After a long day of travel delays and missed meals, we landed in Jacksonville hungry and exhausted. Our flight from Dallas arrived more than five hours late, our luggage took forever, and by the time we finally made it to the car it was past 9:15 at night. At that hour we knew our dining options were limited. As we drove away from the airport we spotted Ruby Tuesday with its lights still on and decided to give it a try. It is not the type of restaurant we typically review, but this turned out to be one of those nights when a simple meal becomes memorable because of the people and the experience. Ambiance and Décor Ruby Tuesday is exactly what you expect from a national restaurant near the airport. Clean, simple, and located in a commercial area frequented by travelers and hotel guests. The décor will not win design awards, but what stood out to us immediately was how warmly we were welcomed. We were the only guests in the restaurant and it was clear the staff was hoping to close up soon, yet they greeted us with genuine kindness. After the day we had, that meant more than they probably realized. Menu and Drinks After hours without food, the Ruby Refresher caught my attention right away and it hit the spot perfectly. Susan ordered a cosmopolitan. The bartender was new and still learning, and the first drink was not quite right. The staff handled it beautifully and remade it without hesitation. The second version was fantastic. Their professionalism and friendliness turned a small hiccup into a positive moment. The menu is extensive and offers plenty of comfort food choices, especially for tired travelers looking for something satisfying. Food Quality I ordered the triple smash burger with onion rings and it was exactly what I needed. Maybe it was the long day, maybe it was the hunger, but it tasted fantastic. Susan chose the tilapia special with shrimp. The dish was prepared very well with flavorful rice and a sauce that struck the right balance of seasoning and spice. For a late night meal at a chain restaurant, the food exceeded our expectations. Service This is where Ruby Tuesday truly excelled. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely caring. They treated us like valued guests even though we were the last table of the night. Their attitude turned what could have been a forgettable meal into an experience we appreciated. Value and Pricing The pricing was very reasonable for both the quality and the portions. It is exactly what you hope for in a restaurant catering to travelers. Overall Experience Walking in we did not expect much. Walking out we were pleasantly surprised. Food is meh. My husband ordered a medium rare steak and it was WAY over cooked and he said it was the toughest steak he'd ever eaten in his life. He actually had trouble cutting it. What a shame! They used to have the most tender and buttery steaks in the area. We did tell our server, but she had no recommendations about how to rectify the situation. There weren't many people in the restaurant, (maybe 4 tables) so it was quiet. Our server was waiting on every table. The chefs were singing VERY loudly in the back. Host got us right in only five customers, he was very sharp and nice. Waited ten minutes on a waitress and then another 17 minutes for appetizer. Then another 35 minutes on the food which only had to be put in the microwave. The sad part is there wasn't anyone there. On the way out I gave the host five dollars and told him best of luck, finding a job where he fit in because, it wasn't there. He was to nice and his good quick service quality didn't fit in there. I've never seen a restaurant this unorganized. Took 20 minutes just to get a drink order then at least 30 to get your food. Seemed to be a little under staffed. Food was ok, ordered a steak and asked for steak sauce and they brought a tiny bit in a little salsa cup. If ever there was a Location that needed an upgrade, this location is the one! It also needs o good cleaning. The salad Bar was really dirty having a layer of dust on the top protective layer. In my opinion should have had sanitizer for people to pump, but did have gloves.The tables had a sticky film on them that made me glad I carry wipes. I choose the 3rd in a stack of salad plates because of cleanlines. The bathroom was dirty and the carpet very worn. The salad bar was decent, but I think the cleanliness already turned me off. Went to the airport road location in Jacksonville. I was very disappointed with the food. It was not what I expected. Food taste like frozen food out of a box. I purchased the fish and chips. Horrible. My wife got the bourbon glazed chicken. Come on Ruby's Tuesday. You continue to prepare food like that and you will be out of business