We came during the dinner rush tonight. Everything was fantastic. The ladies were hustling! The manager was quick to jump in and help.

I wouldn't have gone to this place in the first place. The only reason I went was it was next to my hotel. I walked in and the whole place was nearly empty. With my hopes up, i ordered my old fashioned. Surprisingly the bartender was scrambling to make me one. In the end it was just too fruity and meh. Then I ordered wings which was a mistake. It was drenched in oil/butter. It was ok with little bite to it. Barely full, I ordered an order of salmon platter. To begin with it was chared outside and barely had any flavor. Beans were under cooked. Rice was mushy was super bland. I was going to order one more beer but one of the staff ran my card so I didn't bother. read more

Oh my. I still come in hoping it's going to get better. I'm rooting for you RT but you aren't making it easy on me! My visit today was to try this new enhanced Garden Bar. Okay. It's expanded. Four different kinds of greens. 12 different dressings. Hummus and pita bread. Croutons or tortilla strips or skinny bread sticks. Various pickled items. Various sliced veggies and some chick veggies for dipping. Black beans, green peas, wasabi peas, grilled broccoli, and a few pasta/potato salads and fruit (which isn't really in season right now so it's kind of pathetic). Plates are now square. They are clean. They are cold. The bar is clean! That's huge! My favorite crab cakes are off the menu. Bummer. The music playing swings from one decade to the next but at least it isn't overbearing. Uniforms are now jeans and a button down solid. Argh! Jeans! The host was kind. Not overly friendly. A shame. But honored my window seat request without attitude. Props! My server was great. Thank you Malia for being a no nonsense server. I was a dine and dash guest. You made sure that happened and I had hot, fresh decaf to boot! The lunch crowd was average. Lots of servers. Not enough guests. Here's the deal folks. The garden bar lacks flavor! There was nothing that stood out which is such a disappointment. Proteins were minimal. Stuff was clearly frozen and thawed rendering it mushy (onions). Some stuff was so cold it curled up (radishes). Some stuff needed a good rinse (black beans). I want to say good things. I do. Ruby Tuesday still makes a darn-good burger and this location is no exception. When I'm in the mood for one there's no need for a 30oz-award-winning-local-behemoth-burger. A simple patty that tastes good on a descent bun with fresh toppings is all this guy needs. I sat at the bar and received attentive service from a busy but efficient staff that were polite and inviting. Some reviews about this location indicate issues regarding the wait staff but I think they're isolated incidents (Maybe the reviewers were also being picky and/or entitled buttholes). It seems that Ruby Tuesday also updated their beer/wine selection for the better, as I was able to enjoy a glass of Meiomi with my meal. read more

The hostess was as nice as could be. While being shown to our table our shoes were sticking to the floor! The floor looked like it had NEVER EVER been mopped; it was beyond disgusting! Why we stayed is beyond me, but we did. The service was awful! Our waitress acted as if she was doing us a favor. Food that we didn't order was brought to our table by the manager I guess because he noticed we had been sitting there for a while. The food was mediocre at best, but when I noticed how disgusting the booths were I couldn't finish my food. The sides of the booths looked as sticky as the floor felt. My favorite part was when we saw the manager high giving the staff. We assumed it was for a job poorly done. Across the street from the Knoxville Airport, this is one of the better Ruby Tuesdays I've been to the in the last two decades. As we know, this chain can be hit or miss with service and our server was so good he belonged at a high end restaurant. Our drinks were refilled before we could finish them. The order came out exactly how we put it in. Exceptional. As for the food, the salad bar was up to par, all the sides were fresh and most were filled. Our turkey burger and bacon burger were cooked exactly how we wanted, hot off the grill and tasted great. For a large chain, consistency is vital and whether you're in solo to eat a late dinner, with friends or the entire family, there's good service and fair chain food waiting for you here. read more

