Other than my usual spot in south San Diego, I think this place is my new favorite Rubio's. They're located off of Ynez in a strip mall area with ample parking. The dining room is larger than some other locations. I decided on coming here after being away for a while because I needed an Original Fish Taco fix. It was dinner time, so a lot of people were dining both inside and on the patio. The line was growing, but it didn't take very long to get to the register. I ordered a 2 Taco Plate with the Fish Taco and Lobster Taco, beans, and chips. With a Corona and lime. It was a wonderful meal. The salsa bar was stocked (I also try all of the options), the wait wasn't too long, and the food was delicious. The staff were pretty friendly as well. I do plan to come back. read more

My first time here and I decided to go with a mahi mahi taco plate. Tortilla and fish were both pretty dry and tasteless. I squeezed some lime to get some flavor and I added some mild sauce from the salsa bar. Beans were bland. I added the onion and cilantro mixture from the salsa bar and that improved the beans. Also, there is a handicap sticker on the door, which I took as there would be a button that would automatically open the door for us, but there is not. I buy from this location constantly I always pick curbside pickup since I'm in a rush right after work. Well I call in to let them know I am there and I'm expecting for my food to be brought out. I'm told by an employee named manual or manny something of that nature that I got to come in to make my couple of sodas. ALWAYS fast and friendly service and good food unlike the Murrieta location. Never have issues, food is good and even the manager is friendly and keeps the store running smoothly. At Murrieta its a 50/50 chance you will get your food within 30 minutes but Temecula is spot on. read more

Shrimp n Bacon Burrito- I don't know why I ordered this. I wouldn't normally want shrimp in a burrito. But the cashier said it was his favorite thing on the menu after I ordered it and he suggested I get fries in it. So I did. It turned out to be pretty good. Very light for a burrito. I almost always stop at the Rubio's in Temecula on my way home. This is the first time I've seen it such a mess. Maybe there's no manager today. All tables are dirty, trash cans are overflowing, big pile of dirty dishes by the trash and it took twice as long to get our food. My kid even had to go ask for her kids meal churro. Last night and last month we're both very bad experiences. we were told, at 8:45 PM from the receptionist, that they are no longer serving chicken and steak because the restaurant will be closing in 15 minutes. 10 people walked out for men in front of us and two couples behind us. We took our business to PHO, which was excellent, and superb, in the same parking lot we had a very delightful, relaxing and calming experience. The second bad experience was last month when we were told by a young lady with a broom in her hand walking by our table as we just sat down to eat, and giving us a warning they're closing the doors in 10 minutes and we had to leave. Both of these experiences makes us not want to go back again. I did ask Ed, the manager, this afternoon about the experience we had last night and if that was policy, to stop serving chicken and steak 15 minutes before closing. He told me, no ma'am that is not our policy that should not of happened. I was happy to hear that from him, so I will get this restaurant another try . Free quac with check in and purchase of trio at the time of writing this. When catering larger lunches I use Rubios because it is easy, on time, and they don't mess up my order. This last time around I was really pleased with the service and price. Everyone seemed pleased with the food. Out of the deserts the chocolate brownie was the winner. Not sure why this Rubio's has such a low score. I been coming here for years and am so happy they survived the pandemic. The staff had changed over the years but, some how they always have had a nice crew, never had a bad experience. Everyone is always so nice. I usually order through the app, food is ready, when I pick up. They have a great Taco Tuesday deal, weekly lunch specials, friday special and now under $10 choices. We always stop here on the way to wine tasting, so we aren't drinking on an empty stomach. I have probably been here about 10 times, and it has always been really good. I normally order the carne asada street tacos, because I just want to get something small before I load up on wine. The tacos never disappoint. First of all, I don't understand why fast food places get such low reviews. This is Rubio's, not your taqueria or 5 star seafood restaurant in Maryland. Now with that being said, I generally tend to be lenient on fast food places. While this specific Rubio's location is just as delicious as any other, they don't give as much chips as compared to the other locations. Staff also does not come by to check if the tables are clean very often, which is understandable I guess since customers should be cleaning their own areas anyway, but for some reason at Rubio's it rarely happens lol. I actually really like this specific Rubio's location because it is very spacious. The bathroom alone is bigger than my bedroom (lol). It has pretty comfortable seating arrangement. I don't feel cramped up or feel like I have to stare at someone else's table like at some places lol. Overall, I enjoy this Rubio's. Staff is pretty nice. This Rubio's is in a pretty decent location located in the Target and Vons shopping center on Rancho Cal. If you're just coming out of the 24 hour fitness, it's a great place to stop by afterward and get a quick bite to eat. I've been coming here for a few years now and I've had no issues except for once where I got extreeeeemely stale chips at like 4 PM. When I showed the cashier and received new chips, it was a total night and day difference. This is the best Rubios in the city.. Hands down. I live across the street and eat here often (major fan of the Mahi Mahi Tacos). I'm always met with good food and quality service here. I don't mind waiting 7-10 minutes for fresh food. That's usually how long it takes for me. It always comes out amazing! Any time I need to make a substitution for my picky-self, they take care of it! Extra Chipotle White Sauce?? *YES* If there's one employee here that deserves more credit it's Liz. She always has a positive attitude and makes customers feel well taken care of. When you come here often you see lots of customer situations that need employees like this.