soon. Scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. The waitress was horrible! Rude and disrespectful! When I asked if I could have double smash burger to be cooked medium rare, she rolled her eyes and said we only cook our burgers well done. I've been very poorly treated by the General Manager of this location, a middle-aged white lady named Beth who is more a liar than a leader and lies by example. During my visit today for a Ruby TueGo Curbside Pickup, it took almost 15 minutes for Beth and her staff to answer the phone, after which I was placed on hold indefinitely (for at least 15 mins when I hung up) and come to find out the guy that answered never told anyone that a customer was on hold. When I hung up and called back, a lady (I'm pretty sure the bartender) answered and said they are not staffed for Curbside Pickup and that I should come inside. I asked to speak with a manager, was told the GM was not working today (a lie) and was placed on hold for the MOD. After holding for almost another 15 minutes, I walked inside. My spouse was already at the bar waiting for our order. I asked to speak with a manger and I believe a lone cook talked to me, couldn't answer my questions and then went to get the GM (the one whom Beth's lying staff said was not there today). Beth came out like a deer in headlights. She didn't have a clue what was going on. She wasn't able to resolve anything as she said Ruby Tuesday doesn't provide her with the tools or authority. I asked for the name and number for a regional, and from memory she wrote down a name and number, which after I called it ended up being the person who name she wrote down as her regional, but seemed to be a stranger living in Oklahoma with no relationship to Ruby Tuesday. Beth is a liar. Beth's staff are liars. Beth is not a competent manager. Beth has discontinued the Curbside Pickup program without the consent of Ruby Tuesday management. Beth has included an innocent 3rd party, who wishes to file a formal complaint, for being included in her lies and fraud. What I can say is that the regional leadership for the Southwestern United States has to be aware of her horrific skills, and if it's the first complaint they've had it's because it's nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone when managers like Beth, and her lying staff, are intentionally giving out bad information. Oh, I tried to call Beth back to ask about the number and get the right one. Amazingly my calls were answered on the first ring and then immediately disconnected....click. Beth and her loser staff at the Jacksonville Airport location need some serious intervention. You see, Beth is too stupid to realize I can just call another location and get the information from a manager who isn't begging to be fired. Thank you Monument Road for showing not all Ruby Tuesdays so obviously hate their customers. Beth has demonstrated she is an incompetent employee with bad intentions. I almost didn't go because of the bad reviews but it is next to my hotel and it was easier to walk here. Got here at 5pm, not busy, was seated right away, waiter came over took my drink order. Very friendly. I ordered New Orleans Tilapia and shrimp, with Cream sauce. Came with rice pilaf and grilled zucchini. I also opted for the salad bar. Fish dinner was excellent, fish was cooked perfectly, absolutely perfect, tender a juicy! Zucchini was perfect too, as was the rice. This establishment is a poor representation for Ruby Tuesday, especially since it welcomes visitors to Jax, being at the airport. I've given it several chances the last couple years, and it disappoints every time. Mainly, it is due to general cleanliness. Being alone, I usually sit at the bar. It is always dirty and it is never offered to wipe it down before seating. The salad bar is usually a disaster as well. Every time I've gone the person tending the bar has not been very attentive and generally lacking in a good customer service attitude. I had just walked out of another nearby restaurant due to a large crowd and slow service as I sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes without even being acknowledged. This was a much more modern and upscale place. I decided to give Rubys another chance, and after comparing menus and prices, not that much of a difference. First and foremost, shout out to our server, Leon. His service made our visit feel very pleasant. With that being said, the food was less than pleasant. We went in for dinner on 4/7/25. If this steak is "new and improved" then I'd hate to know what it tasted like before. I got the 12 oz ribeye with shrimp added on for another $5. The steak was very bland, grainy, and was 50% fat. Not a great piece of beef. Leon, complimented me another 2 shrimp due to the kitchen