After waiting 20 minutes for our food, they bring out half of our order. Where's the rest we ask? It's been over 20 minutes. The rude server procedes to tell us that they are defrosting chicken and it takes 20 min. Why wouldn't you say something we ask? We just found out he says. So we're going to have to wait another 20 minutes ?? No, it's coming right now. So another 10 minutes later we go to the counter, where they're dumbfounded and have no idea that order was even missing. We have chicken we'll make it right now. So 35 minutes later all of us have our food. I will not be returning to this location. read more

There was a very crazy situation tonight. Without enough employees and an emergency medical situation, there was a lot of confusion with orders and of course, longer waits. I was very impressed with how calmly the staff handled the situation and thought Kristen remained calm and collected throughout the whole process. I know it had to be very frustrating and even scary especially with the emergency medical situation, but she and the rest of the Rubio's team handled it the best they could. Ordered online, and after an hour of waiting and asking 3 different times if my food was coming, it finally did, and my fish tacos were as cold as they would have been out of my refrigerator. Rubios is always amazing, and this one seems to have the customer service part of it down! I have been a few times for lunch and they are very fast and very accurate. The lunch crowd here is mostly non-business type people but they seem to be in a rush and they can keep up with it here! Always have their chips and chipotle salsa (its super yummy and smoky), fish tacos are always a winner and ANY burrito they sell will be very good. Just make sure to ask what comes in the burrito before you order it (learned my lesson here as I don't like beans in my burritos). read more

Food is always solid, service is usually very good. It's a Friday go to place for us. Kids enjoy the kids meals, fish tacos are a favorite. I usually go with the Vegie burrito. I'm not sure what they put in there but it is always solid. Add some of their brown or green salsa and it bumps the flavor and spice up. The red salsa is kinda like a boring ketchup. But otherwise we are always happy! read more

My day started at 5 am my son had state cup soccer game after a cold morning and a loss and a 2nd day we decided to stop at Rubio's before we head home Corona , my kids could not find a place inside the place was pack they picked a table with water on it when I asked Elisa to clean it I was very impressed with her positive attitude and smile same as Yolanda took my order she was extremely polite and listened to both my kids 13 and 11 to what they wanted . Today went online and placed my order at 530 pm and once the order was placed my husband and I picked up our order at 610pm not 545 as was said when placed my order. Then when I finally got my order 2 orders out of three were incorrect. They said they could fix no thanks another 45 minutes I'll pick out the onions. The last two times I've visited this restaurant the wait time for table delivery has been extremely slow. I believe since Rubio's has gone to online ordering the in-house service has definitely suffered. I would not choose Rubio's in the future unless I order online. I have always liked this restaurant, but lately it seems that they don't have enough help! Ordered a salad to go today at 1:15. After seeing my salads sitting there I finally got the attention of one of the girls. I told her I was late for an appointment . I left there at 130 . Got to my appointment only to find no dressing on the salad, called and they told me they would deliver it. After 45 minutes I called back only to hear that the girl couldn't find it. Really ! And they had no one else to send out.At 3:00 I was finally able to send someone to pick up the dressing! No this is not a big deal but if ypur offering to correct the issue,, do it. Running a business always has its difficulties. On a very busy day, customer experience can sometimes be risked, but at Rubio's, this was not the case! Not only did they serve free drinks since there was a 20 minute wait, and free chips, but also our server, Heather, treated us fantastically and had a wonderful attitude. Has the usual great fish tacos. But the service was slower than other locations, but still friendly. There was a like of what looked to be a well built tower of plates on top of the trash recepatacle outside on the patio when we arrived, and was still there when we left. One of the servers left the door to the patio wide open, for seeming ease of bringing food to customers on patio, but this allowed flies unimpeded access inside where we were eating. It's sad when the food taste good, but the customer service is bad. This is the case with this specific Rubios. The young lady-Alondra consistently appears upset, moody, and with an attitude. I'm hoping she improves on her customer service skills and changes approach when answering questions about the menu. Although I will continue to attend this Rubios, I look forward to the days where I can go back to "enjoying" the ambiance. read more

Giving it two stars because I got mild food poisoning from the chicken baja burrito. The burrito was delicious, however, chicken must not have been cooked long enough or something was maybe left out. It happens, so I'm not upset about it. I just feel like crap right now. If you do go, the baja burrito is delicious...going down. Coming up? Not so tasty. read more

