Dust pan in direct pathway to patron dining area.

Our family (of 6) and I arrived to this location for Sunday dinner when the female greeter (if that's what you want to call her) with the cornrow braids told us it would take 15 minutes for seating. Note: there was no crowd. Upon arrival we had waited almost 7 minutes before being acknowledged. After 11 minutes I went up and asked her what was her estimated time for us being seated because she was doing nothing but standing at the podium and barely greeting anyone or checking on status of our table. With an obvious attitude she replied, "I told you it would be 15 minutes and it's only been 10 minutes! It will be another 5 minutes." She then told a coworker about my inquiry and added a few smart remarks. As the coworker walked away, she looked at us and smiled. 18 minutes later- we were seated! Note: She had already seated 2 more sets of patrons before seating us (they came after we had arrived). She definitely needs so customer service training. When we were finally seated, the table was sticky (luckily I had Clorox wipes). I must say that I'm proud of myself for giving this little girl grace because her attitude was that which could have incited an altercation if it had been another person. Our server Gabby was very sweet and helpful. She's the only reason the rating I give is as high as it is. But even she was all over the place overworked and not able to give timely service. I did also ask her who the manager is because I was going to report the "hostess" experience but I learned that the manager was very new to this location so I gave extended grace. The bathrooms were filthy and OSHA violations everywhere including this dust pan obstructing a walking path in the dining areas. The red scrubber for the toilets contained soil and excrement from the toilet was under the sink where you wash your hands. According to my family who had them the ribs were good as were the fries and wings. The bourbon salmon was slightly under in the center. The grilled zucchini was mushy and wayyyy too much butter. You could also tell it was cooked on the same grill as the meats- cross contamination on deck! Oh and definitely DO NOT order the Mac and cheese! Noodles under and the gross cheese sauce used inside was definitely not for the pallet. Only sprinkles of cheese on top for a "crust." They were out of ingredients and condiments and apparently had been for a while (shrimp cocktail sauce, pork chops other meats). The best parts of our meal were the salad and the libations/cocktails. This location should definitely be on the hit list for closure. I believe Ruby has seen her last Tuesday. And I agree! Very disappointing. Definitely will not be returning and will be reporting this locale to OSHA and the health department

I should have checked Yelp before we stopped to eat there. It was dismal, from the interaction with the hostess to the food. We walked in and had to wait for the hostess to show, then her opening statement was "only three" not hello not how are you. The booth we were seated at had one side fully covered in blinding sun light. We lowered the shades ourselves. Took quite some time for Breanna our waitress to show. She was friendly and is probably very sweet but fast no, professional not. We opted for salad bar .... I wonder what the secret is to remove all flavor from everything I put on my plate. On the flip side the crackers were so salty they were bitter. The only option for soup was the broccoli cheese soup, it took forever to get it. We were told the soup of the day vegetable beef? Was not available, they ran out, however it sounded it was the soup of the day every day. We had to ask for refills several times. For $18.16 including tip this was totally disappointing. Soup, salad and water need to be really good for that price. What I had barely rose above awful

spinach dip was very oily, mozzarella sticks had no cheese at all. overall visit was bad

Very nice decor and atmosphere. The food was decent and the service was great, but nothing to write home about.

Well, The Larder sure fit that category, hook, like and sinker. * The fried chicken wings were great * The hot chicken legs were very good * The fried pickles were salty and puckeringly [sic] good * My bacon / cheeseburger was good * But, the star of this show were the sweet potato waffle fries. I mean you can't get more southern than that. The service was good and the ambiance was "Deep South"!

We were genuinely excited to stop at Hammond Ferry Larder on our long drive home from Surfside…read moreBeach to Montgomery. Between the playground right next door, open outdoor seating, and nearby walking trails, it seemed like the perfect road trip pitstop for our stir-crazy kids (and parents). Bonus: we saw they had drinks and a promising-looking menu. Total win, right? Unfortunately, we rolled in an hour before opening--my fault for not checking the hours. That would've been a disaster since my 4-year-old and I were both doing the "I need to pee" dance, but thankfully, the kind kitchen staff let us in to use the restroom while they prepped. We decided to hang around and wait for them to open, and honestly, the outdoor space made it easy to kill an hour. The kids ran around, we played on the playground, and when a sudden downpour rolled in, we took cover under their patio and even got to play a round of giant Connect 4. By the time 4:00 rolled around, we were wet, hungry, and ready to eat. And then it got awkward. We rushed inside excitedly... only to be met with a trio of staff who looked just as confused by us as we were by the vibe. No one greeted us, no host stand, just a blank stare until someone finally said we could sit anywhere. So we awkwardly claimed a table and tried to shake off the weird energy. Our server came over soon after, and we placed our order. I got the drink special--a gin Paloma--which was fine, nothing remarkable. We started with fried pickles (solid but unmemorable), and then moved on to our mains: cheese pitas for the girls, hot honey chicken sliders with sweet potato fries for me, and fish and chips for my husband. Sadly, things went downhill from there. My chicken sliders were just basic chicken tenders on toasted buns. The goat cheese added a little something, but the hot honey was nowhere to be found. The sweet potato fries were floppy and undercooked. The girls' cheese pita was... well, exactly what the menu said: pita with melted cheese. But it somehow still felt a little sad. The worst offender? The fish and chips. The fish was soggy, and the breading slid off like it was trying to escape the plate. The potato wedges were also undercooked. My husband ended up sending it back and opting for the warm chocolate brownie instead. The brownie was better than the fish--barely--but it was clearly just a microwaved store-bought dessert with a drizzle of syrup. In the end, the best part of our visit wasn't the food--it was the playground, the covered patio, and the generosity of the kitchen staff who let us in before opening. We were grateful for the rest stop, but the restaurant itself fell way short of expectations. for the family-friendly location and outdoor amenities for the kind kitchen staff and covered patio with games Points off for food quality (main dishes and dessert mostly disappointing) for the awkward service vibe at opening for lack of value and underwhelming execution If they improved food execution and tightened up the front-of-house experience, this place could easily be a 4-star gem for families on the go. As it stands, it's a pretty setting with subpar substance.

I was greeted after standing there for a min by Shulindra, she was kind, gave me some recommendations. I went with the Cajun Turkey BLT which came with fries. I wanted the green apple lemonade but they only had the blueberry and it was alright, basically Kool aid imo. They were out of a few things actually but that BLT wasn't anything to write home about. I honestly thought it was going to be a turkey bacon LT, not a BLT with turkey slices so I was a bit disappointed. The lettuce and tomato were really fresh but there was nothing Cajun about it. I ate every bite for the $16 I paid for it! The fries were pretty dry, similar to Popeyes.. I guess I'd go back to try other items.
