Plus one star because the food is consistently good-- but good luck getting it! I get that staffing shortages have impacted many sectors, especially food service. As a result, this place is constantly closed without notice! Today, I put in an order on the Rubio's app. The app showed that the restaurant was open (it doesn't allow you to order unless the location is open), so imagine my disappointment when I drove up and saw that it was closed! There were no hours posted at all, so I couldn't judge if I should stick around or not. Then I tried to cancel my order and get my $15 back and was told to call the restaurant directly. It went right to voicemail. For me, this is a sign of bad management-- they don't pay people enough to keep them and they don't communicate their hours with the app. I'm sure I'm not the only one sending orders to this closed location. Plus, I love the jalapeño citrus hot sauce, but either 1) they are out of it or 2) they read "jalapeño" and then give me the pickled ones instead of the sauce I want. That's a minor frustration, but a frustration nonetheless. I hope this place pulls through this rough patch, because the food is great. read more

Very nice staff. Good vibes. The food looked and tasted great. I'm usually a no-chain except in-n-out when I travel but ended up pulling off the freeway randomly and tried out Rubios. I got four tacos the mahi-mahi taco on flower do original fish taco on flour, the shrimp taco on flour and a salmon taco on flour, everything was delicious service was exceptional. The gal in the front was super cool even the baldheaded guy he was a nice guy. My only issue is it's super expensive. I ordered three burritos for tacos actually six tacos for the mechanics at the shop and it was over $140 which I felt like was a little bit pricey but either way good food good quality food is expensive so I don't have a didn't have a problem paying I will be back for sure. She was very rude. Their Taco Tuesday special on their original Fish Taco is pretty amazing. For $1.75, you get a pretty nice size fish in either their corn or flour tortilla. The quality of the food is comparable to what I get when I order in a fancier restaurant paying twice the price. I like to order online, customize my order, and when I get there, I just call the number for their curb side pickup and and they deliver it promptly to your car. I've never really had to wait and their workers are always so cordial. Good job Rubios! read more

I can't believe I almost got sucked into eating oatmeal instead of this place! I would give this place 6 stars if I could for many many reasons. Me and my wife were waiting for a movie to start and we had about an hour to kill. I noticed that this place opened in a 10 mins and I decided to wait for it to open. My wife was looking for some place to eat oatmeal, and I feared that I would be roped into to eat it with her. Luckily I noticed the time on the door and decided to wait on Rubio's and the picture of the fish taco I saw on display outside. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean everything was inside. I know they just opened up and so they haven't experienced any traffic for the day. But alot of establishments do not care even then, and the type of clean we saw had us thinking this was the norm at this location. I ordered the Avocado Corn Fish Taco and the Fish Taco Especial plate. (since you can mix and match your taco plate) My wife also ordered the Avocado Corn Fish Taco but also decided to get the new Shrimp Taco as well. I order water and received 2 water cups, but when I got up to get salsa I noticed something you don't normally see at the drink dispenser. Multiple diet options!!!!! This has become important to me recently because of the new found diabetes I have acquired. No longer can I drink the sugary goodness that is soda. (my vice, and probably the reason I became diabetic... that and the fact that both of my parents are diabetic.. but whatever) I do not like diet soda, and normally drink water, but sometimes you need soda, and a seltzer is just plain gross. But lo and behold this Rubio's had Diet Coke (meh..) Coke Zero (better then diet coke, but not better then coke so meh?), and (drum role please!!!) Lite Minute Maid Lemonade!!!!!!! (ta taaaa!!) This is important to me because most places only have diet coke or diet pepsi (this is the grosses drink known to man. It may be because I was previously a coke drinker... not pepsi, but I can't even tolerate diet pepsi. Not even for pretend!!) The fact that I had an alternative to drink something other than tea (please, I liked sweet tea, but tea with sweetner is just wrong and not good.. unless it is hot green tea) and diet coke and pepsi was a plus in my book. They already won be over and I haven't even ate yet. The fish tacos were delicious, fresh, distinctive, flavorful. I ate them fast, and wanted to order more but had a movie to go to. Even the beans were good. My wife loved the Avocado Corn Fish Taco, but the Shrimp taco was too spicy for her. Rubios is one of my favorite places to stop when I'm on the road I have grabbed lunch from many of their restaurants from San Bernardino to San Diego. This was my second time I got lunch from this particular location last time my order was incorrect but I can deal with that. On my last visit this week they happen to be the only ones that do not offer the california bowl so I order a burrito in a bowl. The white rice was extremely salty so I decided not to eat it the salmon was awful had a super nasty fishy taste and smell I had my husband try and he agreed. Being on the road and getting on the freeway makes it hard to go back and say anything but that is the only Rubios with bad food I've ever had. Not that it matters why it was customized but I'm allergic to avocado. It was delivered because I didn't have a car, so to be asked if I want to go in for a refund was a little confusing. I was transferred to speak to the rude manager who took down my information of name and order number and said she'd work on refunding the money but to give it 1-3 days when she could get to it. I ordered thru the website. Needless to say, the money wasn't refunded. Serious question, if the food is customized, why aren't they following the instructions?? What's the point in having that feature?? This experience has been extremely frustrating. My aunt loooves their lobster burrito and tacos but they're seasonal so I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Extremely unsatisfied with our recent visit here. My family ordered online and our order was missing 4 things (glad we checked before we left) and then get home and realize my burrito is incorrect. I ordered a shrimp burrito and got a steak burrito. Then on to the quality of the food, my daughters build your own taco with steak looks like yesterday's steak. Upon further inspection the quality of steak in my burrito was very similar (certain pieces good other like beef jerky). I've eaten here multiple times and this is just unacceptable. read more

This is one of the best Rubio's I go to, in addition to the Orange location. The ratio of the fish and tortilla is usually proportional, if not the fish is bigger than the tortilla itself! On one of my visits, the tortilla was a bit burnt so it was harder to eat, but they are usually on point with the quality. The service is amazing, per usual. I go often to the point where one of the servers recognizes me and says hi. I introduced my housemate to Rubio's because she is from NorCal and we usually end up eating Taco Tuesday there. read more

Well let's start with greetings. I am not fond of the over the top "welcome!" greeting. Well I didn't have to worry about that here... I was standing there for a solid 5 minutes while the manager worked and walked passed me several times without once acknowledging I was even there. Then there's the food. I have eaten at Rubios a solid 50 times. This was the last time. At least until my memories fade from this last time. Both me and my son wanted to gag. The gag reflex was 9 out of 10. This has me really wondering if it was by accident or design. I wonder this because they messed up the to go order so asked for an additional taco. And I didn't tip (have it on the CC screen (very tacky btw)). I just got the worst vibe here. As if I was a nuisance and really didn't want to be there.