forgetting multiple things on my plate... bring my total to 5 shrimp... also very bland. The icing on the cake was the addition $1 add on for steamed broccoli. This was the first time in my life I actually had to spit broccoli out. It tasted off... like the kitchen accidentally sprayed cleaner next to it. The baked potato was good though. We come here every time we fly in for a cruise. We had to wait for a table in the lobby for 35 plus minutes. (Short staffed?). Got to our table at 2 pm. Ordered 2 for $27. We believe our order was never placed. Art dip and 2 bourbon chicken with mashed pot and broccoli. Table of 8, next to us got their apps before us, although was seated after. We asked where is ours?? Took a total of an hour to get an app and hour and a half for food. It wasn't a difficult order. 2 of the same. Had to asked twice for our check. Took 2 1/2 hours for an easy lunch. My experience here was pretty poor all around. My expectations were low, as we were just trying to get some food before getting some sleep after a long day on the road. First off, the food. I ordered the Smokehouse Burger. When I got it back to our hotel it didn't have any barbecue sauce, which I would consider one of the key ingredients. The bottom bun was super soggy, probably due to the long wait (see below). The meat had no flavor. Basically it was terrible. My wife ordered the Chicken Fresco, which comes topped with tomatoes, lemon butter, and balsamic vinegar. She doesn't know what sauce was actually on it, and there were no tomatoes to be found, but she said the flavor was good. The side of broccoli was also good, though basic. Before we even got a chance to try the food though: The place wasn't busy, but there was nobody at the front door when I walked in, though there was a sign saying wait to be seated. It took a few minutes for someone to show up. I said I wanted to place a takeout order, and was told to go to the bar. The bar was full of patrons, so there really wasn't anywhere to go to place an order. So I had to wait at the corner until the bartender noticed me, and I placed the order. I sat back at a table in the bar area and waited. And waited. And waited. More than 30 minutes later, despite the restaurant being almost empty except for the bar area, I saw a couple of to-go bags placed on the counter on the far side of the bar where the servers pick up bar orders. I waited some more. When the bartender finally had a chance--she seemed to be the only one in the restaurant actually doing much work--she started handing out the to-go orders to the several people waiting. Eventually she got to me. The order looked correct, but with no utensils, so I had to go back and ask for those. I knew better than to expect a great meal at a Ruby Tuesdays. And I knew better than to expect stellar service at a restaurant that was surrounded by hotels near the airport. But the experience here was way worse than my already low expectations. read more

I I was so pleasantly surprised with how fantastic every aspect of our visit went. Honestly, there are a lot of bad reviews on this location, so I was apprehensive. First of all, all staff are wearing masks and seating tables every other one. Secondly, our server sat us immediately and got our drink order directly after. Score. She promptly cane back and took our appetizer order and my son's kids meal. It was only $3.99 and a huge portion! He got penne pasta with butter and Parmesan cheese. It came out in about 10 min with our bangin shrimp appetizer! Great portion. Great flavor. Great ranch. She then took our entree orders. Right now if you are apart of their email club they are sending out BUY ONE GET ONE FREE entrees, which is incredible. Both my mother and I ordered a full rack of ribs and got two sides. Best part is we only had to pay for one! Side note: servers deserve tip on full price before discount, especially if service was good!! The ribs were juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were crispy and yummy. Roasted tomato soup was delicious! We also had a margarIta and a beer and they were both cheap and cold! My husband and I stopped in while in Florida on a Thursday night. Place was not busy seemed to have enough people working. Got seated fast and our server came over quickly. He was very pleasant. I've met the most magnificent waitress at Ruby Tuesday airport road in Jacksonville Fl. Her name is Jessica. I've witnessed this woman be the ONLY waitress on the floor, go from table to table, including the bar with a smile on her face and never once did I see her be short with anyone. I purchased the 30 day salad bar pass (great deal) so am in there alot. She is ALWAYS so kind, courteous and friendly. She deserves to be rewarded for her efforts.
