I'm giving two stars mainly because they forgot the menudo that we order more then twice after asking for it several time. We did not get mad the first time they forgot it, we simply asked about it and we were told they will bring it right up. After 20 mins and every one had finish the other food we asked for it agin and we were told ones more that it was coming right up , this time we heard them blaming us for us never getting our order. 5 more mins went by , and still nothing. I don't eat re heated menudo , so i can't even take that home to go , so we told them we did not wanted it any more. The lady at the cash register apologized and told us that we will get our money back on our way out. The two quesadillas we did manage to get were good. But I don't like getting blame for other mistakes, the place was not busy when we were their so i can't even give them that excused. read more

Ruben tacos use to be a good place for good corn quesadilla. But this chef they have now is the worst one. I ask for a crunch quezadilla but this guy make it uncooked and I told him that ask for crunch one . Look like he get mad he put it on the flame for 15 more seconds. I always love coming here. The free beans are delicious. The tacos are bomb. But tonight, the older lady at the register was eating!! She took our orders as well as my debit card and didn't wash her hands! Management please let her know that is unprofessional and unhealthy. The Aguas frescas are delicious also the homemade tortillas , menudo, all of their meats are very good and I LOVE their nopales!! Very clean inside. Classic authentic genuine Mexican food. Such horrible food. The rolled tacos I got were disgusting. They were made with ground beef and for $14. One bite and I couldn't even continue to eat. Threw them away and ordered dominoes. My friends also got stuff from there and the ca nachos were the grossest thing I've ever seen. The sc was like frozen or not mixed good and the avocado was black everywhere. Ordered two large menudos to go...it was just ok. Surprised to find not one but both of my orders had a pig foot bone taking up at least half the cup. Tacos were greasy and the tortillas chewey. My 2nd visit. My first time watching the cooks make several orders. I see they make most items from scratch. Today is taco Tues, my friend got 2 Carnitas tacos. They came out in a couple minutes. My cabasa lengua tacos took 10 minutes. What's a tad long for me. But, the highest quality food I had see m in a while. The reddest menudo with tons of meat. El Corral is my go to menudo place. Decided to try the nail shop out that's next door. It was gonna be a 30 min wait so my sis and I went here to grab a bite to eat. We ordered cheese enchiladas/beans/rice (pretty much our usual) when I say these were the BEST enchiladas we ever had... they truly were!! 1st bite! Instant burst of flavors! You can totally taste how fresh and authentic everything is. The sauce was definitely homemade which made it even better! So we found our new spot and will be back soon! This is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. However be prepared to wait over 20+ minutes for your order. The service is horrible period. The servers and cashiers would rather finish their conversation than to try and help you out. I've been coming here for over 10 years and will continue to return. Their food is tasty with an authentic, home made flavor. I look forward to the menudo on the weekends as does much of that area of Riverside as Saturday and Sunday mornings are packed with locals. If you don't mind the wait, it is a can't miss. The tacos are tasty but kind of small which probably makes it the worst value. However, they offer a taco plate with 3 tacos, rice and beans for $4.99. The burritos are very good and filling with your choice of meat, rice and beans. My girlfriend is a huge fan of the chile verde wet burrito - definitely recommended! They've also got a seafood menu but be warned, the shrimp "al diabla" is ridiculously hot. Huaraches, sopes, quesadillas as well as a selection of aguas frescas and some beers are also available. EVENING HOURS ARE LIMITED. I believe they are only open to until 11pm Fri-Sat but 10pm the rest of the week. If you want tacos only, a truck or stand may be a better, if not, cheaper option. But if you want to sit down in a relaxed setting, this is the place to go. read more

So here I find myself writing a review for a place that I have never been to until recently. My wife decided one evening that she wanted to try this place out and i figured, what the hell, lets give it a try. We got there at about 730pm, and we had to wait in line as the people in front of us decided on what they wanted. We had aguas frescas and I opted for the Horchata...DAMN IT WAS GOOD! The food overall was really good. I can't really complain. Flavorful and satisfying...so why the 2 stars you ask? I believe that after we ate there, was when emilio went to eat there.... When my wife was about to take a 3rd bite into her Popusa...i think thats what it was...A COCKAROACH WALKED OUT OF THE POPUSA AND ONTO THE PLATE AND ONTO THE TABLE WHERE I KILLED IT WITH A NAPKIN! I killed it with the napkin, while my wife jumped up and tried to stifle her vomit, granted she is 1 month pregnant. I calmly called the cashier over to show her the napkin and she looked at me, like I had pulled the damn thing out of my pocket and said it was in the food!! She came over to see if my wife was ok, and took the food and threw it away. She then asked my wife if she wanted her money back, to which my wife said "no" just make me another popusa..the lady said ok and she went back to have another one made. Went to riverside to visit my dad. He recommended this place. We ordered the barbacoa caldo and birria. Plus campechana, a couple tostadas and carne asada tacos. The Food was very good! Worst service ever staff is very rude I asked them if they had chicken soup and tacos Dorados they hesitated and said yes she suggested I put in the order because it take about 20 minutes. I arrived in 15 min and the food was already ready (cold) it wasn't what I wanted I got flautas with what seemed to be menu do juice with some chicken thrown in there. The owner runs another business under 'Peter's Party Supply' for wedding decor & linens. BUYER BEWARE! Although he was very nice & mostly professional, he seems to be a low-budget operation, which means low-budget everything else! Our 20 round linens were different (some cotton & some satin); who does that? Also, we got our napkins a few days before the wedding as agreed, but half of them were NASTY dirty! We had to call him last minute & arrange for them to be picked up, washed & re-delivered! OMG-stressful for a bride! He also did our flowers, & I'm sorry, but the bouquets were NOT what I asked for. He clearly purchased the cheapest flowers he could find (roses, carnations, baby's breath), but ZERO greenery like I specifically asked. We still have yet to determine where the 5 pink linens were that he was supposed to deliver, too... He said he brought them, but they were never found even after the event. I did eat the food at his restaurant once, which was delicious, but it gave me instant diarrhea (sorry, tmi). He was also the only vendor who wanted ALL payments upfront, wrote me a hand written receipt with NO business information on it, & he always asked me to leave the name in my checks blank-SKETCH! Got a great deal, but for peace of mind, if you choose this vendor to do your event, get everything in writing & create your own paper trail.
