Rubio's has been my go-to lately for a quick, healthy-ish dinner! This location is the closest to me and is conveniently located in the Gilbert Gateway Towne Center. There's plenty of parking, but it's shared by multiple businesses, so it might not be readily accessible during peak times. My first visit at this location was a Friday evening so they were naturally very busy. Most of the tables were occupied and the wait was longer than usual. We didn't mind. Most of the bowls change seasonally. At the time of my visit, I ordered one of their shrimp bowls. It had corn, beans, rice, avocado or guac, and other ingredients. My husband ordered a shrimp burrito. Our order was ready in maybe 25-20 minutes. Excited, we started eating it in the car before even leaving our parking spot. It was delicious and filling. At one of my recent visits, I ordered the Mexican street corn bowl which is still available right now. It comes with choice of grilled chicken, steak, or seafood atop citrus rice and lettuce blend, guacamole, roasted corn blend, black beans, cilantro/onion blend, cotija cheese, chipotle lime crema, salsa verde, and tajin®. I opted for shrimp for my protein. Once again, it was flavorful and filling. I enjoyed it so much I ordered it again two weeks later!

I recently visited Rubio's for a casual dinner, and overall, it was a solid experience that I'd rate 4 stars. The service was friendly and attentive--our server was quick to take our order and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive. The atmosphere had that laid-back coastal vibe with clean seating and a relaxed crowd, making it a nice spot to unwind. The only minor hiccup was that the food took a bit longer than expected to arrive, maybe about 10-15 minutes extra during a moderate rush. But once it came, the fish tacos and shrimp burrito were fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot with their signature Baja-style seasoning. Prices are reasonable too. I'd definitely go back for a quick bite!

Disappointing tortilla chips. The picture doesn't show how many tiny little pieces of chips there were on the plate.

We went to Rubio's coastal grill last night for dinner. Typically one of the best fish tacos you will ever find. I will say it was packed inside. They were extremely busy. I was okay with waiting because the people working at the front counter were extremely nice and you could tell they were swamped. There did seem to be a very long gap in time between orders coming out though. When we finally did get our fish tacos I was disappointed. They weren't hot. The fish was almost room temperature. I can't understand why the food wouldn't be hot after waiting so long to get it. The tortilla chips were a disappointment too. Way too many crumbs. Have some pride and some quality control before you send food out to customers. Those chips were not acceptable at all. The fish wasn't warm. This shouldn't be so difficult.

Black burned Mahi Mahi taco. I think they tried to hide it being burned by pouring excessive sauce on it.

I've read that Rubios has been struggling financially. They emailed me a $5 off coupon so I went. I got the Coastal Trio: Original Fish Taco * Salsa Verde Shrimp Taco * Mahi Mahi Taco. The Mahi Mahi taco fish looked like it was burned. It was. I rarely send food back so I forced myself to eat it. Part of the reason I didn't hassle returning it was because when I arrived there was no one at the register. He had gone to the bathroom and no one else could help me. The Salsa Verde Shrimp taco was nothing special. The original fish taco was fine. In all my times at Rubios, this was the worst.

This was my second, and last, visit to this Rubio's location. The first time ordering went smoothly, but the restaurant itself was a bit grimy overall. This time, it took a while to order, and then we sat down to wait for our food. We ordered about 6:20. I had to be someplace close by at 7. When we sat down, I noticed the tables and the floors were sticky. I tried to wipe the table and it was a dark, sticky dirt that came off, like the table hadn't been really cleaned in weeks. The people at the table next to us informed us that they had been waiting for 25 minutes already. By 6:55 we still did not have our food so I had to leave without eating. The food came out about five minutes after I left. My husband ate his burrito and boxed my tacos and brought them home for me. We love Rubio's, but due to poor management and the level of uncleanliness, we will not go to that location again. Oh, and the picture is of the onions I asked them not to put on my tacos.

