Great value for tasty fish tacos and chicken taquitos. I placed the order in the kiosk and the staff called us when the food is ready. Ambiance is casual and comfortable as Rubio's Coastal Grill is a fast food chain.

First time trying this place while stopping in Carlsbad. The staff were super friendly. The place was clean. The food was fresh and delicious! I love that they have a salsa bar with different salsas and onions, cilantro, and lemons and limes. I liked their citrus rice and my daughter liked it too. I ordered their fiber bowl it was full of veggies, sweet potatoes, black beans, and avo. It was filling and flavorful. My husband ordered the double protein bowl he chose salmon and steak for his protein. He really liked his bowl! We ordered my daughter a kids chicken and cheese quesadilla. The kids meal are a good portion and come with a choice of rice, apple sauce. Or a churro for their side. The only thing is that they didn't having a baby changing table in the bathrooms. So knocking off a star for the inconvenience.

We visited this location this Saturday while in the neighborhood, and we were very happy! We were BIG Rubio's fans but haven't been to any locations lately since the food amount, quality and the price didn't all add up any more. After multiple deflated "rice" burritos, we said "no more", and said goodbye to Rubio's. Anyway, long story short, we had a great "Rubio's reunion" visit at this location. We heard that Rubio's was trying to get the customers back and doing some new things such as making their burritos larger again. To be honest, we were a bit afraid to be disappointed again. My hub was happy that his chicken especial burrito was well stuffed with less rice and more meat, and was as flavorful as before. I ordered grilled fish tacos plate. The tacos were delicious, with a new touch of the street corn sweetness. We both loved the food again! We were so happy that we could love Rubio's again. Now we know we have been missing going to Rubio's. The place was kept clean, and the salsa bar was clean and stocked up. We loved the ambiance of this location. Can't wait to go to other locations as well and try more items to see what's new!

Love Rubio's. Sad we don't have it in NorCal anymore, so had to make a stop here since we're in SoCal. Their battered fish tacos are delicious! Love that each taco comes with its own lime slice. We also enjoy the variety of salsa offered at the salsa bar. The service is fast and the tables are clean. I also appreciate the Tesla chargers right outside this specific location. Very convenient. This is our first time at this location and won't be the last when we're in the area.

We visited this location today at around 7:00PM. I called prior to place an order for pick up since I was driving, and was told that they couldn't take my order at the moment. Okay, that was the first no-no. I ordered several items including a plain chicken "taco" for my daughter, and this is what I got (see picture). I was shocked to even think I paid almost $6 for this "taco." I went back and showed it to the team leader, and was told that they are doing portion control and that is what I get because I didn't include the other ingredients. So now you know how much chicken / protein you are getting under all the "fluff" ingredients.

Wow I couldn't wait to come to San Diego to eat this right after we landed. I'm from San Francisco and all the Rubios closed down now son I'm super bummed about that, but when I knew it was 8 minutes from my hotel I ran. The food was absolutely delicious. Besides the chips they were not fresh kinda stale. But the location was super clean and the man that took our order was super sweet and kind. He was welcoming and fast and efficient. I'm really going to miss this place :(

I had a draft pilsner, and my husband had a key lime martini which was delicious! Neither too sweet or too tart. We were seated inside in a booth by a window with a gorgeous view of the Pacific. They also have a lovely patio, but we opted for inside due to the heat. Our server, Micheline, immediately made us feel comfortable with great recommendations. The starters came out faster than we expected and were excellent. The mushroom dip was not what we expected. It was thick & rich with a little heat. Very yummy! It was served with fried bread that made a great vehicle for sopping it up. We got one wedge salad (which they split for us). Very fresh, crisp veggies. Generous servings of cheese & bacon. My hubby who does not normally like ranch dressing enjoyed it as much as I did. Our entrees came out quickly as well. I got the sea bass. It was cooked perfectly. The sauce was rich & had a kick. My husband raved about his cioppino as some of the best he's had. Throughout the meal, Micheline was attentive without hovering, joked with us, and made us feel truly welcome. She raised an already outstanding meal to new heights. We didn't have room for dessert, so we'll have to visit again to try out the sweets. The entire experience from the bar to the final check was phenomenal. We will be back and will recommend it to all our friends.