The Ruby's chain is one if the WORST restaurants I have eaten in , in a LONG time. I just had a horrific slider/salad bar combo that cost me almost $20. The salad was ok, but the "meal" was lukewarm-as usual!!!- and when I was asked if I would care for for anything. I asked for mustard....5 times. It came at the end if the meal....literally. I ate at rt over a year ago and vowed "never again" Iplan on renewing my vows and will not eat at another CRAPPY, OVER-priced r.t. "'restaurant '" again!! I HIGHLY recommend not eating at the places. Mrs. M and I stopped in Saturday for burgers and the garden bar. The burgers were good, her's a cheeseburger, and mine, a bacon cheeseburger, were cooked to order and served just as we'd requested. The Garden Bar was well stocked and the selections fresh and appealing. I was surprised by the lack of a French dressing choice, but certainly not a deal breaker. The service was good, though waiting for a check and then waiting for it to come back was longer than it should have been for the number of customers. After a 10 hour drive, we agreed to eat here. A party was sat before us so we were patient because the waitress said, "I'll be back to seat you". We waited 10 minutes and the waitress came back to inform us it would be a 15 minute wait. Then she looked at me and said, "Are you waiting"? Ugh, no because you said, and I repeat, "I'll be back to seat you". At this time another group of people (20) walk in and proceed to stand in front of me while I'm talking to this hostess, waitress, rudeness. This group just starts talking about their reservations for 20 and wanting to be seated as well. Yeah, I'm pissed. So, I walk up to the counter now and ask her in her face, are you going to seat us or not because going on 20 minutes now you were going to seat us NOW you just keep randomly saying "Another 15 minutes folks"! NOW the lobby is full. Empty tables, there is a wait staff. I think I'm correct in saying this place is hiring competent people. After 30 minutes of talking to "this is going nowhere", we left and others left too. About 27 people because nobody was being seated. read more

After spending Saturday evening in Alcoa's sister city, Maryville, my date & I decided to stop by Ruby Tuesday's for a late dinner. We elected to go to the Alcoa restaurant instead of Maryville's flagship restaurant, which is located in the heart of Maryville's downtown. Ruby Tuesday has been a long-time favorite & a family tradition until now. When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by the host, who turned out to be the most singularly helpful person of the evening. She was very polite & we were seated promptly. Our table was comfortable & clean & we could see that the dining room was moderately empty for the evening. Our initial thought was perhaps there was training being conducted for the wait staff, as the majority of the staff were wandering around & going to the bathroom in groups. It was a rather curious thing to watch & a little disturbing. The ratio of staff to patron was very high, but our service was lacking tremendously. Our waiter (name withheld) was lacking sophistication when queried about the menu, specifically the steaks. We were not offered water beyond our initial glass. The salad bar looked as if it had not been attended to in several hours. The preparation time for our meal was very reasonable, but one of the entrees had a hair on the plate under the fries. My date, who is a gentleman, did not make a public display of the situation, but rather elected not to eat his meal. I did the same as my appetite was removed at that point. Our waiter left us waiting for our check for over 10 minutes while he escorted friends/family/customers out to the parking lot. I have to only imagine that he was still on the clock while he hung outside to talk to his company. I don't claim to understand or possess the knowledge to operate a restaurant, but common sense tells me that this place isn't efficiently managed & the wait staff need stronger leadership & direction. We had an unpleasant experience & strongly advise those seeking a restaurant to expand their choices beyond this establishment. read more

This Ruby Tuesday's is quite different from the Northshore Ruby Tuesdays, so fair warning if you go to this location pay attention to the menu it is different. Personally I prefer the other location on Northshore. The Garden Bar a Northshore is much bigger and tends to come with more meals then this location. Actually the garden bar seems to be smaller and more specialized then the Northshore location. But personally I just want a good salad, I don't care too much about how different that you try to make a salad. In my mind it should just either complement a meal or help to give you a healthy filler so you don't fill up too much on the junk. LOL Anyway, I had the Salmon with broccoli and white cheddar brussel sprouts. I would highly recommend the white cheddar brussel sprouts, they are really creamy with a little bit of red onion that adds a little something to the dish. But for me, I will stick to the Northshore location from now on. But good alternative if you are stuck around the Airport and want a decent meal. read more

