Atrocious. Blue cheese dressing that tastes more like mayonnaise than salad dressing, dead asparagus on a plate of overcooked prime rib that tasted old. Server unaware of bussing the table, as well as the adjacent tables nearby. Hostess in a hoodie and drinking a milkshake, which she left on the host stand. This place needs to hire a business consultant, and quickly.

This was one of the best restaurant I've had in soooo long. I finished everything on my plate not a scrape to be seen. Rarely do I ever finish

THANK YOU, for being affordable. Colin and Alyssa were fabulous, thank you. I ordered the 16 ounce ribeye (enough for lunch tomorrow)with a wedge salad and sautéed mushrooms, everything was cooked perfect! My husband ordered the beef tenderloin with garlic sauce, Caesar salad, with a loaded baked potato. It was all amazing. The place was clean and decorated cute. I love this place, because I also watched the employees take team pride in keeping it clean by sweeping and cleaning after people or leaving. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Our waiter Peter was excellent. The ambiance of the food was excellent. I had the twelve oz prime rib, bake potato & cesar salad. My girlfriend had 10 oz prime rib, baked potato & parmesan tomato and both was excellent. Blooming onions for appetizers! Highly recommended!!

Iceberg wedge. Wish they had turned the wedge on its side so dressing would go between layers of the lettuce . They don't stint on toppings.

Not as good as I expected from other reviews. I almost wished I had hit Sizzler across the street. Service was very good. Absolutely no complaints about our sever. Place felt dark and dated. That would have played better at night, but we were there for a late lunch. Everything was very salty. I an a salt liver, so this is the first time I have ever complained about salt. Wedge salad was plated with the outside of the lettuce wedge having up, so the dressing mostly slid off. I think it might have been blue cheese, but mostly salty. I still enjoyed it but wouldn't pay extra for it again. O ion ri gs were fresh and hot. The River sauce was non distinctive. Tomato? Thousand Island? Something. Bacon pepper steak was cooked as ordered, but the salty garlic butter on too was not great, or garlicky. Side of while baby mushrooms was glorious and the high point of the meal. All in all...OK.

Great pour and great price point!

But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

The server was attentive to my needs, took enough time to have conversation, but also left me to enjoy my meal. Being a restaraunt in a hotel the decor was pretty plain. Open with tables closer together than most would prefer. I really wanted the buffet to get started. Most companies are not as generous as mine giving me a $25 allowance for breakfast, but even at that a $22 buffet does not leave room to leave the server a reasonable tip. They should take this into consideration when pricing. There are many other breakfast buffets that are priced much more favorably and usually have a bigger selection. I opted for the western omlette. It was served with potatos which were fine. The omlette taste fine but was really scrambled eggs with ham and veggies mixed in, cooked, then folded in half and topped with cheese. An omlette with the veggies and cheese stuffed inside a thin egg base is always so much better. Hotel food is usually about convenience, so I got what I expected, decent service, acceptable food and a price point higher than average.

For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.

First of all, you know it's gonna be good when it's listed as a "meat shop" rather than a restaurant! (Company quote: "If you take care of the cows, the cows take care of you") I love supporting a restaurant with well-sourced meat. Fun pictures and neon signs all around the shop, and the butcher is just in the back so you know it's fresh!! Great crew super friendly and service was fast. Now the actual burger. The toasted brioche bun, double stacked meat perfectly crispy in the smash burger style with American cheese, thick leafy lettuce, a couple tomatoes, perfect amount of onion, thick crisp pickles, and custom fry-sauce-esque "farmhouse sauce" was just *chefs kiss*!!! I don't even like pickles very much but it all came together perfectly on the burger. Fries were great too! And all that for a reasonable price! So after reading this review, the only question you should be asking yourself is... Why would you go anywhere else?

I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.