A Hidden Gem You NEED to Try - Don't Let This Place Stay a Secret!…read moreI've been to Sage & Barrel Craft Eatery a few times now, and every visit leaves me wondering why this place isn't packed every single night. We stopped in on a Monday evening and had the whole vibe almost to ourselves--such a shame because this spot is seriously awesome and deserves a full house! The atmosphere is so vibey--warm, inviting, perfectly lit with that perfect mix of casual and upscale that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It feels special without being stuffy, great for date nights, family dinners, or just unwinding with friends over craft beers (their selection is impressive--40+ local options with plenty on tap). But the real star? The food. Everything is scratch-made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. Deeply flavorful, innovative twists on classics, generous portions, and consistently excellent. Whether you go for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, fish & chips, burgers, or whatever catches your eye, it's all done right. No frozen junk here--just real, delicious food that keeps you coming back. Queen Creek (and the East Valley) needs more places like this. Support local, support quality, and help keep this gem thriving so it doesn't disappear. We'll definitely be back--next time on a busier night so more people can discover it! There was no smile, greeting, or sense that we were happy to be there. Our server was very nice personally, but the service was incredibly disorganized. What made it even more frustrating was that she only had two tables, and the restaurant was not busy. My husband's meal never came out, and she did not even notice that he was still waiting for it. While we were waiting for his food, she brought us a drink we had never ordered. She also filled my kids' lemonades with water. The food was just as disappointing. The salmon was extremely dry and hard, and the pasta noodles my kids ordered were hard as well. After waiting and realizing my husband's meal was never coming, we asked for the bill. At that point, our server actually asked if my husband was ready to order... even though he had already ordered and had been waiting for his meal the entire time. Our bill ended up being high, which made the experience even more frustrating because we spent that much money and left feeling like we received essentially nothing worth coming back for. We all left hungry. Mistakes happen, but this was not one small mistake. It was a series of issues with the service, drinks, food, and basic attentiveness, especially considering the restaurant was not busy. For the amount we paid, we expected a completely different experience. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

I stopped here and had no idea what to do, lol. There is a QR code to order from your phone so I proceeded with that method while in the drive-thru. I find it funny that they have posted statements about their method of service noting that they don't mean to be rude. Yes, I will miss that creamy feta Greek dressing from Salad & Go but their traditional Greek dressing here is also amazing. What was the best part was the grilled chicken!! It was perfect! The entire salad was fresh and the perfect size! I hate when establishments push huge portions and want you to pay astronomical prices. People don't need to eat that much and it's such a waste of food and money. I got this salad all under $6 with taxes and all. That's the way it should be- a perfectly size healthy fresh meal and on the go!! The part that made me especially happy is the packaging! The salad comes in an environmentally friendly container; just the plastic lid and I'm sure they chose that for aesthetic purposes so that you can see it immediately. They also post about not accepting bag/utensils/etc if not needed. Something I opt out when I'm taking it directly home or it's for work where I had silverware on hand.

Even though we weren't the only one's waiting as there was plenty others waiting outside for their meals too, it took them like 20 mins to get our food ready so we can leave. While it was still warm and flavorful, it was not good with how long it took to get our food. I understand that it is hard when you're low on staff or can only make so much at once. But it's not good to lie to customers like that when their meals should be ready. In the end, good but needs to be improved with the flow and making process.

This is the first time where I was unable to eat it due to the flavor and texture. Traditionally hotpot is served with a side of dipping sauce to accommodate with the proteins/veggies. Since there wasn't any, the only option was soy sauce lol... Overall quite bland and pricey for what you get compared to other places. The Thai fried rice was interesting. I wasn't sure what was "Thai" about it because it tasted like a typical fried rice. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It had good flavor compared to the bland hotpot. At the time of my visit it was pretty empty and no one checked on us the entirety of the meal and I had to stand up to try and find a server to check out. Maybe the entryway blocks the view of the servers? Idk. The silverware was also dirty. Asked for a new spoon and there was a small food but stuck on it alongside my plate having some oil on it. Good evening folks, tonight's dinner we will be celebrating a Birthday of a great friend Nichole,…read moreoh to be 25 again lol. This was our first time for us at Bourbon & Bones so hoping for a good experience, we didn't wait long to be seated and immediately our drink order was taken . It wasn't long and our dinner order was taken. We ordered several items and decided to share each so we could try a little of everything, our choices were perfect and everything was good. We all had a good time and would say the staff was very helpful and friendly with any questions we had, the Ambiance was very nice, the decor was nicely done as well, I will put this as one of my top 3 to go to for a nice evening out. Thanks Bourbon & Bones for a good evening out with friends.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner - Expected More for the Price…read more My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here after getting recommendations from friends who spoke highly of the place. Since we're in the Gilbert area, we loved the idea of a great steakhouse without the drive to Scottsdale. We went in with high expectations -- we're no strangers to special occasion dining, so we knew what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in almost every way. The ambience and service felt more like a polished chain restaurant than the upscale dining experience the prices suggest. For a $300-$400 dinner for two, you expect a certain level of attentiveness and flow -- and we just didn't get it. After our appetizers, we noticed we never received the pretzel bread everyone raves about. When I asked our waiter, he said they had just finished baking a fresh batch. When it arrived, it was cold -- so that clearly wasn't the case. We also had to flag our waiter down to take our entrée order, which shouldn't happen at this price point. My steak was fine -- just fine. My wife's fish was the same. Nothing memorable, nothing that made us feel like the bill was justified. By the end of the meal we were both ready to leave. Our waiter did offer a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture, but we were already checked out mentally and chose to go somewhere else to finish the evening on a better note. If you're in the East Valley looking for a truly special dinner, I'd honestly just make the drive to Mastro's Oceans Club or Steak 44.
