Ok. I tried. I actually tried 4 times! First time, I ordered egg and cheese in a pita. Got down the road, no cheese. Too late to turn around, it had no butter, mayo, nothing, it was so dry and tasteless I just threw it away. Second time, ordered egg and cheese in a pita, with butter. Got just egg, no cheese, and so much butter it was running down my arm. Threw it away. Third time, ordered egg and cheese but wanted an extra egg (so 3 instead of the standard 2) with butter, and when the girl read my order back she didn't mention cheese. I asked again for cheese and she said all the breakfast sandwiches had cheese. Great! Got my order, drove off, down the road I look and it's 2 eggs in a pita. No extra egg, no cheese, no butter. I really had decided at that point to never go back. How hard can it be? This isn't a complicated order. Egg, cheese, butter. That's it! But apparently I'm a glutton for punishment and decided to try it one more time. 4th trip...ordered egg and cheese in a pita with light butter. Paid, left, got down the road, opened my sandwich and here we go again. No cheese. No butter. I tore the sandwich in half to make absolute sure there was no cheese. This time I turned around, I go inside tell them what happened. The girl ADMITS she didn't wring up cheese, that it's her fault, but then hands my now NOT HOT sandwich to the kitchen and asked them to put cheese on it. They did. She hands me back my original sandwich, (which remember I had broke in half and dug thru the egg to find the cheese), with room temp cheese on my room temp sandwich, and still no butter!...and tells me to have a good day. I was so fed up at that point that I didn't even want to argue that they SHOULD have offered me a fresh breakfast sandwich. The manager was right there. Yes they apologized. But I expressed that this was the FOURTH time this had happened, so you would think she would want to make sure everything was correct before I left. Needless to say, I threw it away and didn't eat it. I really hoped this last time they would redeem themselves, but nope. So, I'm done. I will drive right past there and stop somewhere else for a quick breakfast on the go. I'm just still blown away that they can't get this simple order correct, and even more blown away that when I went in that they didn't do better at rectifying the problem, and offer to make me a new one that was fresh and hot. IF they had at least done that, I may have even possibly given them another chance. But that's just poor customer service. read more

Customer service is shit. They cannot even get the basics to your order correct. Missing food is not acceptable. You pay for it but they don't want to give it to you ... If you want just a good burger and fries this is the place. According to my husband, very little has changed from when he was growing up in the area. We ordered burger combos and our son got a pita. He raved about his sandwich. Our burgers were great with the perfect amount of toppings, and the fries were super hot and fresh. The service was fast and all the employees were friendly. The drink and condiment stations were clean and well stocked. If I'm guaranteed to get the same food and service I'll be back every time we visit the area. read more

First off, the service today in the drive thru was not good. He spoke too low, was confusing and was just impersonal. Got home and the steak in a sack meat was bad (tasting and smelling) we had to throw it away. The cheeseburger on our order was drenched in mayonnaise to the point it was inedible. This is the only location where I order a burger and get it almost instantly after placing my order. It doesn't taste fresh at all but like it's pre cooked then microwaved upon ordering. Even the bun is extremely hot. This is the second time and there won't be a 3rd. I'll go to sheik in Jax. Also I watched the "cook" eat fries with gloves on right after putting my fries in the window. The people are nice but the food is trash and the cook is unsanitary. read more

Every Sheik location is the same in terms of the menu. Breakfast is great, burgers are just OK but the hot dogs, pitas and subs are great. Steak in a sack with cheese and peppers is my go to. It is community themed with local school sports jerseys and hats on the walls. The owner is hospitable and is often found in the lobby talking to customers, which is something I have never seen in another Sheik. Service is pretty quick and the seasoned fries finish off a good, fast food meal. Callahan doesn't have a ton of options but if fast food is what you are after, this is the best place to go. read more

This was our first time here for breakfast. We had the breakfast platter ( 2 eggs, country ham, toast and grits) was ok but nothing to write home about. After hearing my 17 yr old nephew's story about working at the sheik and why he left, I must say I am shocked at the lack of compassion and professionalism the management has for its employees. Especially our young adults and high schoolers. Most of the staff are either related or longtime friends and it shows negatively. Some are held to higher standards than others and some are allowed to slack with no accountability. It was not a fair or comfortable environment for my nephew. There are no free meals, or employee discounts for food, drink or the cheaply made shirts sold to employees to wear. Worst of all the business owner has made the decision NOT to distribute tips made on a daily basis and splits them all into small Christmas Bonuses. In my eyes tips are what make food service worth while and as a business that mainly attracts a lot of younger kids who are in school or not able to work all year long that cheats them out of hard earned income. BEWARE BEFORE YOU TIP!!! You may want to start slipping your money into the cashiers pockets instead of the bosses. read more

I tried this shop a year or so ago and was not wow'd. I see a lot of local people eat from here and wondered if I was missing something. They recently moved across the street to a brand new restaurant. I thought it would be a great opportunity to give it another shot. My first impression of the atmosphere was a lot like the last location. It is depressing. Drab colors and the big cold depressed feel of a rented function hall. Sadly, Callahan has very few sit-down restaurants, which is why almost everyone goes to River City Marketplace in Jacksonville to eat. This location is clean but it has an unwelcoming cold feeling. The staff are friendly, but are as engaged as you would expect high school staff to be. The food was as I remembered from last time. Bland. The fries were wilted and mealy. The sandwich was plain and boring. With Subway right up the street with fresh bread and flavored options and an energetic atmosphere, the Sheik feels like something I could make at home and costs about the same price as Subway. It saddens me to feel this way, as I was really excited about the new opening, but the food and the atmosphere are so blah that I don't think I'll try it again. read more

I try to be understand working in the food industry myself but just over all disappointing. I first got my food wrong. Order bacon, egg and cheese pita. Got sausage instead. Turned around to return it. Got a pita with no cheese. Ate through 3/4th hoping there would be cheese. There was none. Then notices mold all over my pita bread. The drive thru situation was so odd.. we pulled up and they acted like we should've already ordered and apparently we should have? It seems that you are supposed to park in the front and wait for someone to come out and take your order and then drive to the window to pick up? New location and same slow service. Matter of fact is slower. It took 23 minutes to get through the drive thru. You sit at the drive thru five minutes before they even open it so you can pay. Food is ok. Nothing special. Limited choices in Callahan. read more

This location is new to Callahan. I was super excited to visit to get me a steak on the sac. I usually go to the location off of 103rd or Main Street. I placed my order in detail. I get home and the order is totally incorrect. I called and the manager stated to bring back the food. This has happen 3 times so far. After my last visit of them not putting the correct cheese on my steak in the sac I gave up on this location. They have lost a good customer.