Happy and knowledgeable and so much fun... She clearly loves her job! She was so attentive to us, we felt like we were the only diners there. :-) And she really knows her stuff! Pretty hilarious when we found out that my name is JILL, too, as we rarely meet many JILLs. We hit it off famously! Not only because the food was outstanding, and plated beautifully, but because of JILL we are definitely going back! And if you go----I mean WHEN go---you ask for her!

It features a variety of food stalls serving fresh, high-quality dishes, which was a very welcome break from the typical fried hotel food. With options ranging from pizza and fried chicken to a great selection of Asian cuisines like Thai and Chinese, it is an easy way to accommodate different tastes within a family or across multiple families. I especially loved the fresh, piping-hot dishes (we got the pad see ew) from the Thai food stall paired with a delicious cocktail from the central bar. Before heading back, we also grabbed some mini donuts to bring to the kids. The space is incredibly accommodating, with plenty of indoor seating options including bar tables, cozy booths, and standard tables. On top of that, they have several arcade games on-site, making this a highly viable and fun dining option for families with kids. Would recommend as a viable option if you're in the area.

Well, if you're hungry but can't exactly decide how to satisfy that hunger, just follow the windmill to the Windmill Food Hall. That's what we did and were soon face-to-face with fourteen different food vendors, ranging the ethnic gamut from Thai to Chinese to Sushi to Burgers to Lobster to Pizza to Mexican and pretty much anything your hungry little heart craves. Our party of three scattered into three directions and reunited at a table for our eclectic lunch. My wife went with meatballs from Cacio because Craft Pizza didn't sell slices, just a 12" pizza. My brother-in-law went with a Honey Walnut Shrimp plate from Secret Sauce Wok, and I went with sushi and miso soup from Rolled Up Sushi. I loved my lunch, starting with a nice flavorful Miso Soup ($5) that was served in a coffee cup! My eight Spicy Tuna Rolls ($14) were most definitely spicy. Now, since I love spicy food I was thrilled because 98% of the spicy tuna rolls I've had over the years are ho-hum on the old spiciness meter. Not these. The food hall was packed, and we saw many families having lunch there. Kids were all over, including some uniformed sports teams. The kids were also at the many video and arcade games on the premises, while bigger kids were entertaining themselves at Windmill's big bar. What a fun place for a fun food experience.

One thing they absolutely deserve praise for is the events. Like Jurassic Beach (which I saw on the Instagram page) was such a cool idea, and the light shows have been awesome too. Those kinds of events make camping here even more memorable, especially for families, and you can tell a lot of effort goes into putting them together. I've also noticed the store itself starting to feel more like a camp store again. Seeing more Carlsbad and beach themed merchandise instead of all the Sasquatch stuff is a nice change. It gives the place more of that cozy campground feel that so many people loved about the original store. That being said, it still feels like the store is very focused on attracting outside visitors rather than mainly serving the campers who are staying here. The music and events can also be a little overwhelming at times, especially when you're looking for a quieter campground experience. Overall, I'm happy to see the changes that have been made. The Camp Store is not exactly like the old one yet, but it is definitely heading in the right direction. Keep listening to the feedback instead of criticizing the reviews and continue to bring back that classic camp store feeling, because I really think this place can become something special again.

The clam chowder was just okay and nothing particularly special. The sea bass with garlic butter was a little bland and definitely needed some hot sauce or tartar sauce for extra flavor. The Spanish rice also tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was a little dry. I did appreciate that the black beans came topped with some cheese and were served in a little tostada bowl - a nice touch. The fish and chips were hands down the best thing we ordered. The fish had a super crispy batter and the fries were crispy as well. Definitely the standout of the meal. Pelly's is located in a shared plaza with Ralphs, so there are plenty of parking spaces available.
