I should have read Larry K. review first & since someone from corporate responded they already knew this item had a problem. Ordered the fish & chips & added a piece. The fish was laughable small. Overcooked. Fries were soggy but seasoned well. The worst part was the jalapeno tarter sauce. The color didn't look correct for typical tarter sauce and that jalapeno blows out your palate. Luckily we had Louisiana Tarter Sauce on standby. Also you will need a Tums afterwards. Myself & my daughter are endlessly enjoying the fryer grease burps. read more

Had a great experience at this Rubio's location! Ordered two of the three taco plates and they were delicious. The tacos that stood out to me was the original fish taco. Very well done, crispy, and flavorful sauces. I liked the battered shrimp taco too but found it wasn't executed as well. Restaurant has free sauces and toppings which was nice, the chips were decent as well. What really stood out was the service, felt the staff went above and beyond in assisting us. Just ate the best burrito of all time. Wild-caught Mahi Mahi substituted with Salmon. Asked for their Hot Honey sauce on the side. Took a bite with the sauce and it damn near brought me to my knees. Excellent experience, had to be there. Customer service is top notch. Good music too. read more

This Rubio's is one of the best locations I have been to. The staff manager or lead supervisor was named Josue. You can tell that under Josue's management that this place is the way it is. Josue is very friendly, attentive, engages conversation with customers, and will go round at other tables to check in on quality, taste, and satisfaction. You can tell that this place is ran very well because of the work ethic displayed from Josue. The food itself is always delicious in my opinion. I do suggest getting the rubios app just because of the possibility of having a coupon. I find that you can never go wrong with the shrimp burrito. The food always tastes fresh to me which is nice to have for a coastal grill. I was not from the area and my friends decided to eat rubios and it just constantly reminds me that you can never go wrong with eating here. The best part of rubios are the deals for the day, or the lunch specials. Overall this place has plenty parking and is fairly clean. The service was fine, but I ordered fish tacos around 8pm on a weekend and all 3 of them had fish bones in them. The only reason I found out was because I got one stuck in my tooth and almost swallowed one after I thought it was just the crispy part of the tortilla or something else. Growing up in CA, I had never been to this place (not exactly the most positive way to start off a review, but seriously). My parents and I were looking for a Baja Fresh and the closest one was temporarily closed. One of my coworkers had stated that they had visited CA with friends and they had the fish tacos. I ended up getting a thermos for him for Christmas that stated "I love fish tacos." But beside the point, my parents and I decided to try this place out. The layout is very similar to a Baja Fresh and judging by the food they offered, with an emphasis on seafood. When my order came, I had two fish tacos, side of chips, and a small bowl of cheese and beans (which was an interesting touch). The fish tacos were breaded chicken and they were actually really good. Rubio's like Baja Fresh also has a salsa bar. If I still resided in CA, I would probably come here often. I like the fact that one can submit feedback on a receipt and receive a free dessert item. This alternative to Baja Fresh was not a bad one; however, like Baja Fresh, many of the locations are closing down. read more

** DISGUSTING! ** Moreno Valley Canyon Springs Location Do Not Eat Here. I ordered several burritos and a CA Chicken Bowl. The photo online of the CA chicken bowl is not even close to what I received when I got home. The taste is something I would not even feed my closest enemy. I called the manager right away. They had a 99 cents, fish taco promotion on 1/25/23 and it was so busy in the restaurant. It was to be expected tho, since the tacos are originally over $4.00 a piece. My only complaint was, the piece of fish was so skimpy and basically fried, until there was no meat inside. Businesses offer promotions like this, but skimp the customer on what they receive, because of the purchase price. I've gotten a lot of fish tacos in the past, and none of them were this terrible. Even the presentation of it, was just thrown together. I'll cut them a little slack on presentation, since it was quite busy in there, and they were rushing. First time at Rubio's in years and the beer-battered fish is still as good as I remember. Their Fish Taco Tuesday special is definitely a good deal on a budget. Their seasonal Langostino Lobster dishes are pretty good too. Honestly everything with their beed battered fish is great. I got the burrito and it was very flavorful and the tortilla wasn't too thick either. Great with the white sauce! The fish was more soggy in the burrito compared to the tacos though. They give chips and salsa with each entree. I actually dipped my chips in the beans and it was really good. The customer service is great here. You just order at the counter and they have table service. Their soda machines are open now that the pandemic is starting to open up. The staff all wear masks, but they do not enforce their customers to wear masks. So be aware of that. There were a few customers in line without masks. read more

Haven't been to Rubio's in forever ever. Glad we decided to stop by for lunch. The employees were friendly and helpful. The inside and out are very well kept. There are all wearing masks and gloves. Me and my husband both decided to get their trio of tacos plate and we got their new lobster burrito to half & share. The trio of taco plate comes with 1 shrimp verde taco, 1 mahi-mahi taco, 1 regular fish taco, chips, and a small thing of beans. The lobster burrito comes with chips and a small thing of beans. The food was hot, fresh, and taste good. The tacos were generously filled. Our only complaint is that the lobster burrito didn't really have any lobster in it. My half had 3 small chopped pieces and my husbands had 4 small chopped pieces. The rest was rice and beans. For 13 bucks it wasn't worth it. Now, the picture of the lobster burrito has a bunch of pieces. So that was a bummer for sure. Overall the service and food was good. We will return, but won't be getting any lobster since they are very skimpy on that protein. read more

Rubio's has been my favorite since I was a kid. In fact in 2005 I actually worked there not this location of course, but I really enjoy their food. It's one of the few Mexican restaurants that you can still find healthy and tasty food. I absolutely love their meats. They're definitely quality. I was hosting my sons 's seventh birthday and decided to stop by Rubios a few days prior to try some of their new items and decide what meats I wanted to go with. I did go with the chicken because it is all white breast meat and the steak is also amazing and has no fat on it so without a doubt, I chose them to cater My Son's birthday party. I spoke with Jorge and he was very easy to work with he helped me decide what I needed for my event and how much I needed for a party of 40 guests. Upon arrival on Saturday for pick up. I was greeted and well taken care of. I can't explain how much he went above and beyond to make sure everything went well and I had everything I needed to make the party as success. I would just like to show appreciation to him and this particular Rubio's. Thank you for making this part of our event so easy. I definitely will be back again soon. read more
