Was in Mesa and needed something for breakfast. Senor Taco was close, and a breakfast burrito usually hits the spot. Went with the Hash Brown Burrito. $14.07 after tax. Decent sized burrito, really crispy bacon and hash browns, some sausage links and some sour cream. Split it with my Son. Good salsas. Tortilla could have been a bit softer, but overall it was a really delicious burrito. My Son says 7/10, I say 8.5/10. Service was really friendly at the drive thru. Speaking of that....on the menu boards where you order, ton of flies. Nasty! At the pickup window there were none, thank god. We have been eating at this Senor Taco for years! The good: The food is always top notch. While the menu may look similar to other local Filiberto's/Alibertos style restaurants, the food is of considerably higher quality. The portions are generally very good, especially the burritos. They have some daily specials to get more for your money. The inside is typically clean and they have a well stocked salsa bar! Good outdoor seating area for nice weather and they also have a drive-through. The not so good: The drive-through takes FOREVER. They do have a sign that discloses that the wait may be longer as they 'aren't fast food, they are fresh food cooked fast' but still, if there's more than 3 cars ahead of you, you're better off parking and going inside to order. Additionally, more recently their prices have gotten to the point where it costs the same to go sit down at an actual Mexican Restaurant. While I get that everyone has raised prices, it is going to cost you $30 for two burritos here which is a bit crazy. Overall, we really do enjoy Senor Taco but it's become more of a 'once in a while' splurge versus the frequent customers we used to be. My son had been out of the country and really wanted Mexican food when he returned. In my experiences, this place has been consistently good. Keep in mind that it is nothing fancy. Neither the food nor the venue will be on a magazine cover any time soon, but the food is tasty, service is pretty fast and the salsa bar is normally well-stocked. Plus, Manzanita Sol soda in the fountain! I usually have horchata or jamaica agua fresca with Mexican food and I don't drink a lot of soda, but when I come here, I have to get that. Lately, I've been getting the rolled taco special -- I like guacamole. In the past, their breakfast burritos were a post-hike refuel staple and their diablo shrimp burrito is quite good. The burritos are large and my appetite is not what it used to be (getting old... ugh!), so I can usually eat half and have the rest for dinner. Most of the time, I eat it at the restaurant, though the burritos do travel well and travel gives the cheese more time to melt! I have never ordered via the drive-through, though I might consider it since the parking area fills up with customers from the three restaurants in this building. Came here around 3pm for "lunch" with my dad. We both ordered the shrimp burritos which come with white sauce, rice, shrimp and pico. I asked them to add lettuce and beans to mine. They just added beans but the lettuce/tomato which came with was good. The salsa bar options were mostly hot salsas so I went for the mild salsa which was pretty decent. The shrimp was well cooked and had good flavor. Chips were okay but nothing special. Each burrito was about $12 so a little pricey but given it had shrimp I was happy overall. Wish there had been more in the burrito - lettuce or tomatoes or even guac, but overall quite tasty. I asked for mine without the white sauce and they accommodated. Good place! Food came out quite fast although since both our shrimp burritos had different adjustments it would've been nice for there to be a label or something. I am in literal tears right now, due to stomach pains. I absolutely loved this place, but boy did they do us wrong tonight. We went through the drive thru and ordered two shrimp cocktails (that's how much we normally like it), a surf and turf burrito and a kids meal with three horchatas. The horchatas tasted like tap water sprinkled with cinnamon, with a really odd lingering after taste. I excused it at first because I thought to myself, maybe it's towards the end of the night and it got watered down. *shrugs* My surf and turf burrito wasn't it's usual size tonight. It was also over stuffed with rice and not very much protein at all. The steak wasn't even warm when I bit into it either. I ended up only eating maybe 1/3 of it. The shrimp cocktail.. Was so off putting we threw both out after a few bites! Wait, sorry I lied, we ate the avocado out of it too then threw it out! The shrimp was small, OLD, dried, overcooked, and tasted almost like freezer burned. It's normally nice medium sized plump and juicy shrimp. Tonight they were literally so gross that when I squeezed one, the indentation stayed. Also, while I was playing with the shrimp one had fallen onto the ground and my dog picked it up and spat it back out then rolled over it. Which was quite odd because she's like a garbage can and eats everything, even her own poop sometimes. Gross. Anyways, now a few hours later my spouse and I both have really bad stomach problems... so please if you are reading this and you had any shrimp at this location today please message me, so I know I'm not alone. Oh, our son's kid meal tasted good and he doesn't have any stomach issues... so we know it's from either the shrimp cocktail or the burrito which also contained shrimp. I literally laughed out loud when I saw the price increase. I understand the economy has changed. Prices for inventory forced restaurants to increase prices to offset. I have no problem with that at all. But when a place takes advantage of that simply out of greed??! I'll never give Senor Tacos another cent. The place was empty at 6pm on a weekend, now I know why. Ends up, I refuse to volunteer to be ripped off. I ordered what my husband wanted only bc I was already there and was bringing dinner home. Senior taco is a good place that has something for