We came here on a Saturday evening and decided to check this place out. I like the dinning area setup but the upstairs area was closed. The service was great! Our waiter regularly checked on us and when she got busy another one would come over. The only down side was my food. The Yaki Soba wasn't bad but a little too sweet for my liking. The Udon was the same way, too sweet. Just my opinion but you have to check it out for yourself.

MAKE your own call about Makimono... located inside Krog Street Market, I believe they used to be Craft Izakaya, which I did enjoy a lot when it was a full dine in restaurant, but they shut down and reopened as a smaller scale sushi bar counter. After making a circle around the food hall, we were most curious about Makimono. They were close to closing time but luckily not super busy so we took a seat and chatted with some of the guys behind the bar. We asked for suggestions on the best two rolls so they recommended the Ellie and the Lambada, which also happened to be the two sushi rolls on the menu we were eyeing. I'm pretty particular about my sushi and I wasn't expecting much from the rolls. However, they were pretty large and tasty. The Ellie came out nice in photos - the Lambada was probably my favorite of the two, but not as photogenic. Rolls here were a-ok. Nothing special, maybe a step up from grocery store sushi? There are tons of restaurants in Atlanta to grab a mediocre sushi roll from so go ahead and add Makimono to the list if you're craving it while at Krog.

I decided to stop by the Krog Street Market to grab some food today. There are lots of great options for food but I decided to get sushi from Makimono. The panko avocado and the lion king roll were delicious! I also tried the spring rolls which were pretty standard but they were really good in the sweet chili sauce.

First time on the belt line and we stop in for some sushi. We started with the pork Gyoza, cooked perfectly. Then we had The W99 (see photo) was fanatic! Large enough to satisfy your hunger. Finished our meal with the chicken fried rice and Salad. Ginger dressing is really good. The only thing knocking it from a 5 star to a 4 was the fried rice. The chicken was over cooked and the rice had no flavor. Sushi roll are huge and a must if you come here. The menu had Plenty of other items to check out on our next visit. Service was a little slow but they were super busy. Overall great experience at Makimono

Food is great, portions are even better. The flavored margaritas are can't miss.

Food was great, portions are as well. The flavored margaritas are delicious and a great deal.

I've only been able to eat inside the restaurant twice now but their take out side is always busy. Finally tried their sushi after dropping in for gyoza or drinks and it was amazing. Super fresh, fast, and the service is always great. This time the owner was behind the bar working and you can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the place. Great place to drop into especially to get away from the noisy Krog Street vibes. I'll definitely be back!

Welll id probably recommend anywhere else in Krog st. The food wasn't bad necessarily but it wasn't super good and it definitely did not meet up to the price. Save your time and your coins ladies and gents

Service was solid, and my favorite cocktail so far is the Black Lava. I will swear by (not just vouch for) the truffle salmon appetizer, and my favorite hot option is the baked lobster tempura. Gotta keep it real for a moment...bringing a large group there can be a tad more complicated, so plan accordingly. I would recommend it more for intimate occasions and gatherings. That said, there are plenty of paid lots surrounding the restaurant if you can't find street parking, so at least that part is easy! I loved my experience, and I can't wait to return.

That said, locals recommended it, and I usually love sushi as a post-flight meal since it's light and fresh. The ambiance is dreamy, and I really appreciated the attentive service and bar seating. I ordered an avocado ball with caviar and spicy tuna, which was lovely and beautifully plated. I'd also seen a foodie Instagrammer mention their off-menu crispy rice rolls, so I gave those a try. Unfortunately, they fell a bit flat for me. I ended up adding a lot of soy sauce since they sincerely lacked flavor. When the bill came, I realized this probably wasn't the best choice for a quick, light meal. The prices were comparable to California, but the quality didn't quite match. That said, the person sitting next to me mentioned she visits often and felt that the night was a bit off, so I'd be open to giving it another try next time I'm in town.

We tired a few different items on the menu and my favorite was the empanadas, the potatoes and the sourdough bread with tomato sauce and cheese. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my protein. The spicy garlic sauce on the salmon was my least favorite. The sauce was too garlicky and spicy. The fried eggplants were blan and had no seasoning. The drinks were refreshing and a combination of unique flavors. Parking: You'll have to look for street parking or enter the garage to park and pay. Overall experienc: it was really good customer service throughout the restaurant. I do recommend giving this restaurant a try. I'll return to try other items on the menu.

The cocktails are a bit too experimental. I liked maybe 2/4. For what you're paying ($95 pp) I would expect most of the meal to be good. Dessert was pretty much something I could get anywhere. It wasn't crowded but there's a small lot and parking was crowded, but free. I arrived around 4pm and sat at a shared table. Great news, they participate in In-kind- an app that rewards you for paying with the app. I discovered this while I was checking out. They were able to reverse my card payment and allow me to pay through the app, but what bothered me was the waitress wasn't going to do it if she couldn't get tipped through the app. This was bothersome bc she felt entitled to a tip and it felt like she was trying to coerce me. Mind you, I had already paid and tipped but her tone and entitlement was unsettling. So if you want use another app, do it before hand but not that it'll take some sensitizing bc she had never heard of it before I asked and another waitress had to help her. Overall, the vibe is the same as any other location. I do like their HH menus and ability to try other small plates, but it's only about $1.50 cheaper than their regular menu. But saving is saving! I may check out this place again but my favorite location is the Buckhead one.