This is a review for the FURROW ROAD location of Ruby Tuesday and NOT the one inside the Knoxville airport. My husband and I were returning home from Thanksgiving weekend in Cleveland Ohio when our car left us stranded on top of Rarity Mountain, Tennessee. After calling AAA and having the car towed to a Nissan dealer in Alcoa Tennessee, we checked in to the La Quinta Inn & Suites, got settled and headed next door on foot to Ruby Tuesday. I'm gonna say right up front that at our advanced age and having spent over 20 years in the food business, we've kind of become food snobs. Well maybe not *snobs* because we'll eat a LOT of places, but we just really want good food no matter what the establishment. I honestly can't believe I'm going to say I LOVED this place. We're just not that into chain type restaurants well because let's face it, a lot of 'em aren't very good. I'm eating my words on this one though. First of all, kudos to our server Miranda, who was kind and sweet and funny and provided us lovely service. Thank you! Secondly, I couldn't believe how great the new salad bar is! (They call it the "garden bar"). There are really good items to choose from including roasted red bell peppers, marinated mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and a bunch more interesting selections that most salad bars wouldn't have. There are four different kinds of greens to choose from (baby romaine heads, spring mix, raw chopped brussels sprouts and kale, and one other that I can't remember. Every item is clearly marked by a diagram on the wall behind the salad bar so there's no guessing at what you might be putting on your plate. There are four or five kinds of cheese to choose from, the veggies all looked fresh, plus there's fresh fruit and other yummy toppings. I was really surprised at how good it was. OH and the whole deal is just ten bucks! Whaaaaat? Loonytoons. Finally, hubby got the Triple Prime Smokehouse Burger and OMG. It was truly delicious. Cooked to a perfect medium it comes with cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce and onion rings but the best thing is that the roll tastes like a brioche bun, which is SO delicious on a burger! The sweet potato fries were delicious too -- crispy rather than floppy -- they come salted as opposed to some places that season them with sugar and cinnamon. (I prefer them savory, hubby prefers sweet.) We enjoyed our dinner so much that before we rented a car to drive home the next day we went back to Ruby Tuesday again for lunch and got the same thing we'd had for dinner the night before. I got salad bar again and hubs got the Triple Prime Smokehouse Burger but this time with brussels sprouts instead of fries, which were also shockingly good. This burger has a ton of flavor and fills you right up. It's actually enough for two people, in my opinion. I don't know if all of Ruby Tuesday has upped its game but the one in Alcoa TN sure as heck has. It helped make what was a crappy situation a lot nicer! :o) read more

I come here on a semi regular basis and always sit at the bar. The hostess (male or female) always smile and say hi which is nice. The servers always smile and are pleasant. Back to the bar, Paige the bartender has become my "go to bartender". Always friendly and personable and she remembers what I drink so the beer is always on its way. She has a very pleasant and professional phone manner as she talks to the customer. Salad bar is always kept up and the selection is very good imo. The burgers are great as are the ribs. Overall my place of choice for a relaxing and enjoyable time. read more

I'm giving Ruby Tuesdays a 4 star because I wanted a quality well made burger and that is exactly what I got... My wife ordered the salad bar and it was spot on like always. We both absolutely love the fresh fried dark bread croutons. Yum yum yum! I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and it was exactly what I was looking for. STAY AWAY!! RUBY TUESDAY NEED TO TEACH THE CHEFS NOT TO USE SO MUCH BLACK PEPPER ON THE MEATS!!! THE MEATS ARE INEDIBLE AND MADE ME VOMIT HALF THE NIGHT!! The food was ok, but the seasoning was off, the chef used way too much back Pepper on both entrees. As an appetizer we had the spinach and artichoke dip. It was delicious, we ate the entire thing. If it hadn't been for the appetizer we would've starved. My Mother had half a rack of hickory bourbon ribs, loaded baked potato, and cole slaw. She did not like the slaw at all, only ate 1 bite, left the rest, and the ribs were coated in black pepper flakes. I had the chicken bella, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Everything was ok except my chicken was also coated in black pepper flakes. Our waiter was exceptional. He was very attentive, brought refilled drinks before our glasses were even empty, boxed our leftovers, and got us to go cups for our drinks. All in all is was just an ok meal. Have I mentioned the excessive use of black pepper. It was horrible. The black pepper was floating in the sauce on the ribs and in my cheese on my chicken Bella. FLOATING!! The food is not even good enough for a 1 Star. I'm adding this part after I got home tonight. My food had so much black pepper that I spent the evening vomiting, my mother had heartburn and ate anti acids all evening, my husband who eats anything couldn't finish my food, our dogs wouldn't eat it, we ended up just trashing it. TOO MUCH BLACK PEPPER. The chef needs to learn there are other ways to season food. Good grief!! We come to Alcoa at least once a month but you can bet We will NEVER BE BACK!! read more

I haven't been to a Ruby Tuesdays in a while and the salad bar is awesome! I'm a vegetarian so I know the salad bar but they have WAY updated the items. They had spicy broccoli, onion strings, diced egg whites, spicy butternut squash, feta & olive vinaigrette, hummus & more! So exciting for a vegetarian! Well I'm from out of town. Back at home Ruby Tuesday is usually decent. The salad bar was ok, croutons were a little stale. Ordered protein "salmon" order it "blackened" when it came it was so cold it tasted like "freezer burn" because the waitress didn't "hear" my blackened request she put in the regular order of chilled salmon (no thanks) so the manager came over to check on us and apologized and she put in my order to be corrected. Blackened salmon came out started eating it once I got to the middle, it was cold and undercooked nonetheless the manager wiped my entire dinner order off the bill. Over all it was still a bummer. I should of picked up on the red flags when I notified the waitress that the soda was straight carbonation and she took 20 mins to bring me a new one..... read more

However, just a quick lunch takes much longer than it should even when the place is just opened and slow because it looks like there's only one poor guy in the kitchen!
