i notice one of them is flat. I put air in the tire and wait. It deflates again. I go to a local tire shop (to save me a drive to concord) to see if i can get it patched and they told me its unrepairable. What a bummer, i literally just got these. So i take the tire back to RT to see if they can do anything for me and they told me no. It is in writing that their warranty does not cover punctures, but i felt like i was really getting the short end of the stick. Turns out My tire had 2 punctures. One on the tread (could have been the same nail i noticed) and one on the wall that wasn't repairable. I had the tire for less than 48 hrs and they wouldn't replace it. These guys have good reviews for a reason, definitely give them a shot! I just had bad luck? Will i try them again in the future? Haven't decided yet read more

We've seen the sign for this place a hundred times driving south on 680 and didn't think much of it... that was until we needed new tires for the wife's van. The local Goodyear wanted $850 for a set of tiers. um... no thanks! I was pretty sure that I was going to be getting my new tires at Costco. I mean, we've got them in the past there and they seemed the cheapest option. Last month Costco had a $70 off a set of 4 tires and $60 off installation. I had the tires in my shopping cart online. $606 - $130 + $44 (tax) = $520. I almost pushed the "purchase" button, but something just didn't feel right. I kept putting it off and then missed the sale :( Well, I'm glad I did! I stopped by RT Used Tire on my way to a friend's house and simply expected they'd have old bald tires. To my surprise their tires looked pretty much brand new and they had 4 that would work perfectly for our van. The best part: out-the-door price including installation, balancing, tax, etc. was only $250! I'm pretty excited about saving over 50% on my new(ish) set of tires! As usual the Sales guy named Jason was very helpful and made sure I got a great pair of Tires for a fraction of the cost at any other shop, but this time I had a small problem and asked if they could look at a tire sensor that went out after the last time they put tires on my car. Patrick in the installation department is always a gentleman, but this time the guys went above and beyond and guaranteed a customer for life, even though the sensor issue happened over 6 months ago, Patrick still fixed the sensor for me at no charge because he said he recognized me as a customer and was a complete gentleman about it... I'll Keep this short and sweet, Went to RT tire to get tires for my Wife's car, a friend of mine recommended I check out RT Tire, and I am glad they did! The front tires were really bad, but the Gentle man that helped me told me that the rear tires still had some life in them, but with the deal he offered me, I went ahead and just got all 4 tires, the installation was fast, smooth, and when I thought I was going to have to come back because the wheel lock key was not in the car, the guys in the back found a key that worked and got it done! When you walk in, especially in the back, Its pretty dirty, BUT it seriously does not matter, I only mention it because the place is not at all what it seems, you walk in thinking you should walk out, but then you would be missing out on some of the best customer service you could possibly ask for!