I live nearby and I wish I could give a better review. The food is great, no problem there and so is the service. However, they seriously need to work on the cleanliness of the restaurant. Every time I go there, as soon as you enter you're greeted with the trash can with a pile of dirty gross dishes. I applaud them for getting rid of the styrofoam for the environment but it's pretty gross to have to look at these dirty plates piled up. The floors are always dirty, especially in front of the drink station. They have no mat there, so it's always a sticky mess and I find I have to tip toe through it to get my drink. & the floors in general are always dirty. I don't know what happened, maybe a new manager or something but it's steadily gone down hill as far as cleanliness. If I go there, I get my food to go so I don't have to look at the mess. read more

If I could give this Rubio's location no stars, I would. I officially absolutely hate this place. Every time I come, I'm disappointed.. Not in the food but the service. The workers here are snails. It doesn't matter if your the first customer when they open, lunch time, or the evening.. It's still going to take them half an hour to take your order and get your food out. I don't think I've ever been to a slower establishment. And I only deal with it because I love Rubio's to the moon and back, and this is the only one in the area. But I just can't deal with it anymore. I will not return to this location again. Today I decided to phone in an order because I knew they would be slow. So I call at 11:48am. I didn't get the girls name who answered but she asked is this for pick up or catering? I said pick up, then she asked me to hold. Annoying already... Why'd you ask if you were only going to place me on hold anyway??? So I hold for 9 minutes before she gets back on the phone at 11:57am and takes my order. I literally said 3 things, which only took a second but you couldn't take my order 10 minutes ago??? I said "a balsalmic and veggie salad, no corn, dressing on the side." She said ok it will be about 15 minutes which means I just spent my entire lunch break going there, and going back to work because I left. I said to her I just held for 10 minutes and now I'm outside. It can't be done any faster? She asked me when I would like it done and I said SOON! I'm already here now. I just held for the entire time it would have taken to make the salad. I also got irritated because it sounded like she laughed at that point as if this was funny to her. She ends up telling me 5-7 minutes at the least and I said ok. I went in at 12:01pm and walk out at 12:05pm because I'm over it and I'm very irritated at the fact that there's 5 other people in front of me, so there's no way I'm getting back to work in time if I wait.. In addition, there's 5 people in the kitchen, 1 of whom is usually on the register, yet she's just standing there. And 1 girl on the register. It makes no sense to me that there's 4 registers and only 1 person taking orders. Especially since it's NOON!! It's rush hour!!!! Lunch time!! Why aren't you people prepared for this. Instead, you want each guest to stand in line for at least 15 minutes. That's absurd! I ended just leaving, upset, no food, and I'm starving! I order original tacos, then hobble my way over to the salsa and drink station, on my broken ankle and cane. Something had to give since I couldn't hold it all in one hand. So I set down my "number" thinking it wouldn't be too hard to find me in the EMPTY restaurant; i"m one of four ppl sitting and THE ONLY ONE without food and a clean table--obviously haven't eaten yet. To pass time I hop on social media. After quite awhile I decide to get up and go in search of my food. It's sitting abandoned on the counter. I ask if this was my food and am told that's why we give you numbers, so we can deliver your food. SRSLY??!!! Food has been great. My review pertains to the sanitation and cleanly practice by the chefs. I am noticing more lately how much bare hands are used with the food that would otherwise require a spoon or other utensils. Oils come from hands weather how recent you have washed them. Possible cuts or other things can come from hands and who is monitoring this? Regardless of California law this is common sense. Nothing should be touched by skin or hands except for the wrapper at a maximum. I hope this gets fixed as will be mentioning something in person. read more

I go to this Rubio's location quite a bit, although my comments here will be generally related to Rubio's as a whole. This location, by the way, is always professionally run, well-staffed, clean, and the food is always prepared well. Rubio's as a whole, though, has really changed ever since it was just a roadside dive found here and there on the sides of San Diego roads. Fish tacos actually used to be less than dollar on Tuesdays (and what have been bumped up to now, $1.29 or more...?), and there was a ragtag charm before it became a major franchise. Prices have definitely gone up, and none of the new food items they have tried to push have caught on. But the fish tacos/burritos, burrito especial, and the nachos too are all ace. read more