everyone to enjoy. It's got options from the typical Mexican food and delicious breakfast options. I do enjoy they have a drive thru to pickup and grub and go. If you dine there, they have a bunch seating inside and a nice patio outside with misters to keep you cool. I was told the hash brown burrito is what you should order here so a day after floating on the river, I felt like that sounded amazing. When I got the burrito, its a good-sized burrito but I did feel like the tortilla was way too huge. I did take off a good portion of the tortilla just cause it didn't need to be there. The burrito itself was pretty good, filling but did have a lot of sour cream within that was too much. I did think the sausage, bacon, cheese and hash browns was alot to take in but all around a good burrito. I do think the sausage could of been chopped up into the burrito vs being a sausage link. It would of made the burrito a little easier to eat but all around it's a good burrito. Good place for some quick breakfast food and I would love to come back to try out some other food. read more

It's sad to have to give this place 1 star because it's within walking distance from our new house. But there a couple of reasons for it 1. I ordered a beef tamale and cheese enchilada combo instead of getting the beef tamale they gave me 2 cheese enchiladas. 2. The guacamole tasted like it came from the deli section nextdoor at Safeway and 3. It's way way overpriced for what you get Del Taco has way better tasting food. I ordered 2 orders of (3) rolled tacos chicken, 2 orders of (3) rolled tacos beef, 2 hard shelled tacos beef and 2 hard shelled tacos polo and a carne asada torta and rice and beans... $71.00 I ordered at the request of a friend who lives near by and I was driving from PhX. They mentioned the food would be about 15-20min and they were on point. After paying 71.00 and change, I had the task of loading up the salsa from the salsa bar.... And this is where it went they get docked some stars. I asked for a simple cup rather than the numerous tiny plastic samplers. I would take a small container sufficient to supply salsa for the meal that fed 5.... Instead was told that they don't offer sizes bigger than the single sampler sizes. I would have gladly paid for a cup size had they mentioned that it would have cost extra.... Instead I had to fill countless plastic dishes rather than a single small cup or styrofoam small bowl to distribute among the dinner. It is more costly but the company didn't budge with reasonableness. The cooks did a great job with the food and would have offered a small bowl but managers stuck to their convictions here and made sure not one styrofoam bowl was used.... Odd. read more

I want to thank Nancy who tried to mediate and help resolve the situation of an incorrect order . They asked me to come back in and they would give me the correct food I had been busy and wasn't able to go right away today I went it and the manager was neither understanding or cordial very defensive even after her employee vouched for the transaction and the communication with Nancy. "The California Surf & Turf from Señor Taco will change your life!" I didn't believe him when he told me. I'd driven by that place a hundred times, and hadn't heard anything about it before. It's 9:30 in the morning. We go to Señor Taco. Whatever image you have in your head of what the inside of Señor taco looks like, you've probably got it right. The Burritos look a little pricy on the menu as we enter the most unassuming of establishments, but he said he was buying, and he took me there to eat that Burrito. You're gonna want to start listening to "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison, because this is where the experience transcends mortal comprehension. Two monster burritos are brought to the table each with a small order of chips. I head to the salsa bar and am met with a plethora of salsa options, all appearing to be of high quality, and freshly made. I cut my burrito in half (at the request of my host) and get my first look at one of God's greatest creations. Shrimp, French Fries, and Carne Asada all swimming in a fountain of Chipotle Aioli sauce. I take my first bite without salsa. Never have I ever eaten such a hearty burrito at 9:30 in the morning before, but I'd go back to that one place at 9:30 in the morning anytime for a burrito like that. Every bite likes it's own little national park on your road trip to a celestial paradise. Words cannot adequately describe what I ate there that day, at 9:30 on the morning. Gave them another try today hoping that during Covid, gloves are being used when making the food. I ordered at the drive thru so I was unable to see whether they were wearing gloves or not because they keep their tinted window closed while they work inside. What you will find are burritos, tacos and other items that compare reasonably to Filiberto's but are both better tasting and somewhat unique. The first time guest should try the carne asada burrito which is a strong item. People who are hungry could try the California Surfin burrito- a massive entree with carne asada, shrimp and French fries in a burrito wrap. Crazy fun and tasty. For those who can eat an entire cow in one sitting, I dare you to try to finish off a Senor Burrito. This double wrapped carne asada burrito with potatoes and lots of other goodies has got to be at least 2 lbs of shear burrito glory. Not for the weak. The chips are tasty, and the salsa bar is very good, well kept and fresh. The flavors are a bit spicier than the other fast food Mexican chains, but they are just perfect. I love the medium red salsa. Prices are reasonable, with most burritos staying between 5-8 dollars, but the monster teo I mentioned above range all the way to $10, which is still a great deal if you consider the humungous volume for those items. The staff is quick and polite, and your order will be ready pretty fast. Everything is made to order so it could be 5 min for some things but you'll be eating in no time.
