One of my favorite places to brunch! It is always packed Saturday mornings, so this time we joined the waitlist online and right when we got there we were led to our table. Highly recommend doing this. I started off with the iced coffee, and it was delicious. I really like how they top with whipped cream and nutmeg.. different and I really like it. For my meal, I got the florentine omelet, which had goat cheese, mushrooms and spinach (I think). The omelet was perfect, not too buttery and just the right amount of 'fluff' lol. It also came with a side salad and a biscuit. Biscuit was so big and delicious! My friends got the fried tomatoe Benedict and the Migas. I had a bite of both, and so good! They also got the Bloody Mary with bacon, and it was huge! Will of course be back for another brunch! read more

Awesome brunch today. The food is always amazing. Each time we go we struggle with ordering what we have enjoyed previously with trying new stuff. Today we enjoyed the banana cream beignets and candied maple bacon to start. Wow. And our main courses were equally excellent. I recommend making a reservation as the wait can get long. read more

After only stopping at NOLA Ruby Slipper locations, I finally returned to the one here in BR and I think it redeemed itself! I had the same thing I always get with a pineapple mimosa which was super tasty on a Sunday brunch run. It's still cramped but bearable than the time I previously came. The waitress was super sweet although she seemed highly overwhelmed so I do hope they split up tables better between staff! read more

Eggs weren't poached on my benedict or my husband's Salmon Benedict. Between the 2 Bennie's, 3 of 4 eggs were cooked all the way through. We didn't think this would be an issue since the waitress asked if we wanted them poached and we said yes please! Requested a replacement for the "hard boiled eggs". They came back after 10 minutes with only 2 poached. Had to tell her that we still need another poached egg. Proceeded to wait another couple of minutes. The Salmon on his Bennie wasn't even warm to begin with. Possibly cooked before hand and then cooled in a fridge and then used as a topping? After all the time we waited his Salmon was cold. We just finished our food and that was it. Didn't want to wait any longer to ask make further requests. But overall experience was poor. During a busy weekend in Baton Rouge, I stopped in to Ruby Slipper Cafe for breakfast. The shimrp omelet was a good choice- its probably more a scramble than an omelet, but tasted good whatever you want to call it. It came with stone ground grits and a very fluffy biscuit & honey butter. If you go - definitely get the biscuit! I had a Brandy Milk Punch to go along w breakfast and it was so delicious and milky smooth. Expect a long wait -but there is an online waiting list. By the time I got there, it looked like there would still be a wait so I took a seat at the bar - always a good option for a single seat. Ruby Slipper has amazing service and even better food! This is my third visit to the restaurant and the food has been great every time. During the government shutdown, there are not very many places, in this area, jumping at the chance to help fellow citizens that are working without getting paid. It's refreshing to know that businesses in our community are willing to help others in their time of need. I am going to continue to dine here long after the shutdown is over. read more

The sweet heat chicken over French toast bites was AMAZING!!! The perfect balance with sweet and heat get extra sauce on the side I promise you will not regret it!
